the Det game was on OLN and the annoucers there basically said they felt that samsonov is taking Gui's ice time and carbo would be better off having Gui on the 2nd line and having sammy sit. ... I tend to agree because even if Gui doesn't score he provides alot more to the line than sammy does while he's not scoring.

Man, the first thing I did the first time I opened EHM was exlore all the tabs and find out what all I could do with them. The tabs are right there in plain view, so it's fairly obvious they're all important in one way or another.
haha ... true ... but i didn't even notice those tabs on the bottom

Come on. How can you use EHM and not know where the standings tab and options are?
I suggest you sit down and examine each tab in the game. You might actually learn something.
Actually I didn't even actually find the standings tab until recently .. PTG go to standings .. make sure your viewing all then look near the bottom and there are 4 buttons and one is AHL team standings ... that's it

They probably shouldn't even play a game anymore .... they should just make it a big skills compitition .. each team can send there three best players ( shooter, skater, goalie, etc ) ... just celebrate the game and get the fans actually involved with contests and games ... have average people go one on one's with real goalies ( of course fans that can actually play alittle ) etc ... something like that .... a game doesn't really mean anything ... unless they wanted to make it an outdoor pond game or something different like that.
Or better yet .. make it like a nascar event ... where they use a football stadium .. have a bunch of tail gate parties ... make like 6-8 rinks on the field / or outside and have the pro players actually take the time to help people learn how to play the game and interact with fans. would be something different
then maybe have a real game like they did with that outdoor mtl vs. edm game. -

Although I personally would try to move sammy ... I don't think Carbo has really giving him a chance ... now don't take my head off but why can't he try different lines ? scoring has been terrible lately for ALL the lines ... why not change it completely up and see what happens.
I would do this
Lats , Koivu , Kovalev
Sammy , Higgins , Ryder
Pleck , Bonk , Johnson
Streit , Begin , Perez
I would leave the D the way it is for now ... splitting Sammy and Kovy needs to happen .. they both try to hold onto the puck too long and niether one want's to get open or drive the net.

I was at the Kings vs Wings game last night and there were missed calls all over the place for BOTH teams. It happens ... the refs are not perfect .. and YES I've been a ref before .. it's not an easy job. The only people that lost this game were the Habs players and no one else. Where was the offense ? no where to be found from what I saw.
If the Habs want to win a cup they're going to have to over come things like this. if they don't then they won't be a good playoff team.
Aebischer4life .. don't come in here and start ranting and raving , cursing up a storm .. talk about the game , the refs , the calls ... but be civilized k ... if you don't like how the refs do things then go to ref school and take they're job and ref the games yourself.

You don't have a right to own one as in constitutional speaking. Its a choice a bad one but there is no right that says I can drive whatever I want and not get consquences from driving it. So don't be surprised when you have to pay higher taxes because you drive a higher polluting vehicle. This idea of I can drive whatever I want and you can't make me bull is typical close minded thinking thats made this continent's transportation choices archaic and out of date. we are still in this fantasy land of thinking, that what I and you do doesn't not overall effect on the world. Couldn't be more wrong.
Well when the car manufacturers decide to come out with an SUV or Truck that can perform as well as they do now without any omissions , doesn't use gas and cost the same or less, then I'm sure everyone would scoop them up

Hopefully Kotsy can develop into a Marian Hossa type player .. he's got the frame and the shot ... if he can stay committed to playing like he is now by driving the net and being a power forward ... he'll be a top 2 line player next season for sure ... if not , then he will unfortunately become another Marcel Hossa

Not quite. He was only called for kneeing because Peca was injured and it automatically got him ejected. Watching the replay...you will see that Vandermeer was looking to hit peca squarely with his shoulder but Peca tried to hop out of the way and their knees collided. He did not go for his knee.
I haven't seen the replay but if what you guys say is what happened then Peca should have taken the hit ... sound like he exposed his limbs when he should have just taken the hit in the shoulder / chest ... I think that most of the time it's safer to take the hit than try to avoid one.

The change looks nice and I will truly hope for a contraction of two teams, which I know wont happen but I did say hope.
I'm sure they'd rather add two teams than subtract two.

Playoffs:
The top 4 point earning teams in the conference get spots seeded 1-4 by points.
The next 4 point earners play a best of 3 series 5 v. 8 and 6 v. 7 for the bottom two spots.
The #1 and #2 seeds get a bye on the first round, the others play 3 v. 6 and 4 v. 5.
#1 plays the winner of 4 v. 5, and #2 plays the winner of #3 v. #6.
Very similar to the NFL system, and while I don't agree that this is "americanizing," I think that this system guarantees better matchups in the later rounds (and that brings several different advantages), and makes it tougher for there to be no-name, "how'd they get here" stanley cup finals matchups. There is more motivation to get into the top seeds in the regular season.
This wouldn't work ... the top two teams would not want to have two weeks or more off after the season to wait and see who they play because they get a bye

Here is the main problem. SPEED ! the team is supposed to have it but it doesn't use it. Think about it .. in the "New NHL" isn't speed supposed to dominate ? if it is why are the Habs LAST in power plays for ? If they were truly using they're speed wouldn't they be first in the league ? The team has so much speed but yet they're 6th in penalties. WHY ? if your faster than the other guy why hook ? hold ? etc. it's because they're lazy , out of position.
I still think the lack of size on this team is killing them ... even in the "new NHL" size still matters. size and speed is what the good teams have.
