  1. David B - showing what a true rebuilding process should look like: no gutting, competing every year, astute trades

Thanks Colin, I do take pride in how I did my rebuilding. I'm not one to completely blow it up, trade all of my good assets, ignore my team all season in hope of getting the 1st overall pick only to fall to 3rd OA after the lottery.

  2. ANA vs VAN - Anaheim in 4.

CHI vs SJ - Chicago in 6.

EDM vs LA - Edmonton in 6.

STL vs DAL - St. Louis in 7.

OTT vs NYR - Ottawa in 6.

CAR vs TB - Carolina in 6.

NYI vs TOR - Toronto in 5.

MTL vs WAS - Washington in 4. plus I am rooting for the Caps to get the spot.

  3. Vancouver Canucks

    40 W, 34 L, 4 OTL, 4 T, 88 Pts

Finished: 16th in the league, 8th in the conference, 2nd in the Division

    Goals For: 260 (16th)

    Goals Against: 244 (12th)

    PP: 21.51% (12th)

    PK: 74.10% (29th)

    Awards:

    Most Goals: Marian Gaborik (33)

    Most Assists: Benoit Pouliot (45)

    Most Points: Benoit Pouliot (75)

    Best Plus/Minus: Benoit Pouliot (+34)

Most Penalty Minutes: Jason Nigh (181)

    Most Hits: Joni Pitkanen (284)

    Most Takeaways: Joni Pitkanen (219)

Most Shots Blocked: Andrej Meszaros (84)

    Best Rating: Joni Pitkanen (8.04)

Unsung Hero: Newcomers Radek Smolenak & Michael Blunden both set new career bests in points putting up 63 & 55 lead the way followed closely by Mikko Heiskanen who with 4th line & 1st PP unit time for the majority of the season quietly notched 51 points.

Future Stars: Ron Manson, I never really knew what I would get out of Manson or how to get it with his low CON of 25 but he showed all year that he is a true superstar in waiting in our league. Manson put up 18 goals & 41 assists & staying on the plus side of the plus/minus going +11. The feisty winger also led the team with 25 scraps & winning 18 of them.

MVP: Joni Pitkanen is the MVP this year. Brought so much to this team that was soooooo missing, Joni set a new career best in assists (43) & points (57) and was +19.

After somewhat of a slow start to the season the Canucks found themselves 13 games over .500 at the 57 game mark only to stumble winning only 9 of the team's final 25 games. We were destroyed by Anaheim all season losing all four games by a combined score of 17-7. Nice to be back in the playoffs after 3 seasons out I believe, too bad it's not going to be a long stay this time.

  4. You're still holding on to 8th, I only gained 1 point on you this sim. The gap's only down to 1 in total, but you hold the tiebreak (wins). Far from over I think.

after a quick glance at our remaining schedules I'd say you're in a better position that as well as I've won something like 4 out of my last 15, BAD slump at the WRONG time of the season

  5. Morrison 77LE for any playoff run! Well worth a 2nd round pick in any of the next three years if it puts you over the edge (he can play both ends of the ice).

Liles is a solid PP QB, not too old.

Tambellini is a young, cheap, 87SH player who could help your PP if given the chance.

    Y'all know you wanna. ;)

is Blaze your target market for Tambellini?

  6. On demotion waivers. He's almost certainly not going to see any ice time with Petrov knocking on the door, and other deals to be made, so he may help someone else instead... perhaps a bottom dwelling team who is currently playing AHLers in key roles.

Any critique of bottom dwelling teams and their rosters is not acceptable in HWL. ^_^
