  1. In reply to above. Yes - and I find that even with the current D core, that they have the ability to make a good first pass. The times when those first passes don't work so well - the forward is up the ice too much. When they are close together, they make quick passes and skate up as a unit. Yeah it's kinda like the flying V. Hehe.

I think a lot of what Bruce Lee said about Martial Arts applies to hockey.

"The highest technique is to have no technique. My technique is a result of your technique; my movement is a result of your movement. A good JKD man does not oppose force or give way completely. He is pliable as a spring; he is the complement and not the opposition to his opponent’s strength. He has no technique; he makes his opponent's technique his technique. He has no design; he makes opportunity his design. One should not respond to circumstance with artificial and "wooden" prearrangement. Your action should be like the immediacy of a shadow adapting to its moving object. Your task is simply to complete the other half of the oneness spontaneously." - Bruce Lee

I think when they go down a goal, they get ' artificial and "wooden" ' and forget "the system", which is really just a spontaneity of the opponents "non perfection" in any of the three zones of play. That's why the players are talking about their play, and not the opponents play in the interviews.

Yeah this post is kinda "spiritual' yet, you have to understand yourself, and for a team game, they have to act as one - not individuals. There is no I in team, as it's said.

If anything is the problem, it was mentioned in this thread somewhere - it's the emotional response to getting scored on. They loose faith with the "system" which isn't really a system - it's trust in themselves and their abilities.

  2. Alrighty. Been reading and watching the players comments. Plekanec "I'm sure we'll win and fans will be happy and they will stop trading half the team and fire the coach again". LOL

A win against the Leafs would be HUGE.

As for me getting upset at JM last night... well, he's got more time to add some W's to the stats.

The next 5 games will give more insight into how the team reacts to the slow start.

    Toronto

    Philly

    Florida

    Boston x2

    70% is needed.

  3. Wow, a lot of panic on here tonight! Just hoping we come out with a solid effort 3rd period.

I just want to see the Habs play well.

Like have you noticed that other teams have break out players...and the Habs have only had...... Plekanec as a breakout player, mainly because of his TWO- WAY play. Okay - Max Pac can make a case, as with Subban. Yet I don't know, I see the Pens with this James Neil? or whatever with 7 goals... and I'm like.. what? He is out scoring anyone on our team with goals alone.. granted they've played more games....

    Alrighty, 3rd period puck drop...

    GO HABS GO!!!!

  4. Me to, this is bad... I really try not to blame the coach for things, because I find they take to much flak in general, but I am done defending this guy.

I feel the same way. And the reason is because, the Habs, in my opinion, have the tools to win games. You know, it wasn't JMs system that led the Habs on that cup run 2 years ago, it was the pride of the players, and Jaro Halak. If it wasn't for Halak actually... ugh.. the system is a lie!!!

We need change. They don't have Crosby and Malkin.. we don't have Markov and Gomez? (Campoli and Spaceman too). The D kids aren't perfect yet we can't have old guys on the back end forever, and I think they have what it takes.

    New coach for sure...

  5. Sometimes you need that awesome individual effort to spark the team.. where is the game changer? Who will it be?

i shouldnt be writing tonight..... huge plate of pasta, drinking wine and am very angry.....

    its easy... the 1st unit

L- subban R- diaz half boards cammi down low plex left boards kosty!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm starting to think there is a reason JM never won the cup. I'm starting to not like him.

  6. Simmer's Notes: - If you send multiple lines, you need to label them with the dates they need to be used. Not just 1, 2, 3 etc

Kay. For some reason I mixed up the teams I was playing against. My rookies almost beat what looks like an NHL St.Louis team, lost 3-2, then got hammered by Chicago 3-0 by NHL lines. Oh well, my next game is against Columbus so I'll be able to ice some rookies again.

  7. Hey guys, I have all the latest files, and everything in order, but my roster file is from 2002. There is no newer file that I see. Im on windows 7 64 bit. Any help?

Sounds similar to what I went through.

The first step on a fresh install is to start the game (run as admin), then make a save file named HWL. Then in the root directory there will be a /saves file, where a new HWL folder is, the updated game files go there.

I'm on Vista, I was doing a few things wrong....

1- I didn't make an original save file in the "saves" directory in EHM.

2- I didn't run the program as "run as administrator"

3- I replaced he updates in the wrong folder all toghether, instead of replacing the files in C://program files/eastside hockey manager/saves/HWL I replaced all the files in C://program files/eastside hockey manager

    Maybe this helps.

  8. And anybody playing Columbus. Take it easy on them. It's going to be a TON of prospects and 1st year players.

I've got Columbus and Atlanta this week. I'll call up some AHL players and ice my prospects for the week.

Just realized Atlanta is Winnipeg! Which means I'll Ice some NHL regulars..
