  1. Actually Puck, Chow is only due to make 800,000$ this year... the Habs bought out the rest. So it's possible a team might take him for 800K.

Also The Florida Panthers are insane IMO...

Jaroslav Bednar, and Ivan Novoseltsev not protected? They'll forsure be picked up. Also the Leafs left Green unprocted... a little surprising. I wouldn't mind him as a 4th liner instead of Juneau.

News from Atlanta... nothing new as of yet.

    Update...

"Two Atlanta Thrashers were seriously injured late Monday night in a car wreck in downtown Atlanta.

Dan Snyder, 25, was listed in critical condition after suffering severe head injuries and Dany Heatley, 22, was listed in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Snyder suffered a fractured skull and doctors had to perform surgery. Heatley suffered a broken jaw and other bruises. He was reportedly conscious and talking.

According to Atlanta police, the vehicle -- with Heatley at the wheel -- struck a pillar near the Peachtree Lenox Condominiums at 3030 Lenox Road around 11 p.m.

The car was reportedly traveling at speeds upwards of 80 mph. Snyder was ejected from the car and the vehicle was cut in half, authorities said.

Thrashers President Stan Kasten held a press conference around 3 a.m. at Grady and said the team was still planning on holding a practice at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Kasten said he expected to inform the team of the news at that point.

Snyder underwent surgery on his ankle three weeks ago and was placed on the injured list.

Heatley was the NHL Rookie of the Year in 2002 and was voted the MVP of the league All-Star Game last year after collecting four goals.

The Thrashers are set to begin this year's season on Oct. 9"

Doesn't look good for Snyder, I wish him the best though.

And Now TSN has the full story too... I'm off to bed, wishing Snyder the best.

  4. About Zed, he's a first liner or an up and coming first liner. He's increasing his goal total each year he's been here... 19, 22, 31.. I know he played with Saku, but all the other first line wingers played with great centre's too. Zed might not be a superstar first liner but he's forsure a first line winger. Now if he scores 35 this year is he still a 2nd line winger? I dont think so. Zed is just coming into his own... I don't think its fair to say he's a second liner. Also he's VERY accurate from close range, he can roof the puck with ease... he misses a lot of shot because he LIKES to shoot. Zed is a goalscorer a natural too. He loves to shoot the puck, Now I'm not comparing him in anyway to Brett Hull in his prime, but just remember how often Hull missed the net... goal scorers love to shoot from all angles and everywhere on the ice, as Zed does... he in no way shape or form has the hands of Petrov, they are not even in the same league. I know you like Zed and everything... but saying he's a 2nd liner isn't fair. He's as much as a first liner as Martin St. Louis, Owen Nolan, Tony Amonte, Temmu Selanne, Petr Bondra, Simon Gagne and many more. Habs right now have 2 first line players... Zed and Saku and that's it. Bulis, Ribs, Hossa and the rest are second liners at the point.

  5. Ok, We all know Perreault is going to score 6 goals in his first 5 games... that'll give him the second line job.

Ribs back to the 4th... this is what I think we'll look like for game 1, or 2...

    Zednik-Koivu-Audette

    Bulis-Perreault-Sundstrom

    Hossa-Juneau-Ward

    Kilger-Ribs-Dagenais/Dackell

    Dykhuis/Hainsey-Komisarek/Brisebois

    Markov-Rivet

    Souray-Quintal

    Theo

    Garon

Something is really gotta be done about Briser... sigh.

  6. Ryan smith looks like he's up for a big raise... maybe too much for the Oilers. He's exactly the forward we need... the question is what would you give up for him? I'd Send Hossa, Ribs and Dykhuis. That would fit both our needs... wow I love our lines with Smyth.

    Smyth-Koivu-Audette

    Bulis-Perreault-Zednik

    Sundstrom-Juneau-Ward

    4th line who cares.....

Just Juneau being there bugs me but he'll be gone soon enough.
