Unbias does not mean that someone can’t be passionate/emotional. Someone can be unhappy about the opposition scoring but can still provide good commentary about the goal.

Commentators must be unbias. Their job is to comment on the game. A bias commentator does not communicate the events properly. I hate the American commentators because they are the worse but not the only ones. I find the French CBC - commentators to be the least bias and most professional. One more thing, why do commentators feel they need to be stand up comedians?

Luongo was fighting the puck all night long. The entire team did not play well. Brodeur is the best by a good margin. Not only does he stop the puck but he exude (SP?) confidence and is the best puckhander.

Souray is worth $3MM! The reason he only got $3MM/yr is because he has not shown consistency. PS Theo should have been in goals for Cda. He had a better training camp than Luongo..

Just happy the US is out and Koivu is in. Can't wait to watch the game on Tuesday. I'm worried for Cda because Luongo even though Luongo stopped a lot of rubber he did not look sharp on Saturday.

If they (players/team) srcew it up bad enough maybe those team in the weak USA market might come back "home". Maybe it is not a bad thing if hockey does not grow to Gary B.'s vision. The game sucks right now because there is not enough talent to support 30 teams. Maybe a step back is a good thing. BUT this likely lockout is done at the expense of fans! Puzzled!

There is no ideal lines at this point since we do not know a lot but here is one idea: Bulis - Koivu - Kovalev Zednik - Ribeiro - Ryder Dowd- Bonk - Begin ???? - Sundstrom - Ward I think of all the potential young players that could come up and there style and i get bogged down. To properly develop an offensive talent they need to play on the first 2 lines. The prospects that are more of a defensive or grinder type can be insert in the 3rd and 4th line. I kind of like Bulis on the first line. I think Z can get a lot of goals with Robeiro. Robeiro is purely a set-up guy and Z is a pure scorer with a nice release. Who knows? Maybe not.

I though Canada played a GREAT 1st period. Than in the 2nd, Canada let the American get under their skin. I found the American were dirty, - running the goalie, hits from behind and more. Finally, Canada underperformed in the 3rd. I don't expect a ref to call everything but I perceived them to favour the US. These games are not meaningful and teams are using them to tweak their team but the reality is that US will not make it to the final with that team (less Modano).

Like other teams Montreal has a chance to win the cup but they are not contenders. Dynasty is defined as a team that wins a string of cups (was Detroit a Dynasty in the past 10 years?). A lot of teams make it to the cup final (win or lose) that were not contenders. Calgary, Anaheim, Carolina and Buffalo are/were not contenders. Montreal will be good this year (if the play) and will continue to get better as the young player mature. However, I would not define them as contender. Go Habs Go

Perreault cannot be on the fourth line because 4thline players need to be big strong grinding type of players. A finesse player in theory should only play on the first 2 lines (maybe 3rd).

I love the Habs but I don't care how you define "contender" they are not contender. Way too much unproven youth. For Montreal to have a good year (100 points) there will be a need for a lot of players to step up - The moon, the planets and the stars will need to be align.

Perreault is soft, not a leader, has limited ability and is a defensive liability. The minuses are greater than the positive. BUT he is a nice guy.

Perreault has some value (face-off) but if I was a young team looking for veteran leadership I would not get Perreault. Perreault may go to one of those team that has no direction like St-Louis.

I like the article but I question that the Habs will be contenders soon. The youth have a lot to prove yet. There is a lot of promising youth but they are not there yet and some will not make it to the NHL. I love to see the team improve year over year over year and hope that we can be considered contenders in the near future. For this to happen some youth have to step up and be stars.

This is bull. The only diff. between him and the other guy was that P actually connected, while retaliating. If someone tried to decapitate me during a game (given the heat of the moment) I would try to make the initiator pay. Hopefully he can play in the NHL if there is a season.

Dowd should be resigned because he brings qualities that are lacking in the team. He is a good grinder with some skills. Presently the Habs are too solf! Habs fan in Leaf land
