  1. Final player amounts too because I was curious (and stalling on cleaning up my pigpen of a living space). Done from most to least.

  2. I think I might actually just post the file the same way we post sims. I'll still write recaps and stuff to keep it interesting for myself (because if I just make into another simming job, I'll get sick of it pretty quickly) but I'll just write a legend letting you know who is what team.

    Actually I'll just do that now, it's easy enough to figure out on your own anyway. I've got to clean my place up because I haven't touched it in a month and I'm living in a pigpen but I'll sim the first round of games afterwards. I'll do like a top 10 scoring leaderboard too.

    Anaheim = Canada

    Winnipeg = USA

    Boston = Russia

    Buffalo = Sweden

    Calgary = Czech Republic

    Carolina = Finland

    Chicago = Slovakia

    Colorado = Potluckistan

    The first matchups are:

    USA @ Sweden

    Potluckistan @ Czech Republic

    Canada @ Finland

    Russia @ Slovakia

  3. I didn't know "plays well" meant "He's a stud and will win a Norris"

    Avs fans are happy with what he brings. We spent years with offensive defencemen under 6 feet tall. O'Byrne was a nice breath of fresh air. He was a top 4, almost top 2 guy last year (but was hands down our best d-man all year) but the front office spent the off-season remodelling the whole corps so yeah, he's back down to the third pairing. Doesn't mean he's bad.

  4. To Detroit - Anton Babchuk CON: 81

    To San Jose - Phil Young CON: 77

    Matt Niskanen CON: 78

    DET 1st 2018

    Detroit does this for a couple reasons. I've had Young up on the block trying to dump him for a while now and couldn't find takers. He's been out of the lineup for a while and I need room for Geoffrion so I'm happy to trade him without getting a forward back. Niskanen is the last of the offensive d-men I wanted to send packing as soon as I took over the team, I couldn't be happier to get the huge upgrade on him in Babchuk. The 1st is to make up the difference in talent between Niskanen and Babchuk. No one is retiring so I'm confident it will be another late one.

    Thanks to Mike for the easy negotiations!

  5. I'm getting horrible flashbacks to when we went over the limit for the allowable number of players because we just pasted the info into the players.ehm file.

    This hasn't been forgotten, I'm hoping.

    Wait, really? When did that happen?

    Not even trying to make a joke, I totally don't remember that.

  6. Oh hey, it kinda does. Haha.

    The trailer was released an hour ago:

    Looks like the controls are the same which sort of sucks but Leon's back so I will still probably love it. I've loved every game Leon's been in.

  7. Also, for those curious, the current roster ratings are:

    Canada - 91-90-87

    USA - 86-87-84

    Russia - 88-85-84

    Sweden - 84-85-82

    Czech Republic - 86-83-83

    Finland - 83-84-82

    Slovakia - 73-75-74

    Potluckistan - 80-79-78

    And heres an updated version of this

  8. Oh also, Dallas finishes as the only team being represented by all countries.

    Detroit is sending Zetterberg, Nemisz (This was totally a biased pick, I won't even deny it), Kazakov, Tyutin, Gaborik and Major

    Colorado is sending Thornton, Kanatov, Jurcina, Montoya, Komisarek and Kronwall

  9. No Tavares or Stamkos??? Just Latendresse? I don't know who you'd kick off the team but I figured they'd make it.

    Seriously, which of those C's do you kick off for them? I had to leave Simon Gagne off too and he's better than both of them.

    If you'd had Stamkos as a RW instead, he totally would've made it over Lupul.

  10. TEAM CANADA

    canadian-flag-waving.jpg

    Rick Nash (Tampa Bay Lightning) - Sidney Crosby (Carolina Hurricanes) - Bobby Hughes (St.Louis Blues)

    Daniel Rondeau (Nashville Predators) - Alexander Legrand (Buffalo Sabres) - Joffrey Lupul (Tampa Bay Lightning)

    Ron Manson (Vancouver Canucks) - Joe Thornton (Colorado Avalanche) - Guillaume Latendresse (Winnipeg Jets)

    Andrew Ladd (New York Rangers) - Nathan Horton (Florida Panthers) - Greg Nemisz (Detroit Red Wings)

    Eric Staal (Carolina Hurricanes)

    Cam Barker (Chicago Blackhawks) - Jay Bouwmeester (Florida Panthers)

    Dion Phanuef (Calgary Flames) - Braydon Coburn (Minnesota Wild)

    Denis Gervais (Tampa Bay Lightning) - Luc Bourdon (Edmonton Oilers)

    Alex Pietrangelo (Dallas Stars)

    Boris Vandenboer (Columbus Blue Jackets)

    Carey Price (Phoenix Coyotes)

    Steve Mason (Ottawa Senators)

    I went goofy for the USA picture so I figured it only fair if I do the same for Canada.

  11. I didn't even look at my schedule, let alone send lines. If I knew I had two road games on back to back nights, I would've.

    But I'm impressed Kazakov managed to win both of them. The shutouts have been piling up for him ever since I acquired Plante. My record since getting him too is 11-1-0-3. Been a giant boost to the team.

  12. Can't say I disagree with too many selections (on the top teams, there really are a lot of interchangeable parts) but I'm a little disappointed that Slavomir Pancak (66-66-67) didn't crack Slovakia but Radoslav Nejedly, a 28 year old 55-45-58 guy did.

    Nejedly is a C, Pancak a RW.

    I kept players at the positions they're listed at for the sake of making it easier on myself.

  13. Jeeze Winnipeg is on a string of no players making the cut. Only American I think of is Brooks Oprik, and he's better than Mitera. Damn politics.

    Mitera is way more versatile. I can't just call someone up for an injury so I wanted their 7th D to be able to play in a variety of situations. Orpik is limited as hell when it comes to offense. He was considered though. Plus Mitera is the highest OA d-man in the game, for some reason. I figured that should count for something. Only half of these teams do you actually get to choose what direction you want to go in. The other 4, you're basically stuck with whats there, like it or not.

    Draft maker, put more high talent Slovakians in the draft. Like 4 or 5 of them. I feel bad for them.

    And with Vrbata, he had the same problem as Daniel Sedin. The scoring slots on their teams filled up before I got to their names so they got passed over.

    Also these lines aren't final, they're just the order in which I picked them. Things will be adjusted before I sim. Example: Since the 1st line will be ruinning R&G. Quick and Bogosian will be the #1 D pairing for the States.

  14. TEAM USA
