  1. I personally like Cherry as someone you 'love to hate', haha his comments get me fired up. He has his male crushes on certain players and it doesn't bother me. His support of the troops is refreshing in these days where everyone has to be careful about every little comment.

As to the worst commentators ever, Cole isn't even close...ever listen to the Sportsnet Ottawa saps? I swear they all think Komi like punched their babies or something for all their negatives against him.

About the game, my bias is gonna show, but damn didn't the Higgins/Ryder/Kost line fly out there? Ryder was looking like his old self.

  2. Two years ago I went south to Cuba for the first week of the playoffs, and the Habs won both games, the night I came home...was the night Koivu got eye attacked by that SOB Williamson...so I'll be south again this year for the first week.

If we win the first two games, then a freak injury happens, everyone can blame me -_-.

  3. I really like players who haven't had it easy to get to the league, like Ryder, he's paid his dues in the ECHL, AHL, and had 3 good seasons. This one seems to have gotten away from him a bit, but I think he's performing well with what limited ice time he receives.

Kosto is another favourite of mine, its hard not to chear for the guy.

My all-time favourite Habs is Koivu, he's got guts, heart and its with all the problems in his life, he's amazing he can still compete.

  4. I guess I'm the only one who thinks this is a bad move. SO many people willing to dump shit on Huet it makes me sick. The losses by Huet during this bad stretch just happened to run in stride with the hammer being out of the lineup, hmm wonder how that works.

Truth is, he didn't look good on Sunday, I think too many are blinded by visions of Roy in their eyes.

  5. I'm disappointed Ryder still isn't back in the lineup, I'm bias, I'm a fan of the long road it took him to get to the dance.

I noticed the last time Ryder played and a linemate (think it was Higgins) was roughed up Ryder rushed in first to his defense. I thought to myself, ok he isn't scoring as much, but the coaches have to respect this. Yet, next game he was benched and remains that way. I guess it's just sad to think he may never play for the CH again and his last memory of being a Habs would be so negative.

  6. Haha...ok I should have linked the article from the front page. (Titled: Habs Face Fuming Capitals)

The caps are apparently pissed that the habs tried to embarrass them by scoring that 4th goal late in the 3rd period, and then after that still going strong til time ran down.

It was just some random thoughts that bugged me about athletes today and their claiming no respect when the other team plays hard from start to finish.

Haha...it's a slow day at work, needed to pass time, so I thought I'd rant.

  7. The habs didn't play back, using only their defensive players in the last 3 minutes of the game again the caps on tuesday. I for one, am impressed by this.

The caps bemoan about lack of respect shown their way. They are professionals, this isn't PeeWee, everyone play nice hockey. Same can be said about all sports, its a job, you're paid a ton of cash (league min is way more than what doctors, fire fighters, nurses, policeman man), suck it up and not let it happen.

If any respect was not shown it was by the caps and not playing to the very end.

  8. From my view of Ryder, is when he gets the puck he's always in a bad position. I'm not an hockey analyst so I cannot say if thats because his positioning or others.

When he's on the power play he seems to take the spot Kovy would do, but thats not his strength. His puck handling while not terrible, isn't Koveyesque either. My post is bias because I like the guy, I have a lot of respect for someone beating the odds and working his way up the NHL from the depths of the ECHL.

The problem is (in my mind), is that when he does get a chance, and shoots it gets blocked by the defencemans legs, he needs to move to the slot more and let Koivu/Higgins set him up, as that is their game not his.

Someone mentioned Koivus tape to tape passes all the time? I disagree, this year the whole line hasn't been clicking. We're in 4th place why the need to trade someone who has proved the last two years they were 30 goal scorer.

  9. You're dead wrong, as many people have said, the defenceman moved over to cover Plek, so if Kovy tried to drop pass to him, he would have had his pass intercepted, instead Kovy made a slick move to the open net. If Plek had moved to the left to create a 2 on 1 type situation instead of behind Kovy, I bet he would have had a hat trick right now. Although I don't think he cares, the win means more than stats to most of these players.
