I guess it took Mike to trade Turris from Winnipeg for the Coyotes to finally move him. Not surprised it was to Ottawa
-
In a continued effort to reload we add a young albeit not as talented replacement for Vanek as well as 2 future picks. I hope that Turris will step right in and replace everything that Vanek has done similarly to how Trevor Lewis has done replacing Gaborik. While I really liked everything that Vanek brought we thought he would have been too expensive to resign based on where our team is right now. Thanks for the awesome offer Mike (WIN) and best of luck moving forward.
PS: Smolenak can still go for a 2nd round pick in any year.
Cheers!!!

Holy damn, Tyutin helped a ton. 3 points in 3 games and a plus 5.
Then send more to Vancouver then
-
Just got to it, sorry for the delay.
haha, no delay, it was only posted earlier today, I was more concerned with Wednesday if you were busy. Thanks
-
In case Noah (who has let us know his availability is limited) isn't around before the Wednesday sim can someone else review/approve trades?

Vancouver sends:
(D) Fedor Tyutin CON --> 83
to Detroit for:
Erik Karlsson CON --> 87
Detroit 2020 1st round draft pick
I didn't get as much back as I paid to get Tyutin but regardless I'm happy with the return. This move saves me some $$ and should keep me around the same level of competitiveness this season. I have a number of defensive dmen in the system so adding a young, cheap offensive dman is good moving forward.
Thanks again Michael, best of luck the rest of the way.

So since when did Marshawn Lynch turn into C2K? Where did he go for the last what 3 seasons? He looks unstoppable lately, tonight particularly.
-
Congrats, did Dalton take you on?
-
Mission accomplished! I wanted to score more goals and 19 in 3 games is perfect. However ...... giving up 12 (including 8 in one game) needs to be worked on.
8-1 win vs Dallas - John DeGray with 4 points and Ben Maxwell with 3 led the way
8-6 loss vs Winnipeg - pissed away a 4-2 lead. Ben Maxwell with 4 points.
5-3 win vs Anaheim - Alex Frolov notched his 8th career hat trick.

Vancouver confirms.
With the team underachieving in the last couple of seasons (should have been a legit contender the last 2 yrs imo) it was time to move some of my aging talent to restock for seasons ahead while still hopefully remaining competitive.
I`m not sure what to make of Lewis, hopefully I can figure him out and he can become the player he was supposed to be based on his draft position. Harrington adds to my pool of #4 - 6 Dmen and I'll try to get something out of the 2nd but based on the last couple of seasons prospect pool I'll be lucky to get an NHL'er out of a late 2nd.
Losing Gaborik was tough as he's always been very solid and consistent while I've had him, gladly I've got Vanek to move into his spot on the 1st line and others to move up the depth chart.
Thanks Michael, it's always a pleasure dealing with you.

Yes I have spoke to him recently and he's "considering" a return to HWL.
-
It was both actually and the injury happened last sim so he had time to prepare for it.
It's up to goaler but I think it's perfectly fair, he didn't have his team set up at all for injury troubles.
Surprised?
-
No rivalry here. I sign my players by a deadline, I don't go over the salary cap and I DO NOT ever trade Calvin Johnson for two mid range players.
revvvrob and I are rival in everything we compete against eachother in. THAT'S a rivalry, and a fun one at that.

2-1-1 sim for Vancouver. Almost whined when I noticed my lines not changed, then of course I find a draft waiting to be sent in my gmail account. #stunned
-
Haven't opened the sim but I'm guessing there was an injury along the way...or someone got fastsigned to the AHL team. Considering the violation was only officially posted 2 hours before the sim, I'm not sure it's 'fair' to assess a second penalty hours later...even though I've been on him for weeks to make one simple move to get under.
and I'm the bad guy?
-
I'm not saying that I'm going to reject either trade, I just wanted the discussion to exist on trade values. I think it's something that should be considered, especially as the overall depth of quality of our drafts decline.

I'm going with the NHL pre-season rule of a minimum of 8 regular roster players. 20 kids out there getting clobbered isn't doing any of them any good.

+1
What she said.

Looks like I got Benoit Allaire @ $2M per season, therefore I'll bow out of this lottery. Cheers!
