I heard of a rumour with T-Bay...
Involving Perreault and Fredrik Modin..
i dont know if theres any truth to it or not.
:ghg:
-
my lineup would be:
Bulis-Plekanec-Ryder
Zednik-Ribs-Dagenais
Sund-Juneau-Dacks
Langdon-Perreault-Ward
Plekanec is up so they might as well give him a good chance to see what he can do.
he'll be useless as a 4th liner.

Dont call the Ghostbusters.
Call the Ghosts themsleves, the ones from the Montreal Forum!!!!.
Make every opponent frightened to death when they come to montreal again, instead of saying, easy 2 points tonight.
:ghg:

Toronto ALWAYS get the breaks.
Especially when it comes to stupid penalties.

Great game!.
Sheldon Souray is a beast on the point, the guy can do it all!! Let's hope he gets a chance to play in the All-Star game because he's surely earned it.
I would like nothing more then a huge win over those f*cking Leafs Saturday night. Hopefully Souray and the boys can pull it off!

I dont have a clue where Poulin went after he left Montreal. Probably to Europe somewhere.
Displaying Audette is certainly not gonna help the team get rid of him, he's constantly making mistakes and has no passion to play the game at all. Didplaying Audette is only making the chances at getting rid of him slimmer and slimmer. Buy him out and get it over with, it would be the best investment Gainey can possibly do at the moment and probably the only way to get rid of the bum!!
Dagenais had another great game on the 2nd line and is making a strong case to stick with the team and with that line.
:ghg:
-
If Ryder can stick with Koivu on the top line, I think he'll win it. If not he'll probably finish 4th or 5th in voting.
If that happens, i'll Raycroft
Runners up, Pitkanen a close second and Stall a distant 3rd!

I agree, Lemieux is done!
And every team has to have three players under the age of 23?? (i think its 23)
1.)Bertuzzi-Thornton-Iginla (lots of goals, lots of hits, lot's of energy)
2.)Kariya-Sakic-Heatley (Speed and a lot of offense would come from this line)
3.)Smyth-Yzerman-Shanahan (a ton of determination, and a line capable of shutting down the best players in the World, while adding some offense)
4.)Nash-Lecavalier-Murray (another good scoring line)
Wild card players to fill the other forward positions could be Gagne, Tanguay, Madden, Spezza, Lindros, Nolan.........the list goes on. Canada could have two gold medal contenders.
1.)Pronger-Blake (Best pairing i can think of)
2.)Jovanonski-Niedermayer ( Soild defensively and Offensively)
3.)Redden-Foote ( In your face hockey from Foote along with all around play from Redden
Again a number of guys could be on the team as 7th dman, but i'd take Boumeester to round out the 3 under 23 year olds. Souray, Morris, Brewer, other possibilities.
Goalies:
1.)Brodeur (Best in the World)
2.)Theodore (Best after Brodeur)
3.)Luongo (Maybe equal to Theo)
Other possibilities are Fleury, Belfour, Turco.......
IMO with this team, no one in the World would touch them.

He was a great player in 98.
As for now, id say the monirs is the best place for him!
:ghg:

Stay retired Dougie!!
You gave us habs fans a great year in your first with the team, but i think that last playoff run was then end of your legacy.:ghg:
-
Koivu is a spark for the team and things are going well now so i dont think a major trade needs to happen at the moment, especially not this one.
One or two players are not gonna make the habs a cup contender so i'd rather keep most of the guys that are with the team now, focus on dumping Audette, perreault, Sundstrom, Kilger, and Juneau, and when the CBA is settled next season make some moves to improve the team then.
:ghg:
-
I think 95% of the habs fans would rather see Dagenais over Audette. Audette is just a plain ol bum, i cant stand the guy, he does absolutely nothing for the team.
i'd rather see Jim Campbell or Patrick Poulin back in a habs uni over Audette.
:ghg:
-
Welcome fellow Newfoundlander!!
I'm also a huge habs fan, and a huge leaf hater!! haha
Hopefully Langdon and Ryder can bring the Cup here to good ol Newfie...
:ghg:
-
Habs better keep their heads up if the Tootoo train is playing.
Preds are playing well, but nothing the habs shouldnt be able to handle!
Hopefully we can go 2 games above 500!

I like these lines:
Bulis-Koivu-Ryder
Zednik-Ribeiro-Dagenais
Sundstrom-Begin-Dackell
Langdon-Perreault-Kilger
When those lines were together things seemed to be going very well. i think Begin is our best center to play on the checking line because of his never give up attitude, his speed and his feisteness. Juneau helps kill a few penalties but thats it, i think he's one of the worst players on the team right now.
But with players returning from injuries im guessong some moves will be made again.
Dagenais will problt end up in the minors to make room for ward.
Kilger and Langdon will be in and out of the lineup all the time.
And anyone who has a bad game will likely be benched the next just like before when there were too forwards.
The reason the habs had been playing so well IMO was that there were 4 consistent lines (pretty much) every game and they found chemistry, when the line Juggling starts again the losses will come again.
My top two lines would be:
Bulis-Koivu-Ryder
Zednik-Ribeiro-Perreault/Ward
and keep them together
:ghg:
-
Tucker doesnt add much size.
We'd be giving up a bigger player in kilger, although Tucker plays a much more physical game then kilger.
:ghg:
-
I agrree Begin was a good fit to the Checking line.
I'd much rather see him on the ice as our Checking forwards then Juneau, it's time for Joe to call it off.
He's just being a waste of money and taking ice from our other players.
Zednik-Koivu-Ryder
Perreault-Ribeiro-Ward
Bulis-Begin-Dackell
Langdon-Kilger-Sundstrom/Audette
These would be my lines when everyones healthy.
hopefully Gainey can get rid of juneau and Audette, even if its just for another effective role player like Begin.

When i heard Ribs wasnt playing, i said to myself, Julien is just looking for a ticket out of town making stupid move after stupid move.
But if the whole long shift story is true, I congratulate Julien for making the move! If Ribs wont lesson then he sits. Good for the coach to let the team know whos boss.
Lets just hope it doesnt affect Ribeiros play.
And how about that top line!!!! They're looking good!
Ryder 3 points back of king for the Rookie lead, maybe a Calder winner for the habs??? haha ( long season yet though)
:ghg:

I highly agree that Hainsey should be on the team and be given a big role. He definitely has the talent to be in the top 6 on the habs blueline, and be on at least the 2nd pp unit.
I also hated seeing Komi down in the minors, he too big, strong and (what we need) Skilled to be in the minors.
Get rid of either Quintal or Rivet and Keep Bouillon around as the 7th.
Markov-Breezer
Souray-Komi
Hainsey-Quintal/Rivet
pp:
Markov-Souray
Hainsey-Breezer
pk:
Souray-Komi (I wouldnt wanna stand in front of theo with these to guys there)
-
It's about time that Komi has been brought up. Hopefully this time he'll be the punisher we all thought he was gonna be when the team drafted him!.
I'm looking for big Komi hit Tuesday night on Cooke.
Also if those punks start crashing the net again Komi well pick up for Theo unlike the rest of the guys.
BUT maybe he was brought up to sit in the press box just to ruin his confidence a bit more, it wouldnt suprise me seeing it is Montreal!.
As for Dagenais, if he plays i hope he doesnt look like a complete fool as he did in the preseason.
Poor Hainsey sent down again, Both Hainsey and Komi should be playing full time. Get rid of Rivet or Q and keep Bouillon in the press box.
:ghg:

It was Ohlund!
This game could have been won by the habs easily.
Damn penalties, and Damn Audette for starting it all.
I'm also getting sick of Rivet's play so far this season, he's making to many mistakes and he's too slow to catch anyone and ends taking hooking and tripping penalties because of it. He has to smarten up or Gainey will have to get rid of him.
:ghg:
-
I always knew Ryder on the top line with Koivu and Zed would be a good move, its about time it happened.
It finally looked like we had a #1line, hopefully they can now keep up the good play.
As for the rest of the game, if not for penalties the habs would have come away with the win no trouble.
Now hopefully the lines stay together for longer then a game.
:ghg:
-
The best help that Gainey can get for Julien, is to get rid of him.
i agree Julien is becoming another Therrien and thats the last thing we need to see.
i dont hate the guy and you cant expect much when he doesnt have the talent to work with and the little talent he has are not performing, but lately he;s just becoming plain stupid.
Juneau on the top line is the worst thing i've heard of in a long time.
Anyway, i hope im wrong!
:ghg:
-
Habs77 I congratulate you for sticking up for our wonderful coach, I was so stupid to question his intelligence!!
But now after his latest line juggling im convinced we have one of the best coaches in the league!
I can smell the Stanley cup heading for Montreal right now all thanks to Julien promoting the offensively blessed Joe Juneau to the top line!!
I'll even predict a hat trick for the him tonight and three assists on Zednik goals to go along with it!!!
hahahahahahaha!!! what a joke!!
if that line works tonight, i'll be shocked!
another :-^ for Claude!

NHL 2night...Souray should be East starter
in Habs & Hockey Talk
Posted
The habs should have at least 2 players playing in the big game.. IMO Theo and Souray will definitely be there.
Also Koivu has a good chance, he has elevated his game big time lately and is playing some real good hockey. If he can keep it up i think he;ll be there as well.
Also Ryder and Komi will probably be playing in the youngstars game so that makes 5 habs involved in the All Star weekend.
Anyone think Souray can win the hardest shot? He'll definitely be a shooter.....I'd say he can top 100mph!!
:ghg:
