  1. Go Habs Go.  Keep GOING.  KEEP WINNING.

Word is Niemi is in goal tonight given his record vs the Oilers and Price's atrocious Edmonton record as mentioned on Off the Cuff just now it might be a good idea.  But what do I know?

Yes keep winning, of course BUT, even if we get a flat tire shortly there is a silver lining.  I base this solely on what my expectations were without Weber helping the power play and helping on the back end.  If we go 6-10-0 or 7-9-0 - 16 games from now to December 15th (when Weber is slated to return) we will be 500 on December 15th.  That's a 375 record from now until then.  So even a pathetic record until then will give us what I wanted at the start of the season.  AND, I'm sure we can do way better than that.  Still, .375 until Weber returns is all we need to do.  I think it's safe to say we weathered that storm.  Please understand, I base these low hopes as reflected only on my expectations at the beginning of the season.

Don't get me wrong, go 1.000 of COURSE

  2.  Hey all.  I haven't been here in a while but I'm getting tired of HF and this community is smaller and far more reasonable and polite so expect to hear from me far more from now on.

On another note, I just completed a new Habs tribute video.  I would have placed this in a multimedia thread but I couldn't find one.

Video Description: Part One is a introduction to some sad dark days with the ending of the 2017 season at the hands of the Rangers. I could have utilized footage from 2018 but it seemed more fitting to recall a playoff exit and not random games from last season.

Part Two is the Habs coming back to life and the restoration of hope. It underscores only the new players coming in this season.

Part Three is random goals and footage featuring some of the current players.

Part Four is team business, the team goofing around and media events prepping for the future with behind the scenes from the home opener.

Part Five is a tip of the hat to the storied franchise of 24 championships and legends. There was going to be a part 5 with this years lineup with the Montreal Public Address Announcer introducing the players but the introductions were inaudible. I tried and tried and surrendered. Due to time constraints and lack of footage and condensing material, not all players &/or moments are recognized so please keep the criticisms low. If your favourite player is not featured - TOO BAD! This took me days to produce and there's always some rotten person criticizing minute details even when the production of a whole is awesome. Well, I think it is even if I am blowing my own horn.

  3. Curse the networks.  I live in a university dive so the building has no TV/Cable facilities (no wiring) and it's a fortune for the companies to install all the wiring innards.  I wish I could find a stream to watch the UFA frenzy.  And it's not worthwhile to throw money at Bell for access because I will fail to watch over 95% of what I pay for. The world is changing TSN.  People are cutting the cable but what do I expect.  I worked for those jerks.  All they care about is money.

Any who, the TSN radio networks are all airing the World Cup except for http://www.iheartradio.ca/tsn/tsn-vancouver-1040?autoplay=1.1748196 Vancouver if anyone needs at least audio access.

Is Tavares going to ruin UFA day?  Apparently all teams or most are in a holding pattern waiting for the JT hammer to fall.  Sigh

NHL.com will have rounds 2-7. They are just notoriously bad at promoting it, and even making it easy to find.

Thanks Trizzak.  I already had it bookmarked but due to "you never know if it will work" and having to wait until 11ET just to find out it's a failed NHL stream (not allowed in Canada) but you just confirmed for me it'll work.

Cheers!  Christmas NHL style part deux.  And, are we going to now get the trades?  Or do we have to wait 8 days for Christmas part trois?

  5. Not at all shocked. I wouldn't be surprised if Andrighetto, Carr & Thomas were rolling their eyes listening to Semin quietly complain when there were no cameras or coaches around. I suspect his grace period was cut short with his complaining.

Oh well, what is it now - a 950 K cap hit when all is said and done? No biggie.

And finally, no doubt some posters in here are going to see my post and react with, "AC, where have you been, we thought a UFO got you?" :tumbleweed: = me

Funny thing is my profile probably needs changing. it's been so long that my favorite Habs are probably retired by now, or have moved on. ;)

  6. Prust - shoulder - DTD - possible for Saturday.

Diaz - concussion - "good chance" Diaz will play Saturday per Brian Wilde & La Presse.

Armstrong - knee - IR - back on the ice Apr. 18, will play this weekend

The Canadian, who will complete a sequence of five games in eight nights, could accommodate fresh forces, Raphael Diaz and Colby Armstrong.

Already, coach Michel Therrien confirmed back in training Brandon Prust. The winger was left out twice this week to spare his sore left shoulder.

The defender Diaz, who suffered a concussion on Feb. 25, could return to action after an absence of 26 games.

The attacker Armstrong himself, who injured his leg on April 1, almost back to the game Thursday. He missed nine games.
