  1. Sufficet to say, we have little to worry in the pipes since the days of Racciot (oh Red-Light, where are you now...)

I still remember his first game. It was against the leafs. He gave up 3 goals on the first 6 shots before they pulled him and put Roy in. We lost 6-3 and Ed Olczyk scored a hat-trick. The horror.....the horror......

  2. I really think Havlat can be a top 10 scorer in the league.

He has all the skill, passing and shooting ability in the world, only now he'll play on the first line, first power play unit and with a decent center in Handzus.

He was really underrated in Ottawa. Without him, they became a 1 line team. That's a big reason why they weren't as good in the second half of the season.

If he stays healthy, he may be able to crack 90 pts

I hope he does, just to see Sens fans pull their hair out after that trade. Remember when they traded Pavol Demitra for Christer Olsson?

  3. I ran the gamut of local, organized hockey in my day. And in that time a consistent correlation I made is smaller the waist :: gluts ratio, the stronger the skater. Inflated looking and usually undefined muscles are a good indiction of fast-twitch fibres for power type contractions.

    We've all seen Bonk skate.

But in honour of your subject turn: I bet you "can't tell" when another guy's good looking too, huh? :D

So if I understand correctly, a bubble butt is a good thing for a hockey player?

  4. . He was without the trademark hockey player bubble butt, but rather slender from top to bottom in a fitted, casual Montreal get up.

    ....

He soon after got up -- evidencing a very apparent bubble butt (lol) -- dashing off to beat the crowd. Bonk followed suit, while Koivu remained seated, seemingly without any concern for fan hoarding.

So....... you looked at their butts?

  5. Please international habs fans, don't let your country polarize itself. Sadly I think Canada is next to get the polarization bug. Because the Cons got into power critizing the Liberals (rightly or wrongly). And now that they are in power are still yelling at the Liberals. The problem is this creates polarization of party ideals on a grass roots level. These anti Liberal spats turn to hate. We don't need Hate in politics. Because now I can't even speak to my aunts and unlces because of my political views. If I did I'd be silenced and asked to go home and never come back. Its there way or the highway. Hating leads to isolation. Please don't hate own members of your population because they like or have different views from you.

A country doesn't get polarized because of one party. It works both ways. Look up the definition of the word polarization.

  6. I'd like to see Carbonneau give Samsonov a chance on the shootout. He has mad dangles.

Yeah, I'm just afraid that if we used him in a shootout, he would pass instead of shooting.

I think Ryder should be taken off the shootout list. To me he reminds me of a player who shouldn't be doing shootouts. He reminds me of a Defencemen doing a shootout. D-men don't do shootouts unless his last name is Orr.

    So instead of

    Saku

    Kovy

    Ryder

    maybe replace ryder with higgins?

    no?

Because if the first two games are any indications we're going to be in a lot of shootouts this year. And getting that extra point is crucial.

Well actually Higgins was one of the shooters last night. And he scored a beauty. Both teams had one goal in the first three attempts, so Ryder was our fourth guy, and he won it.

  7. I believe you're thinking of Kelly Hrudey, who played for LA the year the Habs beat them in the finals for their last Stanley Cup.

I don't believe that Glen Healy faced the Habs that season, since he played for the Islanders then. He was a Maple Leaf for the end of his career, so he probably picked up the typical disdain for the Habs that all Leafs do. I remember watching him diss the Habs strongly on a couple of occasions during the past 2 seasons, so I know he's biased against them.

We beat the Islanders in the Conference final on our way to the Cup in '93. Not only did we beat them, we thoroughly manhandled them in 5 easy games. Thanks in part to the lacklustre goaltending of one Glen Healy, a man whose career was defined by mediocrity.

    You're a bigger man than I am.

The Leafs could go down in a fiery plane crash and it wouldn't change my day one bit.

Well, I might go stand in the memorial service in my 45'-46' vintage Habs jersey and face paint :D

I would go to the memorial service wearing my Habs jersey and kick every leaf supporter in attendance in the pills.

  8. Well I'm excited that we won. It really would have left a bad taste in my mouth if we had lost, having to wait til wednesday before our next game. Now, having said that, somebody has to tell Samsonov to just shoot the damn puck once in a while! Did you see with 2 seconds left in the 3rd and he had the puck in close to the net and he passed to the point?! It's a good thing we didn't use him in the shootout, he probably would have been looking for a pass.

  9. OKAY...Boys, we've vented enough...

I think we should start thinking about tommorow night against TORONTO.

I hope the boys get some rest, they worked incredibly hard tonight.

Yes, a good manhandling of the laughs should take care of this pain and misery. And if we come out with the same intensity and speed as we did tonight, we should easily be able to thrash that pathetic excuse for a hockey team.

  10. And don't forget that Buffalo scored a goal in the first period that was waived off - it should have counted. That alone should compensate for any problems we have with the refs. The Sabres fans were going crazy in the 3rd period throughout that string of penalties. We really can't complain about officiating.

    Outreffed I say, outreffed!!
