  1. 35% of people that ACTUALLY replied wanted to trade Theo... id think that right now, if they had interviewed everyone, the % would of been much, MUCH higher... Theo's play is horrible, Markov's return will help, but the 1-2 or even 3-4 bad goals a game theo gives up wont just disappear, something is very wrong... when you cant stop 50% of the shots you face as a goalie, and that said goalie is Theo (former Vezina/Hart winner, used to be the goalie who has faced most shots) it only means one thing, hes asking to be traded..

That or Theo is another Jim "the net detective" Carey (also a former vezina winner with the caps) had one BIG year and has since become one of the biggest busts in NHL history, its sad really, last I heard he was fighting to keep a spot in the minors, and then got badly hurt (think he announced retirement after that) but I think this might be Theos destiny as well, unless he turns his game around... at leat the caps saw this before it happened and traded him to Boston in the trade that brought Oates to Washington, I fear it might be too late for The Butterfly Theo...

    Keep Dreamin

  2. Press conference does indeed mean something.

Gainey has something important to say, it may be a trade, it may be an apology, it may be to tell the fans to quit shitting on Theo.

    Here we go!

I have a crazy feeling Gainey is going to declare Owen Nolan a habs for the rest of the year.........Not sure what to think of that. ....at this point he could only help.

  3. I agree. I don't know why I feel so betrayed.......I'm sure he hurts more then any of us....He was a habs fan too.I'll put my bullshit aside. I take back everything negative I've said about him in the past 2 months. Come on Theo....get it together you overpaid galoot........................just kidding

All the best Theo, we need you at your best.

  4. I blame Bob Gainey. He needs to stand up for Theodore like he did Brisebois. Theodore is struggling right now and doesn't need the added pressure of fans booing him everytime he takes to the ice.

Is that really helping any? Is that going to help him regain his form? No.

I challenge Bob Gainey to stand up and defend Jose Theodore. Show some confidence in a guy who has no confidence in himself right now. Even if he is planning on trading him. Protect your team buddy.

First of all Gainey gave the guy what? only 4.5 million a year for the next 4 years WOW!!!!! That is standing up for a guy and showing confidence in itself.

1.Gainey fired Julien before he said anything about Theo. Even though Julien had given up on him.

TSN article " When he replaced the fired Claude Julien behind the bench two weeks ago, coach and general manager Bob Gainey's first move was to overturn a decision to start backup Cristobal Huet against San Jose and put Theodore in goal."

    Sports net article

And, as it turns out, Claude Julien wasn't the problem. The entire league, including the guy who fired him, knew that. But Bob Gainey pulled the trigger anyway.

    Tsn article-

After being benched in back-to-back games by Julien, Theodore started for the third game in a row and made 27 saves. Theodore's record dropped to 16-12-5.

    gazzette-

He said he was feeling confident after the win in Toronto and Gainey agreed with the goalie's contention that "I made the big stops when we needed them. But we have to win as a team."

    Tsn article .

"I had a feeling about Jose," Gainey said when asked why he put him back in after starting backup Cristobal Huet for two straight. "A couple of weeks ago Jose came in and played real well in back-to-back wins for us. And we got bombed out West in a couple of games and he happened to be in net but it wasn't entirely his fault. But he needed a little time to regroup.

TSN Article ...He was weak on the tying goal as Toronto forced overtime late in the third period, saying later he relaxed because he thought the Leafs had taken a penalty, but Gainey was impressed nonetheless.

TSN article "In Toronto, he gave us the kind of performance we needed," said Gainey. "He made important stops at important times.

and finally "It's not a question of throwing in the towel," said Gainey. "Both he and we need to come up with solutions.

"We have to find something that will bring him closer to the level he has been at before."

Asked if there was a time limit on Theodore's revival, a cautious Gainey only said: "I guess I'd say it's not yet." This after last nights game and a dreadful month and a half.

What more do you want KAOS?

Gainey has all ready done enough and Theo has not responded. Maby Gainey should wear and autographed Jersey with the number 60 on the back. Holding a sign that says THEO RULES..

Is that what protecting your team buddy means? You need to re-think blaming Gainey......boo the hell out Theo because he takes too much of our money considering the performance he gives .......

Plain and simply put.Theo doesn't need to regain his form.....He needs to get his shit together.Period.

  5. I blame Bob Gainey. He needs to stand up for Theodore like he did Brisebois. Theodore is struggling right now and doesn't need the added pressure of fans booing him everytime he takes to the ice.

Is that really helping any? Is that going to help him regain his form? No.

    He has!....................not working!

  6. Yes i saw it, Theo stunk last night no doubt about it, that only put them down 2 with over half the game to play. so instead of getting it back in it. They quit, Carolina dominated the rest of the way. As bad as St Louis is , atleast they play hard through the whole game and atleast try. Bouillon and Dandenault were brutal last night.

The Habs did push ......At least sanford keeps the blues in the game.....Minutes later Theo let in 3 and four that's when the team started to get flat and it was over.........just like the last 10 games he's played.

I get what you are saying..........but in order to have team effort night in and night out....your goalie has to atleast look like he's trying.......

Theo is a burn-out....it's over.......he is so stinking bad that the only way for gainey to evaluate the team he has, honestly.....is to get rid of him or stop playing him..........and see what happens......

I don't understand how anyone can support him right now.........This guy gets 4 million dollars a year to be a pro goalie...PRO!!..... are you kidding me? He sucks the big one........This is a joke

Maby Theo would be better if we got him a lead.........who knows? In reality we don't have the team to keep up with what he lets in.......no-one does

  7. Yes, this team is stuck, the problem is they are right there for the playoffs, unfortunately, many players are taking nights off. Theo is not the only problem on this team. The fact that they quit as soon as a bad goal goes in instead of working harder, they quit. I'm not saying Theo isn't playing poorly, i'm just saying this team is showing it's true colors. When the 4th line is your best night in and night out you have problems. I think Gainey will make moves to get rid of dead wood.

I'm sorry, but they came out hard and looked good against a really good team....but after Theo gave the puck to Stall behind the net???????????

    Did you see that?

He didn't even make an attempt to sprawl back into the net even though he knew he was screwed.....All he did was roll his eyes.

I don't blame the team for throwing in the towel........You just can't burn yourself against a team like carolina........I understand Team effort but when your weakest link is the goalie and he is slumping and acting the way he is game after game after game???? The greatest players in the Game (Gretzky, Richard, Mario, list goes on.............would give up too, you can't win every night 10-8 just cause your goalie sucks....That is our situation........

And don't say our defence isn't there................Theo is just really bad right now, and most likely done in Montreal. I respect that Gainey is patient, but the city of Montreal won't accept being medioker(sp?) let alone shit..........

His reaction to the Stall give away is the straw that broke the camels back.........In my eyes he's done........BG's eyes? I hope.....

I trust he'll figure out a clever way to get us a good return....

  8. under Habber uuuuu knows example I'm also changing my avatar for an Oliphant just for The teams sake!

Well CoRvInA.......... can't say we didn't try.......I'm raising my white flag and giving up just like THEO.

I saw on TSN that Theo is painting this on his new mask it's just not done yet.

  9. Does anyone know the nicknames for Bonk, Higgins, Markov & Bulis?

    Little help?

On to tonights game. Ribeiro being on line 1 might throw Carolina off balance. At least I hope so. If he carries over the Toronto performance into tonight, it means we can roll 4 lines that can score. Very balanced lines.

It'll be interesting to see if Ribs sticks around on line 1 for a full 60 minutes.

Theodore has a chance to steal one too. Hopefully he won't have to. At least we're "HOME".

I hope we see Zednik do an about face and get back to basics.

The sweet truth underlying this team is they're only going to get better and it will happen soon.

    GO HABS :hlogo:

Bonk doesn't need one his name is priceless all on it's own...............######in' Bonk.....could you imagine growing up with that........He needs a bonk ....in the head............LOSER!

  10. elephants are theo's lucky charm( non this year but...)

he said in an interview a few years ago. I don't remember where it all started, though

I'll help Theo out with a kneeling elephant of my own!

    Go Theo Go!!!

    Shut-out for our boy tonight!!!!!!!

  11. This is a realistic time frame... maybe 2 years if we're lucky. Perezhogin did well for awhile at the beginning of the year, but couldn't sustain it. Some of my HW friends seem to be getting pretty moist at the prospect of his return. His ice time was cut back for a reason, folks, and it will likely be limited on this second tour of duty. Hopefully he'll be really good one day, but I don't think it'll be this year.

I never really saw him lose a step... Koivu got hurt, and Kovalev went to flush his system of steroids...kidding!!! From there on Perez's time diminished and then he was sent down....I think he needs a couple of good shifts, maby a goal...and back to the first line he goes in this up coming game. I think we can see this kid be great by play-off time.

Remeber koivu and kovalev loved playing with him......they were the ones that had natural chemistry right off the bat........They'll find it quicker then you think.....

  12. elephants are theo's lucky charm( non this year but...)

he said in an interview a few years ago. I don't remember where it all started, though

kneeling elephants bring peace, good luck and fortune. A big spiritual thing in India. I wonder if Theo messed that up....or are they kneeling elephants?....i've never noticed it.
