  1. Theo brought a lot of good things to the Montreal club. I'm glad to hear he is recovering, and I wish him the very best, and congratulations on his new daughter!

    Thank-you Lazy.....ah .....whoops....um I mean thanks if I wasn't um.....anyways ya Huet rules right! um aa I feel like such a HEEL, but it's getting better........dope......see-ya!!!!

  2. As a coach you'd look at this game and note a couple of things.....

A/ your team seems to play down to the level of the lower teams - this was sloppy hockey that wasn't at all present in the two games against the Leafs = while you gladly take the two points and get out of town as fast as you can there is possibly some reason for concern with that tendency?

B/ two extremely intense and emotionally draining games that were a must win against an arch rival who seems to rise above their actual talent level time and again against you (this was true even in the late 70's when the Habs were so dominant.) = that definitely affected what they had in the tank for this game.

C/ what seems to go right for Huet is not working for Aebischer - while he has been weak on occasion he also has caught some bad breaks at times that may result from a lack of cohesion with the defense. After all the Avs style is quite different from the Habs and it takes time to adapt to it. Whether he does adapt or not is still up for debate? = with so much on the line now he should only play once your playoff fate has been decided or an blowout/injury otherwise forces your hand.

With Huet playing the way he is, of the three points the first point would worry me more as that is where the vital playoff position points can be so easily squandered, and have been.

    O.K?

  3. That's the thing too, how much is he going to ask for next season? His contract his up, and if his agent bases his evaluation on Dandeneault's contract, who isn't any better really, that means Bouillon might be asking for 1.5+ a year. At that price, he'd be far from a bargain.

Well, I guess Gainey will have to cross that bridge when he gets to it.....Honestly, do you think Gainey is thinking about that right now.

Would you pay 1.5 million for this?

  4. I miss those crunching hits in our end. I don't know what you haters are talking about. I see more opponents feet in the air and faces crushed against the glass from the Cube then I do from Komi.

The Cube plays bigger then he is, and Komi plays smaller then he is. I'm not picking sides......I just think Montreal needs all the help on D we can get. With the current roster? Ya, I miss him

  5. Saku's number will never be retired...he doesn't deserve it. He's never done anything worth retiring is number. There are plenty of other old Habs who won't be retired that deserve it much more then Koivu.

I think you are wrong. All Koivu needs is to finish his career here. If he wins a cup then it will be for sure. You need to remember the obstacles that Saku has overcome to keep pushing this organization to it's fullest. Not to mention what he has done for the city of Montreal with all his work outside of the Hockey world. I think it would be a shame if in the end he wasn't honored. That's still a long ways away though, a lot can still happen where this wouldn't even be questioned.

  6. I think there are better days ahead for sure.......right now he is so scared to screw up that he's screwing up. Imagine trying to play better then Huet at the moment......this guy is freaked out.

When Huet has a slump, which hopefully won't be any time soon, is when Abby will come in and save us. Untill then he will flop around like a fish.........Abby has proven he can play, he just needs to settle in.

Leave him alone, and just be thankful for HUET right now.........

  7. I wouldn't worry about Aebisher,...after all we have Huet. The team's play thought, specially

in the defensive zone was really sub-stantard, much more so than Aebisher own play was, I thought.

I dont know why it all look somewhat shaky,....and why Gainey brought in so much change in the lines...

Sundstrom was back...Streit had much ice time....Bulis centering the second line.....I am glad for the

points....the only reason why I wont try to understand what could be behing many unorthodox

coaching decisions is those points,......but I would be curious to know how you guys inerpreted those

changes Gainey's brought in tonight's game.

Easy. Fresh legs. Most of the habs were fried after that weekend with the leafs........it paid off.

  8. I think it's a game time decision. Like tonight.....as much as I hate the leafs I was cheering for them, for obvious reasons. I think I will be voting for Atlanta because I want to pass Tampa at this moment. Well as long as we keep winning of course. Now if we lose to the islanders then I will have to cheer for Tampa........

Win Habs Win.....make it easy on us Leaf Jersey burning Freaks!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Lucky win tonight, no thanks to Aebischer. I know not every goal was his fault, but he looked pathetic at times tonight. I'm not sure this team has alot of confidence in him. In 3 games with the Habs he has a 5.00 GAA. This is not good.

You can say all you want that its the sloppy defense infront of him, but thats the exact same defense that plays in front of Huet and he's sporting a 2.21 GAA and 0.928 Save %

I just hope Aebischer has some trade value left in the offseason. Other than saving $3.9 Million this trade isn't looking very good.

I agree completely...I'm still glad we ditched Theo though. I doubt Gainey would have made the trade if he thought we could have gotten a better return. The only taker was obviously ...The Avs....

Saving the 3.9 mil this year is going to make the off-season a lot easier. If Gainey couldn't get rid of Theo in the summer we would have been screwed trying to pick up a good free agent. Now we can breathe. Thank god for Huet. I think Abby is UFA next year.....I'm almost certain the habs will go with Huet and Danis. Which means we get nothing for Theo.......hmmmm .......awell. We're winning and I'm glad he's gone.

Crucial week ahead.....We play teams we know we can beat, while Tampa plays Carolina, Atlanta and Jersey plays Ottawa and Buffalo......

    Stay focused boys ..........!!!!!!!!!

  10. Wow....big win......

Abby? Shaky and soft...........but cheaper then the shaky and soft we used to have.......

It kills me....the rebounds, the shitty positioning.....it's so obvious and bad, especially when you get to watch a guy like Huet who is so controlled and confident. Huet is like a Pillow. Once it hits him nothing comes out.

Huet has proven himself to me....let's go with him right to the cup.....

The PILLOW..........I think I like that.......

Bring on the Islanders for we have THE PILLOW......

On another note......I'm not sure I beleive in what the Pens are building. I don't care how good Crosby becomes. He's just not likable. It's starting to spread through the team. That Armstrong kid is a homo too.

I was watching the Pens broadcast, and they were showing the Pens and Leafs from a few nights ago, Crosby was miked on the bench, telling guys what to do and where they should have been on the last play. If I saw it correctly, they were annoyed and skating away from him. He ######ing really bugs me. LOSER!!!!!!

  11. In today's Journal de Montréal, Muller, who's presently coaching the Golden Seals of Queen's University, admitted that he would be interested in the job and that he actually expects a call from Carbonneau for next year.

They also mention that Carbonneau and him know each other very well.

I would say YES to "Captain Kirk" right away.

That would be cool. I guess.

Quick question? What happens when a number like 11 is retired in honor of Saku.........does a guy like Muller get honored aswell?

  12. I wonder if they will have anything left in the tank to beat the Pens after an emotional series vs. the Leafs, plus it will be their third game in 4 days, or fifth game in 7 days (going back to Monday's game vs. the Caps). It's like they're playing in the Olympics or something :).

This is where guys like Saku, Rivet, Ribs, need to reach deeper into their souls, and show who, and what they are made of..........

    Saku shines tonight........

    4-3 Habs

    Zednick-2 goals

    Ribs

    Saku

  13. Go Habs Go!

We won't need to worry about the goaltending if the team can continue to score goals every night. I dont expect 5-6 every game, but 3-4 should do it if our goalie is playing decent.

I expect Huet will get the start, but Bob has surprised me before :) :hlogo: :hockey: :hlogo:

I agree, Huet should start b/c he has played so well, but if Bob sticks to his word and does the "right thing" abby will get the nod.

    Hopefully he's up to it...........

    GO ABBY GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go SAKU GO!!!!!!
