  1. One can argue till their blue in the face about moves that have been made; one way or the other. The bottom line is that the results, warranted by the famous Montreal Canadiens, have NOT been achieved to date under Bob's tenure. Currently the proceedings look like a train wreck looking for a place to happen.

  2. I don't know why anyone would think you would trade Halak for Turco straight up. You would have to trade salary away, which means it has to be a multiple player trade. That's the only way you are going to obtain your goal of a scoring forward in this deal. Bob isn't going to throw his value away. He needs to get something back.

  3. Given how badly we don't want the Bruins to get a lottery pick from the Leafs and the fact that the Leafs are desperate for a little offense, could we not offer up somebody like Desharnais to set up their man Kessel. We have to make a decision on him at end of year. The compensation could be conditional on how he performs. I like to see the little big man get a true shot. The only down side would that the bulldogs would miss him big time in their Calder run.

  4. Good piece of injury news for once - is there a forward up with the team right now that you think could be supplanted by a healthy Massé?

Thanx! I agree that Masse needs to go to Cinci. The problem I see is that both Hamilton and Cinci are playing pretty well, with a lot of healthy bodies. I would hate to disrupt the chemistry!

  5. Last I'd heard, he was at least another month away and I suspect will go to Cincinnati when he's healthy (to get in game shape at the very least).

That is the same report we got 2 months ago. We are only a few weeks from Feb. Can't we hone down those dates a little closer? Something about Fortier would be good.

  6. I am not a Gomez fan, but why would you trade him unless you are bring in more offense? You need all you can get. You don't want to lose on the defensive end neither. I don't have any problems with Laraque on this roster. There are nights when he needs to be on the roster. The NHL has been going with a 23 man roster for the last few years, the last three guys are marginal as a rule. I remember a game in Toronto this year when Orr was getting a little pushy; George went over and give him a little push, and that ended the story.

  7. We'll never get a top-5 prospect for Halak. Or Price for that matter.

Somebody has a very optimistic view of the value of our goaltenders. I doubt if you would get more than a middle to late pick for Price at this time. More of a concern to me, is how they play their goaltenders. Halak was MVP for month of Dec. and has just come off a shout-out. You can bet that Price will be in net against NJ because of his PI in the sky potential. Why not just play the hot goalie?

Let the on ice performance determine who plays.

  8. Next year you can bet your house that Mara will not be back. Neither will Stewart and the habs will either try to give Larque away or buy him out. Just with these 3 guys, you can save 2.7 million$ Bob will most likely try to trade/give away hamrlik and his 5.5 million$ salary. He will only have 1 year left on his contract, so many teams will be interested in his services, especially since he's been playing very well this year. Hamrlik and mara will be replaced with Subban and Weber. Not only will we save money, but the team will be younger!

With the money saved they can resign both Plex and Carey Price.

Next to Markov, Plex is our best player. He will not be going anywhere unless a knock out offer comes back. Unless something drastically changes, we will not make the play-offs. Look for us to sell unless we move up considerably and have chance to do some damage in play-offs.
