Man, those MTL forward lines are puzzling...?
It's time to redo the top 6:
Radulov - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Pacioretty - Shaw - Byron
And shuffle the bottom 6:
Carr - Plekanec - Hudon
Danault - Mitchell - Terry
Sorry Desharnais....
I was close. Lines appear to be:
Byron - Galchenyuk - Radulov
Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gallagher
Hudon - Desharnais - Shaw
Danault - Mitchell - Terry
$&#%@ we are weak down the middle...

Glad to see Hanley was sent back to the IceCaps for Barberio. He really didn't look good in the 5 games he played.
I expect Barberio to be better defensively and is a better option for the 6th/7th d-man spot.

Hudon didn't help himself by taking a penalty with less than five minutes to go. Emelin's hit at the end wasn't a smart move either - the game was pretty much over at that point (a couple of tenths left on the clock). Hanley wound up playing all of 6:33 - I suspect Pateryn will be back in for the next game.
When will Redmond be back? This Pateryn/Hanley platoon is bothersome - both players seem lost on the ice.

Calgary laughs at that.
Just trying to bump this thread. And I've noticed it's a lot easier to bash trades than suggest them it would seem.

Another Saturday night, another win! Looking forward to when Lehkonen and Flynn come back so the lines get put back to normal.

Although it was a very boring period, it was a great one by the Habs who kept Carolina quiet for almost the entire frame. Hudon's having a nice game, better than what Andrighetto was bringing.
Is Andrighetto done? Once Lehkonen/Flynn come back, he gets sent down but does he need to pass through waivers again?
-
Okay, I will attempt a trade...
To MTL:
- Dougie Hamilton, D
- 5th round pick, 2018
To CGY:
- David Desharnais, C
- Nathan Beaulieu, D
- Sven Andrighetto, F
-
Hudon with an assist. Mark my words, Desharnais won't be on the Habs by Christmas - there are simply better options (like Hudon) that fill his spot and are cheaper. Desharnais needs a change of scenery and a fresh start somewhere else.

Shaw is so bad man
Really? I like his game. I see him as a better Prust, and every team needs a Prust.

I never thought I'd see a lineup that has Gallagher, Byron, Desharnais, Andrighetto, Terry and Hudon.
Talk about small...
-
The only other change I'd like to see is McCarron in for Andrighetto.

What I would complain about it simply the number and length of delays in hockey games today. Between coach's challenges, TV time outs, and general recourse to video review any time there is the slightest doubt, it seems like every game drags on needlessly. Just empower the damned refs and move on.
Agreed. Being at the game it was utterly ridiculous how long this coach's challenge took. Crowd was really pissed and it zapped quite a bit of momentum from the period. Players left the bench to do laps on the ice while we all waited and the refs acted like taking 10 min to figure what should have ultimately been called a goal because of inconclusive video evidence made them look stupid.

Sitting on the train heading home after the game. What a game it was! I proudly wore my new Weber jersey. Top 5 jerseys that I saw tonight:
Price
Galchenyuk
Gallagher
Weber
Pacioretty
I saw one person wearing a Subban jersey (!) - and without fail, saw one Cammalleri jersey. For a guy who only played two years in MTL, I see his jersey at every game. Crazy.

Gallagher is gonna ride pine for rest of the 3rd for that stupid high-sticking call. Bonehead move.

Gallagher has no shots in this game.

It's interesting you say that - only two of his seven shot attempts have actually hit the net. The Habs are certainly missing the net on quite a few high quality chances though, hopefully that doesn't come back to bite them.
Ya, but he scored. Petry fires canons that never hit the net and the forwards have missed golden opportunities. Game should be 4-0 MTL. Price let in a softie when his stick broke.
-
Besides Weber, nobody can hit the net. Pathetic.

What is happening.
Shaw has done nothing to deserve power play time.
I understand you need a guy to be in front of the net, but give it to Danault or Mitchell.
Shaw wins faceoffs, that's why he's there.

It would have to go both ways. If a player gets a + on the PP then the other team should receive a - on the PK as well. Neither do though.
Personally, I'm happy I'm not a Leafs fan. Sure they have some exciting kids but there's no proof of anything championship caliber as of yet. It was an exciting time to be Edmonton fan 5 years ago as well and that did nothing for them. The Leafs definitely are a quick team and I actually agreed with Petry's statement about not getting into a run and gun game with them after I witnessed some of that in the second period. They're going to have a tough game against teams with a real defensive structure though and I don't have any faith that they're going anywhere any time soon.
Leafs need a stud on D. I bet they go after PK Subban hard...

PP/PKs don't count for +/-.
Really? I thought on a PP it did. Man, I've been asleep for years then. What a revelation....

Weber comes through again with another GWG. They played better in the third but they relied on Price too much for my liking tonight. Still, a win's a win, seven in a row now.
Shouldn't Weber get a +1 for his GWG on the powerplay? Stats sheet have him finishing the game at 0.

We had a rivalry with Hartford? I must have missed that week.
And it was a great week too! MTL swept them in the 1989 Adams Division Semi-Finals.

Montreal-Tamba Bay is the new Montreal-Hartford rivalry.

Hudon looks decent so far, and I agree, great pass.
