  1. That would be hilarious. He could have also claimed Balej earlier this preseason when he was cut:) Gotta disagree on the hilarity there, Rooster. If it's true, I don't know what it means. It can't have been a true reflection of the kid's worth. Based upon the first game he played, he should have been, at worst, sent down to Hartford (I think that's the team). I can see it being more a case of GM politics of some sort, I don't know but it's just weird. It can't be the obvious... that doesn't really make sense. Anyway Rooster, it sort of sounds like taking enjoyment from someone else's hurt... not cool. :hlogo::ghg::hlogo: [Edited on 2005/10/3 by shortcat1] Oukay, the "hilarity" that I saw was linked to the irony of getting back what I consider to be two promising players which we had traded away (to get Kovalev and to make room for Perezhogin).....not that Hossa and Balej being cut was hilarious. I actually like the potential of both those guys.....and can't see why the NYR cut Hossa (if in fact he was cut). Read back my post, I said it would be hilarious (hilarious cause it's ironic) if we claimed them not that it was hilarious that they were cut. Geez Touchy! I agree that that would not happen though. BG and G. Sather seem to have a good relationship going and they have mutual interests in keeping that relationship going. The Rangers are rebuilding and Montreal has prospects, the Habs are starting to contend and the Rangers can fill gaps. They won't be lowballing each other in order not to undermine the relationship, but they won't be making gifts to each other either.

  3. Got fit Plekanec in there for some serious time on the 3rd / 4th line.
  4. Good cuts. Hainsey, IMHO, is a bust or very medeocre defenseman at best. Streit has showed continued improvement all through camp. Had a very good game last night. Think he can contribute to this team.
  5. Looks like the Sens are looking for payback for last night! Thank you Theo!
  6. Thanks. Are the two goons playing again tonight? How about Perezhogin?
  7. or, more likely, some guy's helmet. I still cringe at seeing 'in my memory's eye' Stéphane Quintal pounding somebody's helmet then sitting in the penalty box with a big bag of ice on his fist & wrist. If players are going to fight, there should be an 'unwritten rule' or something that says that both wear the helmet or both have them off. Kind of stupid to say, I know, but even a 'written' rule (NHL) that says that, in the event of a fight, both players have their helmets off. No way that would happen. yeah, especially that fights aren't allowed in NHL rules (it's a penalty). Thou shall not fight, but if thou disregards this and fights thou shall fight without thou's helmet. Not going to happen. The unwritten rule makes sense.
  8. That's last night's line up. Think it just hasn't been updated yet.
  9. So, other then the roster spot being fought over by Hainsey and Streit, the roster seems to be pretty much set. Perezhogin makes the team (unless two goons do!!!)
  10. Give credit where credit is due:clap: I do believe that this was the best move, but thought the trading of Hossa was done to fulfill what might have been perceived as an immediate need (GL's toughness) and not to free a spot for Perezhogin (hope it wasn't to free a spot for a 2nd goon anyway).
  11. Don't think the Habs secretely post on their website their final roster. Don't even think all final decisions regarding the final lineup have been made. Just think they list players still in camp (and the list may contain mistakes). Kind of reminds me of when, prior to signing Theo, the Habs marketing team but a newspaper add listing notable Habs...without Theo's name. Some people where all over the place claiming that this could indicate that the Habs were about to trade Theo. Don't think they give out clues of things to come on their website roster or newspaper adds. i wouln't read anything into it.
  12. From TSN today: "When I dropped my gloves, he just skated away. If he's looking for a French guy who will back it up, I'm his guy. Print it. I'll be more than happy to back it up." - Avalanche RW Ian Laperriere has issues with Sean Avery" Nice:)
  13. It won't be televised......but I think the cage aux sports will be showing it (like all home preseason games). Go Habs go!
  14. Yeap, plus Sourray got two assits and Pleks (1 goal and 1 assist) is the other 2 point man for the habs.
  15. Great to see Danis come up with a stealler performance. He needed a great game to boost confidence (both self and others).
  16. Don't know. Came and went. Think is was linked to it being the 99th post.
  17. Isn't he yet another Sen becoming a UFA next offseason. It's going to be though for them.
  18. All over 6-3 Habs win. Preaseason, but still very impressive.:)
  19. Higgins!!!!! empty net.....but well deserved for this guy!
