  1. Depends on the game. They both give their all about ten times a year. Odds are, they never hit the same night twice, but boy oh boy. Imagine that game? Two of the most talented players on the planet trying? We'd have a good team!!!

Yeah like when malakhov was playing at his best he was gold!!

but what a lazy ass though.

  2. First of all, Burkie! SUPERSTAR, that is why I LOVE that guy! Man, he even makes the Leafs palatable! Secondly? All the better for the acquiring team - Heater just made himself ten times tougher to trade because the offers are all going to be lowball. Ottawa is screwed, but the winning team gets a potential 50-goal guy for beans. As much as he's a whiner about this trade business, will we really complain if we get him for Kostitsyn Junior and a 5th round pick?

I know it doesn't work like this but if I was murray I'd tell Heatley to F-off and show up at training camp and if he didn't i'd suspend him until he waiver his NMC( which I still dont undertsand why he dind't) and get the best possible offer for him.

I just dont respect that kind of guy.

  3. From Brian Burke

"When you have players come ask you for a trade, I tell the players 'don't finish that sentence,' because once you ask, I'm going to move you," Burke stated. "If a player wants out, you're darn right I'm going to move you. I'm not kissing anyone's ass to play in my town, so to hell with you, don't finish the sentence. My second rule is if I hear about this, you're not going anywhere."

I dont usually agree with birke's ways but he's on the money with that one!!

I dont think heatley has the kinda caracter team canada needs at the olympics.

  4. Then Gainey will give him one year and let him earn that raise.

Or sign him to an in-between deal for 4ish years, and we end up with a consistent 30-30 guy on our team for a reasonable price, like what Andrei K should be right now.

and as per team policy, Gainwy wont deal with Higgins before the end of next season, that will rub higgs the wrong way and he will fetch his much deserved raise elswhere...and we'll be left with nothing because Gainey doesnt like to trade his pending UFAs...he likes to lose them for nothing.

  5. Higgins will be back, and I don't see how he'd get that big of a raise after a poor season.

Komi's gone, hopefully out west where he can't get pounded by Lucic as often.

he's bound to become UFA after next season.

if gainey wants only to signhim to a one year deal there wont be much of a raise.

if Gainey wants him long term ( ie 5-6 years) Higgins might say no, I'm going UFA and make more money. So gainey would have to give more he's worth just to keep him longer.

  6. I'd be astonished if Higgins leaves, unless we trade him.

The 'heart' and 'skill' of this team leave a lot to be desired.

Absolutely we should keep Tanguay. Komisarek might be Martin's kind of player, maybe we'll try to sign him after all? Can't see him with us though.

Komi's ang Higgins' agent is a shark and will try to get his clients as much money as possible.

higgins is on the verge of UFA situation so Gainey will have to overpay in order to keep him long term.

I would love for Komisarek to stay but not at the money he's looking for.

  7. Is Scott Boras representing any of them?

"Sure the World Series champions are important, but how about Alex Rodriguez's new contract? eh? ehhh?"

in the MLB it's actually a rule not outshine the world series final with a major news while in the NHL it's meerly a wish.

  8. Not to take anything away from Pittsburgh they deserve it

But man, you can tell the Wings looked tired (plus, Datsyuk missed 4 games)

Pens swept Carolina, so they had plenty of time to rest;plus, they are younger than the Wings, which helps with recovery. Red Wings won the West Finals in 6 games, and #$%^&$#@ Gary Bettman scheduled games 1 and 2 to be played on consecutive nights, because of ######ing NBC.

Just pointing out facts, but again, congrats to Pittsburgh, well deserved

And also, I'm happy for Guerin; great great pro, played with shitty NY Islanders for a few seasons before the trade, never complained. :hockey:

if it wasn't for injuries to opponents we wouldn't have a 24th stanley cup !!

besides, if you break down every final series i'm sure you'd find an advantage somehow to the winner wether it'd be a weaaker opponent or a missing key player.
