    Well it's December and he's still dragging ass.

    Hopefully that is the reason though

    You the guy has 12 points in the last 18 games? That's since November 1st, a timeframe where he played 14 games with a broken foot. Moreover, he has played 90% of those games with 51 or 14, not with 27.

    I say Pac is doing pretty good.

  2. Christian Thomas is having quite an interesting camp. He has a couple of goals I think in the scrimmage games and he played a good game against the Bruins.

    I think he is establishing himself higher than Ghetto & DLR in the depth chart. I could see him as a good replacement for Gallagher if he gets hurt during the season.

    Sekac is a good player too. Good to see him compete and be effective against Bruins veterans. The guy has good vision.

  3. You can see it by watching him. All we have for his attitude other than what he's doing on the ice is his off-ice antics. It's clear he was dogging it in Hamilton last year and at training camp right now with his performance so far. His promoters here even say so, as if that's okay to them, because it's not an NHL game yet. The thing is, he's never done anything to earn his spot yet. He's played a grand total of 30 NHL games (7 of those in the playoffs), and has 6 assists to show for it. In each and every shift he's been a defensive liability at best. That's okay if you're a 21 year old prospect ... you let them develop in the AHL while they work out their issues. Only by his Hamilton performance, I get the impression he thinks he's too good for the AHL now, and only the NHL matters. This couldn't be further from the truth. (If you don't accept that this is his attitude, remember, I'm being charitable, because the alternative is that he really sucks that much that even in the AHL he's outclassed.)

    Someone above compared him to Subban. You know, PK Subban is a proven star, and he has never once failed to give 100% in every single shift. Oh, he makes mistakes, sure. Everyone does...but each practice, each pre-game warmup, each interview, one gets the impression of a warrior's competitiveness and a work-ethic where anything less than total effort no matter what he's doing is unacceptable to himself, personally. Despite fans and media alike criticizing his "atittude," PK has always been team-first, the epitome of modesty in an interview. He does something stupid like scowling at the entire boston bench as he skates by, and gets dressed down for it by Markov when he gets back to the bench. A player with too much ego or pride would take offense - who is Markov to criticize me? But PK takes it constructively and respectfully and learns from it. What impresses me about Subban is everything N8 the Gr8 lacks -- so far, anyway. I don't see that work ethic. I don't see that hunger and competitive drive. I don't see that humility that is the hallmark of self-improvement.

    No matter your talent level, you can display that. I don't see it from NB. And as an unproven kid, Beaulieu needs that more than any amount of talent. All the better if you can maintain it after a Norris trophy, but N8's not there yet. I want him to develop into the player some people here think he already is, because I'm a Habs fan and I want their prospects to reach their potential in Montreal and help us get 25 someday soon. But I'm not seeing the upside for N8. I've never seen it. There's not even flashes of brilliance like Eller or Bourque. There's simply undeveloped "talent" that's not translating into an on-ice asset.

    Great post.

    I remember seeing Beaulieu perform in Saint John during the 2012 QMJHL playoffs. He clearly saw himself above the rest during games (which he actually probably was, talent wise). This translated in arrogance towards the opposing team (he was yapping like an a$$ at players between faceoffs) and also on bad decision making while on the ice (too many incredibly long shifts, too many worthless rushes in the offensive zone, etc.).

    The guy is not focused on making small and simple plays with intensity and good judgment. He seems to be focused on showing the world how great his skating and hands are.

    I don't like him but I still hope he can turn things around and become an effective player.

  4. LMAO

    The person doing the interview is out of his mind.

    you guys saying "this person" or "this man interviewing" don't seem to know about Ron Ron Ron Fournier...

    man, you guys should really tune in CKAC after Canadiens game on week days...

    yes he talks to sergei has if he were a kid. He did the same to kovalev a couple of weeks ago when interviewing him about the DVD.

    Ron is mad

  5. I watched an interview with Emelin on radiocanada and he mentioned that the only reason he didn't come to North America this year was because he received a contract offer from the canadiens AFTER signing with a Russian club. It had to do with his agent not expecting a contract from the canadiens or somethine like that.

    this guy will be playing in Hamilton (or montreal?) real soon.

  6. I have no problems with the fact that Perez is no longer here. He is now playing in a much weaker league, and can't even get 1 point per game. He's just another one of those smallish players with speed, who's afraid to go in the corners and won'T park his butt in front of the net. The habs have PLENTY of these players, we don't need him!

    Hupette gros., in case you were wondering, Samsonov is not even playing in Chicago. The guy is finished. If you'Re gonna blame that on carbo, then i'd say you don't really know much about hockey. If Samsonov couldn't play here, and can't play in chicago(he's been benched for the past 2 weeks) i thikn that says alot about his character and the type of player he is!

    well, how about Carbo ruining a guy's self esteem? Samsonov's confidence has been mashed & destroyed, and he hasn't got it back. Do you think that Samsonov was playing worst hockey last year than Ryder these days? Samsonov created much more things on the ice in a single game than what Ryder has been doing for the last month. Why all the patience with Ryder and the pression on Samsonov, who had just arrived in town and playing with a guy in a bad streak (Kovalev) and a guy stressed as hell (Plekanec) ????????????????????????? Read it here: Carboneau destroyed Samsonov's carreer in the NHL. But you learn from your mistakes. So it's a good thing he learned patience and I like the way he deals with Ryder and Latendresse this year.

  7. Where the hell is he when we need him. I really don't like the way Carbonneau misused some players last year (i.e. Perez, kovalez, and yes, Samsonov). If Perez wouldn't have been pissed by the coach, he might have stayed around. He would be the perfect fit to replace ryder on the first line.

    Where is he now? How is he doing? Do the habs still pocess any rights on him?

    He could add some punch to the smolinski and Latendresse line...and eventually i could see a s. kost - grabs - perez line!

  8. What’s the formality explaining that these two need to clear waivers? This is bad news for us – if we loose Danis there is no way we can trade Halak as part of a package.

    From Habs I/O, here are the first 8 cuts:

    Goalies:

    Yann Danis (must clear waivers);

    Loïc Lacasse;

    Cédrick Desjardins

    Defenceman:

    Jon Gleed

    Forwards:

    Ajay Baines;

    Corey Locke (must clear waivers);

    Eric Manlow;

    Gregory Stewart

    Note Danis and Locke have to clear waivers. They'll probably both be picked up. I'm a little disappointed in losing Danis for nothing, but I guess he would have likely only brought a prospect back unless part of a package trade and we've got LOTS of prospects as is, so.....

  9. So I am not sure of understanding what is the deal with RFAs. Is the team having an option on them after July 1st? Why would Gainey ever try to re-sign Souray before Higgins, why can he wait before signing Higgins?

    How does a RFA status benefit a team and how does it benefit a player?

    cheers

  10. So, anyone here actually know Carbonneau personnally? If so, please suggest to him to try Samsonov-Koivu-Ryder and Higgins-Plek-Kovalev for 3-4 games. Most people seem to think that's a good idea, why not try it? After having Streit and Johnson on the first line, Perez benched and Samsonov benched, nothing is surprising.

    Okay koivu isn't what you could define as a first line center. But he's a team leader, he's our first center and he inspires confidence. You just need to get positive vibes in people's mind to see them perform, that's what would happen to Sergei if he plays with him.

    Carbonneau should make public excuses on how he has dealt with Samsonov, at least expose regrets. Samsonov should say he accept these and that he isn't happy with his reponse (both on and out of the ice). The file will then be closed and the team will win with two lines producing regularly.

  11. 1) Samsonov is working damn hard lately. The effort is there, the confidence isn't. How would you feel if you were one of the top players in terms of intrinsict talent and never played on the first line? Being with Koivu and Ryder would help his nervous system to get back in healt. And for god's sake Carbonneau; try the combination for more than 4 shifts! Four games would barely leave you enough thoughts to bring a clear judgment on such a combination. Samsonov might not go in front of the net all that often, but koivu is often there. Sammy can move the puck fluently accross the ice which would be a plus on that line (Ryder can't do that, koivu merely)

    2) Higgins brought on the second unit with Plecks and Kovalev would give an energy that would likely help to motivate Kovalev.

    3) You end up with two stong scoring lines (on paper at least), one highly reliable line (perez-bonk-johnson) that is flexible and can score goals.

    4) A big energy line that can hit, play defensively and keep the puck deep into the ennemy's zone (Lats-Lapierre-Begin). Not only energetic on paper - just imagine the reacton of the crowd when those three would get on the ice...

    Why hasn't this been tried out (replace begin because he's injured)?????? I don't care if koivu doesn't like Samsonov - force him to!!
