  1. I'm sure he does... or maybe "multiple personality." Many laymen confuse schizophrenia with multiple personality...

Forgive my injecting a serious note on a hockey board , and this is just for whoever is interested in the illness, but my younger brother suffers , and I mean suffers from schizophrenia. His case is fairly severe and without the wonderful anti-psychotics, he would be hearing voices and terrified. Such people are amongst the most timid on earth. He is also mildly ######ed and only five feet tall, one of the 'Clowns of God". He is a person who has no bag of tricks and charms to dazzle us; no wealth or great talent, no animal charisma. He has a great heart.

He is in my eyes a great , great man; a man who God has given majesty; the grace to stand up and reach out his hand to others and to get up each day to a world of limited returns. And rise he does every day; sometimes with worries and fears and with no hope of exceptional excitement and interest forthcomign.

I pale into insignificance beside this giant of a man who ever day lifts his burden on to his shoulders; a burden that repels and frightens lesser men like me. He is a sign the divine foolishness to me for his life quietly but certainly pronounces that the last shall be first. This clown of God allows me the insight to occasionally not take my peoccupations too seriously. I salute my brother Geof, a great, great man.

  2. Hey this board is back on track with 8 pages of a game thread against Ottawa, great.

Fns are back behind the team that is on the ice not the

    team that marketing promotes.

Enough of this bring back Kovalev, and other stirred canned soup.

This team is not promising to stardom , no flashes of greatness, they are giving what they have

limited in a system made to minimize scoring chances on both sides.

But it is a team, when we see Spacek ending a play on one leg, when Gionta played with a broken foot so did Gill,

the young players follow MAxPAc and Sergei came back fast minor injuries last night.

So were back with a wounded team, but at least it's a team.

I agree. These guys are a lot of fun lots of nights, and if the Special K's can get really motivated..... lots of fun!

  3. It's easy to pull for a team that gives 100% almost every night (except for those occasional catastrophic games where they mail it in - which happens to all teams now and then in this NHL ridiculous schedule). However, if we lose to Pittsburgh all will be doom and gloom in Habsland again. I'm finding the hysterical schizophrenia especially amusing this season.

It's a funny thing how much we value and need our sports heroes.

  4. He basically said that Gionta being out is the biggest reason the Habs are struggling. Yes, he completely ignored Markov being out.

Gionta was terrific out there. I am pretty happy with the way the team keeps struggling through , given the key injuries. I like this team.

Uncle Bob is a GENIUS!

  5. Actually, Koivu is getting around $2.5M. Which would have actually have left enough to sign Koivu AND Kovolev for another year rather then Gomez.

Didn't Kovalev get a good offer from Bob and not get back to him on it? And while the consensus is that Gomez got too much; which I will accept without knowing much about it, maybe that's what it took to get the ball rolling.

I serioiusly doubt that Uncle Bob didn't know that he was overpaying at the time, but bit the bullet to get things going. I love Koivu and Kovalev (in a manly way) and was especially aggrieved to see Kovy go, but I didn't see us moving on much with Saku as the years go by. We are younger up front. Would Camiilac be here without Gomez and Gionta? I don't know the answer to that question.

    In Bob I trust.

  6. Gee, it was only one game ago that everyone was talking about this plucky, never-say-die bunch that was buying into Martin's system and forging an identity in front of a blossoming young goalie

I propose re-naming this site to BI-POLARWORLD. :hlogo:

I love that idea! I hate it! I love it! I hate it! I love it! I...

  7. Oh well. A bad game.

    NEXT!

He sure seems a gamer alright.

It's time for Jacques Martin to be like Gunnery Sergeant Hartman

Private Pyle has dishonored himself and dishonored the platoon! I have tried to help him, but I have failed! I have failed because you have not helped me! You people have not given Private Pyle the proper motivation! So, from now on, whenever Private Pyle screws up, I will not punish him, I will punish all of you! And the way I see it, ladies, you owe me for one jelly doughnut! Now, get on your faces!

Open your mouth! They're paying for it, you eat it!

    Ready . . . exercise!

One, two, three, four! I love the Habs Corps! One, two, three, four! I love the Habs Corps!

And rifles might have helped last night too.

  8. Oh well. On the bright side it took until December 1st before the the Leaf fans at work and amongst our friends could have a laugh and a roast. It happens every year at sometime.

Good point. If I were more magnanimous, I'd be happier, but I seem content with my shallow horizons.
