  1. Unfortunately for Carey, the habs have a very laid back October. Many days offf, and I think Huetwould be abel to play the whole month, but I know he won't.

I think Price will play October 26th vs the canes, because every other game has 2-3 days of rest for Huet.

  2. They're still playing at a 2 games a week pace so don't expect Price to get a start for a while. Wait for us to play two games in two nights, then we'll most likely see him in one of those games.

    Or if Huet gets hurt

  3. 1st-MMPL....your pic looks alot like George Parros. I agree 100% that we need grit-aka a fighter, goon, policeman, enforcer. I guess they'll wait until our guys start to get run.

    Yep it is George Perros.

Go onto playoffbeards.com and they have a BUNCH of players drawn up, it's neat.

(Heatly, Pronger, Crosby, Huet, Souray, Neidemayer, Sakic, Alfredson, Sundin, and, Forsberg, to name a few)

  4. I think Toronto was predicted too low by everyone. I see them finishing 4th-5th... they are an improved team.

We have a much better team than Toronto.

Compare all the lines and decide which looks better on paper.

    We have much more youth.

And within a couple years Toronto will be begging for mercy because they will have to play Montreal, Ottawa, and Buffalo a total of 24 games! That would end up like 6-18, for the Laffs.

Trizzak, You think they'll finish 4-5. With injuries (like last year) I see them finishing 8-9.

  5. See I think we have grit in Chips and O'Bryne but as of right now they are nowhere to be found.

When I said grit, I meant Fighting. We need someone to drop the mitsto send a message that we will defend our players.

any real fighter would have taught Suckdin a lesson, and #56 when he tackled Higgs.

  6. Gainey needs to wake up.

We need toughness, only about 255 of our team is willing to fight.

    Prime examples of cowardness:

    1) #56 for Toronto just bulldogged Higgs to the ice for no reason after the whistle, and everyone on the habs just watched it then went to the bench! This is just terrible to watch, our guy sneed to stick up for each other! That really Pissed me off.

    2) Markov. He was punched out by the biggest pussy coward in the league, Suckdin. Nobody was willing to even go after Sundin, Koivu tried tomaybe push him, bu tc'mon drop the gloves and send a god-damn message!!!!!!!

3)Komy. He went to check suckdin, and suckdin high sticked him (cheapshot), with Komy lying down and bleeding, all the habs just watched and let Sundin go and laugh on the bench. :puke:

This team worries me, if we make it to the playoffs, we won't be no Ducks (led league in fights), instead we will be scared of the ducks, or any other team.

  7. On an unrelated note, did anybody notice that Gainey could not remember Aebischer's name in that interview with Ron MacLean on HNIC? He ended up by just saying, '...the other goalie we had...'

    Yeah I did LOL!!!

Ron had to say Aebischer for him, priceless.

"The battle this year for goaltending is much like last year's situation with Huet and... uhh.... the other goalie..."

    - Gainey

  8. Guys who looked bad tonight:

    Breeze-by

    Higgins

    Latendresse

Also some bonehead shot attempts by our D-men that got blocked. You don't shoot with the forward three feet in front of you, for the love of God!!!

Breeze-by didn't look good, same with lats.

But Higgs was great!! He almost got 2 goals and he made a great play to set up Markys shorty.

Be honest, did you watch the game?

  9. Trade Huet and Price turns out to be a dud then what? We've just hobbled our team for years. No, we need to make a package like....

    - Ryder

    - Boullion

    - Halak

And get a real impact forward.

This will only happen if we have a ligit shot at Lord's Stanley and we need the extra offence.

I doubt we will land a nig name this year, but maybe in the offseason.

  10. I don't think Gainey would trade Huet to a team that could take his playoff spot. He's not trading Huet at all though, that I can guarantee, it would be just about as unGaineyish as you can get.

Many teams could use a good goalie to make the playoffs (especially if one gets injured), but I agree that is unGaineyish.

  11. Boo boo had a pretty good game. Are you really blaming him for that crap call? Weak...

The reason they lost is simple. They blew their own PP chances late in the 3rd and in overtime. why not blame Streit and Markov for their crap PP play tonight? How about the give away by Markov for the tying goal? How about Huet?

Let's quit blaming everyone and put the game behind us and move on!

1-0-1 Is pretty damn good guys.

If the media stays positive, the team will and that will lead to a big fat "W" on wednesday.

Well the adrenaline is dying down and i'm thinking more rationally now.

    Ho hum.

This defeat will leave a bitter taste in my mouth until november 3rd, enjoy your day Laffs, enjoy it well, because april is coming around fast. Get those golf clubs polished.

    LOL ^_^

Look at the records and pick which you would rather have:

    1-0-1

    or,

    1-1-1

Yeah the last one went under his arm or something. He didn't play amazing but he far from cost us the game. He played average, how many times do we have to watch the habs get a lead and then sit back and fall apart? You don't stop a slapshot from 10ft away with anything but luck.

Yeah take Tomas Vanek for example, last night break away and he slapped one from top of circle. GOAL.

  12. I'm just not comfortable with Huet in net. Everytime the other team takes a shot, I feel scared. Don't expect Price to get a start anytime soon but I'm sure he'll do well when he gets his chance.

I tend to disagree, Huet is AWFUL at handling the puck, but he is very good at making saves, and stealing games.

He was an all star last season and against Carolina he played great and tonight was alright, but not shaky.

Huet will be put to the test against the Pens on wednesday and I expect some overachieving results.

A goalie is the most important position on the team, and we are set for goalies.

  13. I could see a trade involving Halak.

But here is what I have a bet on:

    Huet to Philly...

Philly is a powerhouse with a garbage Goalie (biron) and Huet would make them, contenders for Lord's stanley.

But I don't know what Gainey wants with trades, draft picks? Offence? Star power??
