I am ashamed of the effort this teamed showed tonight.
-
This team is race horses why arent they trading chances.
-
This team pisses me off so much. I see the hawks forechecking and i cringe because they will get the puck...
Hard to shit on a 2nd year defenseman having to play top pair minutes. Of course he is in on a lot of goals against, he is out there most of the game. Imagine Emelin, Diaz, or Weber playing those minutes against the other team's top lines.
It's hard agreed, but it doesnt even matter if the forwards cant even score more than one goal.

felt like trolling so here goes:
Jacques Martin used to be a good coach...then he took an arrow in the knee
Haha Skyrim has officially conquered Habsworld
-
The question is...if Cammy is to be moved, what kind of return can be expected of him?
-
The question is...if Campoli struggles in one game will be thrown under the bus like the young D have been or will he get the vet treatment haha.

Emelin is not a typical prospect, he's 25, he's player a lot of hockey. What he needs in my mind is not coaching as much as it is playing minutes, which he was getting and flourishing. This is another case of JM tinkering when it wasn't needed. Why rush Campoli back to the lineup? Does he bring anything to the table? I can't see him being needed at all.
You asked why must be rush prospects, Emelin is the opposite of being rushed, he's been held back.
Emelins switch to his wrong side is another example of JM tinkering with what doesn't need to be tinkered with.

I am not a high level hockey player so I do not know the difficulty of switching sides as a D-man, but if it's as difficult as you say then why did JM switch Emelin to his off-side, Emelin of very little NHL experience. Like someone said earlier it's almost setting him up to fail. All I know is Emelin is what the habs have been missing, I was tired of the habs being a very soft team to play against, at least with PK and Emelin it makes other teams accountable.
-
Emelin was causing teams to have pause entering the habs zone, they were looking with their heads on a swivel when him or Pk were on the ice and I liked that, I liked what he brought.I'm sure Gorges could swap sides til Emelin gets adjusted.
-
The habs are hovering at .500 with one of the worst PP in the league, do you notice when the habs lose it's by 1 goal, can you imagine if all those close goal games were supplimented by I don't know a PP goal here or there? The habs are riding a fine line between success and failure and this year it has been the PP which has them tilted towards failure.
-
To me here is a short breakdown.
1) A Panic move to help a struggling coach and struggling PP
2) A move for a player who has shown nothing for a year playing on 4 teams
3) A move that can cost us with the expriing contracts of Emelin, Eller, Price, Subban, Gorges, Kostitsyn, Moen, Gill, etc....
But......
This is a gamble. kaberle was only a year and a half ago a great point producing player. If he can regain his form then this CAN be a steal.
I said it above but I guess you didn't see it, he had 47 pts last year and +4, how is that not showing anything? On the habs he'd be what top 4 on the team in scoring..his numbers seem similar to . . . . WIZ except cheaper than what Wiz was signed for.
-
Seriusly though. Kaberle has been a bust for a year and a half. Why would a 4th team in under a year translate to success all of a sudden?
Kaberle had 47 pts last year and +4, how is that a bust? I guess we have different versions of what a bust is. I am open to change, lets see what he brings. As has been said in other threads...if not Kaberle, who? Markov seems to be hinted at gone til after all-star break, the habs need something.
-
Haha oh noes the sky is falling the sky is falling. I think as habs fans it's easier to be negitive about change and then can be happily surprised than try to be positive for once. The biggest issue with this team is not giving up goals it's scoring on the PP, Kaberle is a PP guy...so PG has addressed this need.
Forget the money. Fans seem to think just BECAUSE we have money available the habs will get the best player, thats not the truth. How many times have the habs offered comparable or more money for a player and for them to turn the habs down? Part of this is due to us as fans and how we flip out and react so negitively to any kind of move.

Steal of a deal?
Spacek 12 games, 3 assists and a+3
Kaberle 29 games, 9 assist and a -12
So if Spacek played the same amount he would basically have 8 points and a +8 and makes $500k less per season with an expiring contract.......different definitions of a steal me thinks.
Only way this works is if Kaberle can regain his Toronto playing days where he was feeding McCabe and/or Phaneuf
I dunno this seems off. Are you saying that a trade of Moen for E.Stall would not be a steal? Moen has a better +/- and more goals this year.
-
I am going to reserve judgment til I see him play. Many players have been written off as toast only to get a new life with a new team, some even close to the vest in regards to the habs (Riberio, Beauchiman, Grabsac, etc).
So if this gets the PP going I am happy.
-
We're not allowed to blame Martin for anything here.
-
It will pass by tomorrow but i hate this team right now.
-
I should be happy but this is still not been a good game.
-
The habs are now the worst team.
-
If they are going to play this bad trade the vets let eller dd leblanc play big minutes.
-
The habs use to have a forecheck...
-
Cammy is turning into Kovy v2.0
-
What I really liked last night was the forecheck and the fact we ACTUALLY have one. We were disrupting the sharks break outs and that puts less stress on our d-men.

I like AKs hits...he can devastate opposing players, especially when he gets angry. My opinion has changed of AK, I realize how talented and physical he can be...compared to Cammy haha.

Cammy has to take the stick out of his butt over whatever is bothering him. He is paid to score, he is not, in my eyes he's as overpaid as Gomez. This probably sounds like hyperbole but it's true. We talk and talk about the young players and their mistakes, the vets have to stand up and earn their money. I know it's not my money paying these players, but in a cap system, it is alright to bring up salary as it takes X% of available resources.
