Regardless of the goal missed by the ref 0/3 in the shootout isn't going to get it done.
Baffled that demidov wasn't used. Laine was shit tonight. Not just the results but the effort and lack of engagement. He's gone when his deal is up. He brings nothing other than the one timer on the pp.
I guess there's a pecking order and MSL can't give the rookie too much.

I think you have to try
Laine - Newhook - Demidov
and if it doesn't work then you go from there.... but you have to at least give that line a chance.Yep
Nothing else makes sense.
Laine need someone to get him the puck in shooting positions

Who's worth more in a trade, Devo or Evans?
-
Ultimately it depends what the return is. If it's a good piece and Evans has made it clear he's going for max dollars then you have to trade him.
If the return is poor maybe keeping him and letting him walk later still has benefits for building team culture and having the players play some more meaningful games

Will Evans be here on Thursday for our next game?
I don't think he gets traded unless the return is really good. Moving him would be a tough blow for the group and it gives more time to negotiate.
You can't sign him at any price but if he leaves we'll instantly be looking for the exact same type of player.

That was beyond passive.
Made it way to easy for buffalo

I'm not even watching the game but just saw Dach scored. Thats huge for him, he needed it.
-
Gallagher has been great!
He's on pace for over 30, and that's playing with the scraps.
His previous years of over 30 goals were playing with Danault who was really underrated.

I liked what I saw from mailloux
-
Devorack looked terrible at the end of the game.
No effort, no compete
-
The players must know that there are a few shifts in the game that are more important than others. The first and last minute of each period and the next shift after you score a goal.

Just because it's Stutzle, I assume he embellished as well

Went to the pool today.
Put my cloths in locker 5 and swam in lane 5.
Hopefully this will add some good juju to the fifth pick.

What he is doing in the mens league in Finland is special... and its at both ends of the ice. Now hes also doing it in the exhibition games for the Mens world Championships. Our full report is up at Lwos though.
And i dont go by what other sites have. I try to look at it independently, its why we had Quinn Hughes much higher than other sites and Mike McCarron as a third round pick.
Aho sounds great, obviously everyone would love to have that kind of player on the team. I would hope that the #2 player in the draft will be producing a little more than 60-70 points but it's still good if the defense is there.
Do you see him as more of a center or winger in the NHL?
Should we expect him to be playing in the NHL for the start of the 25-26 season regardless of who takes him?
What are other people missing who have him around the 8 spot?

Helenius is number 2 in my rankings.
Which have started to be posted by the way.
We have 6 up.
What are you seeing in Helenius that puts him at 2?
Most draft lists have him outside the top 5

What happened between these two?

If he leaves in the near future, i could see him playing with MacKinnon in Colorado.
I doubt he leaves though
They are good friends and the Avs are legitimate contenders, I could see it.

If the Pens miss the playoffs this season, or get killed in the first round, things get very awkward for Dubas in Pittsburgh.
Entering this season their roster was already the oldest by average age (by over a year!) ... they have 13 NHLers under contact for 24/25 and $18M of cap space ... but at least half of that will go to re-signing Guentzel (if they even can) ... the other 6 of their top 7 scorers are already over 30 (3 over 35, one w/b 34 next season) ... so not much cap flexibility or logic to start "adding" for next season.
So while I expect Crosby wants to finish his career in Pittsburgh, if they approach him and ask him to help jump-start a rebuild then perhaps he agrees to be traded.
So you think if he hits UFA in the summer of 2025 he's not looking around the league and just resigns in Pittsburgh at a discount?
I think he still the desire and drive to win and may eagerly chase a cup elsewhere.
-
Who thinks Crosby leaves Pittsburgh to chase one more cup before his career is done?
I hope he leaves. He's still such a good player and the Penguins are clearly declining.
Montreal in 2025-26 would be cool as we might be good by then but I would be happy to see him go to any contending team so we can see him in the playoffs.

2/3 isn't a huge sample size.
I was going off how the players looked tonight. One looked good and the other one not so much.
Cole and Nick missed too so can't put it all on Laine
