  1. Very bad game...

These are the games the habs have to be winning, especially with the killer schedule they have coming up..

I think it's time to pull the trigger on Ryan Smyth, to help the team secure that playoff berth..

Even with a 10 point lead on the 9th place team, the tough schedule is gonna give the habs trouble holding on.

    :ghg:

  2. Edmonton always seems to give up more then what they get in return.

So why wouldn't they be satisfied with a couple prospects?

i think they'd take, Hossa, maybe Beauchemin and a draft pick.

Habs have a lot of players in Hamilton that they could use to get Smyth.

Toronto in the first round, i dont want to see. they would be hardest to beat then. ottawa have bad goaltending but still are the scariest to me and TB would be similar to carolina in 2002.

    My thoughts exactly!.

The goalie situation in Philly could be the difference in a first round match up with those guys. If both our scoring lines could get going i think a first round upset over the Flyers is a big possibilty.

If Gainey could somehow Pick up a good left winger for the top line and a good right winger for the second line, the chances of a deep playoff run would be much better.

Modin from Tampa was a rumour i heard a couple weeks ago, he'd be a good fit on the top line. Not a whole lot better then Bulis but im sure with his shot and size he'd produce a lot more, especially on a line with Koivu.

Jeff O'neill would be the perfect linemate for Ribs. A line consisting of Zednik-Ribeiro-O'neill, would be a scoring threat every time they're on the ice.

    Modin-Koivu-Ryder

    Zednik-Ribeiro-O'neill

    Bulis-Juneau-Ward

    Langdon-Begin-Dackell

The team would have two good scoring line, Juneau's Checking line and Begin's energy line. I think this team could create some big upsets in the Playoffs.

Trade Bait: Hossa, Perreault, Kilger, Sundstrom, some of the other prospects, and draft picks.

  4. The Playoffs should be a given right now.

If the habs come out flat and miss the playoffs to a team like the Sabres or the Rangers, everyone should be ashamed.

    Possible fisrt round opponents.

    Philly

    Leafs

    Sens

    Lightning

For some reason, i'd rather face the Flyers in the first round. With the way the habs have played against them in the last two meetings, I think they can be beaten.

A habs VS Leafs matchup would be an all out War, but would be too nerve wrecking for me right away, i'd rather face em in the second or third round if the habs were lucky enough to get that far!

  5. I agree with Forsberg in the top 25, I would even say top 15!..

I also agree with Forsberg being a more complete player then Mario, but has nowhere near the offensive capabilities of the Magnificent one!.

As for Fedorov, thats a whole different story...

I think he's a great player, and i would love for him to be on the Habs, but when you talk about the greatest of all time, i cant imagine Fedorov's name being mentioned.

  6. Very good article!!

I think this is where the Coaching staff and GM has to step in and get the team to bond. Things aren't gonna work out if the guys stay in these little "cliques", it's like having to teams on the ice competing to see who gets the most points, ice time, and who can be the best leaders. IMO this is sick, the fans and players should all realize that they are apart of the same team.

    :ghg:

  7. I think this would be cool too! The Ryder line!

I also think Daniel is gonna be the better player someday because Daniel has the speed, something that almost caused Michael to be overlooked altogether..

As for Ch-nl's comment, I dont understand..

Ps: Hopefully a big win tonight over the Pens!!!!

  8. Daniel Ryder: #23 Peterborough Petes

    "B I O

    Position: C

    Shoots: R

    Height: 5'11'

    Weight: 185 lbs.

    DOB: January 12, 1987

    Hometown: Bona Vista, NFLD

    N O T E S

Although not eligible until the 2005 NHL draft, Daniel is already impressing scouts with his ability to score as well as his playmaking skills. Daniel's brother Michael is also enjoying a fine rookie season with the Montreal Canadiens."

Playing as an underager in the league, he's currently 3rd in rookie scoring. Pretty good size as well for a 16 year old, and unlike his brother the Kid has some great wheels. Maybe in 2005 the Habs will take the chance on another Ryder.

  9. It's way to hard to say who was the best ever, simply because they were all playing in different eras.

But i would say Lemieux as well, because i think he could have scored at will in any of those eras, because he had the size and if wanted to he could handle himself.

Gretzky i think was lucky that he got a chance to play in the offensive era because he'd be pummled in today's game and probably the same when Rocket played.

Because of the Instigator rule the Coach wouldn't allow a guy like Semenko to go out and Protect his star because it would be hurting the team.

There's no doubt that Forsberg is the best now, but not the best ever.

    :ghg:

  10. Why are there talks of getting a d-man when what the team really needs is more offense and size, all in the one player if possible!..

A big top line left winger is whats needed, then we can move Bulis back to the second line and have two real good scoring lines.

Is there any possibilities of the habs getting a guy to fill that role by the trade deaddline?

Too bad Hossa couldn't smarten up and all of a sudden start playing like his bro!

    :ghg:

  11. i think Komi was doing just fine in the lineup.

If Markov was playing the way he did last season there'd be no question, but right now i'd rather for Komisarek to be getting the ice time.

I think Sundin would've had a lot tougher time coming from behind the net to set up the third goal if it was Komis stick that was crushing into his back!

    :ghg:

  12. What made the loss even 10 times worse was that the habs fans were constantly being drowned out by "Go Leafs Go"....

And in the dying minutes the "na na na" Chant kicked in!

It sounded really bad..and it made me sick.

Why the hell cant wehave a year where we dominate almost all the games against the leafs, the way they seem to dominate us.

Anyway i hope this is not one of the teams famous slumps that seperate the Habs from the top of the pack in the East.

    :ghg:

  13. They should put Messier, Roberts and Primeau on the one line and watch them get embarrased... Our own line of Sundstrom, Juneau, and Dackell/Ward could have been put there instead of those guys.

I didn't think Ribs really deserved a spot on the team, but after seeing some of the guys that are there, Ribeiro should be the team Captain (i'll bet The geezer Messier will captain the team).

Anyway, hopefully Souray blows a 110mph slapper through the net in Hardest shot comp.

    :ghg:

  14. Way to go Habs, its about time they beat the Flyers.

Just 6 points out of first in the East! Amazing.

The only thing bad about the win was that everyone on head of them won as well..

Ryder another great game, he always breaks out after Christmas and seems like he's gonna do the same this year. As for the All Star if he can keep putting up big numbers he may be the only rookie playing in the big game. If not he wont be taking part in the all star weekend at all, because he's not in his rookie contract he cant play in the young star game.....What a stupid rule, a rookies a rookie.

    :ghg:

  15. I also agree and Disagree.

The habs SHOULD have won the Philly, the Leaf, the florida and the Capital game, or at least got a point.

But (as puck and Quebecois were saying) if your not playing good enough to close out a game you dont deserve to win.

There were a couple of little individual mistakes that caused those outcomes, and lately they have been goin our way. So at least the boy have learned from their mistakes.

PS: The habs are Smokin'!!!
