possibly, but they did get a good two way forward back in Marty Reasoner. Boston also got a decent prospect to. But giving up Samsonov is an indication that the season may be finished.

I'm not really dissapointed, I mean they got rid of Theodore and his huge contract and they got a decent goalie in Aebischer. The Todd Simpson pick-up was fine, cause it didn't really cost the Habs anything and they get a tough, physical defenceman and what I heard from the interviews with him, he seems to be a good guy to get along with.

This might not happen now, cause the Nucks just got Keith Carney so they may not want Souray anymore.

Seriously, I like Gainey being the GM in Montreal.....I just wished he had been more
Rutherfodlike (Carolina) during the two for one off-season's free agents availability.
I sometime feel that he doesn't take enought initiatives and prefer to let his players
write their own history and....downfall......and then gently dispose of them.
I agree with you PB, I wish Bob Gainey would take more initiative in the off-season to land a big-time player. But who knows, since Theodore's huge contract is gone maybe this summer could be interesting.

There is no way Kostitsyn who is our best offensive prospect is getting traded for Weinrich, you might might see Ferland for Weinrich but that's about all.
They are blowing things out of proportion and those are people who know nothing of the system.
If that is the actual market then I'm perfectly happy with this team thanks.

If we wanted to get Weinrich it would probably take, like you said, Jonathen Ferland, or a 3rd or 4th round draft pick at best.

Yes, unfortunately I have. They have got to be the stupidest sports fans in the whole wide world. And I know precisely what you mean. I know a couple of Boston fans and of course we bug each other, but at least we can admit that one team played better than the other.
I've got friends that are Red Wings fans and they aren't nearly as bad as leaf fans. Even though Montreal doesnt play Detroit that much but, they still aren't cocky when they do play them. I mean when Toronto wins one game, for instance tonight, now all the sport stations will say how good a team Toronto is and how they can be cup contenders.
By living in Windsor I get alot of Detroit media but they are not even that bad, and Detroit is one of the best teams in the league.

What a horrible game. I can't believe the amount of penalties callled against the habs. They did look tired out there and it showed but way to many penalties being called. Im sorry but you don't call a penalty when the team is already down two players. Only make the call unless it's really serious.
The refs have might as well been wearing maple leaf jerseys and chanting "go leafs go" through out the game.
Need a win against Boston on thursday in order to stay ahead.

Maybe with the injury to Keith Primeau cleared alot of cap room to get those two players today. But I'm not sure if it still adds up even if Primeau is gone for the season.
