  1. IIHF rules says he can't play for Kazakhstan since he has already played for Team Russia at the U-18's, U-20's and Senior National team.

Perezhogin was either on the taxi squad or was being considered for the taxi squad for Team Russia. He is stuggling over here but last year he was one of the top players in the RSL and he made the Senior National team at 19, something not many U-20 Russians do.

Oh, I didnt know that, so in the future Perezhogin may be playing for Russia.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

  2. I think it would have been great experience for Perezhogin to have played for his home country in the olympics. I'm not really sure why he wasn't named to the team. I mean if Nik Antropov is on the team, then surely Perezhogin should have been there.

    Any Comments??

  3. I think you are wrong Shortcat. Although it is never fun for a team to have to play top ranked team after top ranked team it does wonders for the rookies and other young players in the line-up. For Higgins, Plex, Zhog, K Rex, Markov and Ryder to get more playoff games under their belt the better they will perform in the future of the post season hopefully. Experience is an intrinsic part of development. Also although it is next to impossible to win the cup as a bottom ranked team I believe it is the best of both worlds. The team gets a shot at the cup and they get a respectable draft choice higher than any other playoff team.

I agree with you, I also feel that by reaching the playoffs is a great way to get experience for our young guns. Also, even if we only have three home games during the playoffs, least the fans will have something to cheer about and to look forward to the next season.

And if Montreal can beat out Toronto for that last playoff spot, then I feel that Montreal won a playoff series, because i hate the Toronto Make Me Laughs.

  4. Yes, credit to BG and Carbo for finding a good line combo.

I think splitting up Saku and Kovy really helped. Our opponents need to worry about shutting down two lines now instead of one.

I hope Ribs has found his niche, feeding Kovalev.

I agree PMK, that was smart by splitting up Kovalev and Koivu.

I really hope Perezhogin gets a goal tonight. He's had so many chances since his return from the minors and definetly deserves a goal.

  5. I was thinking, if they wanted to trade Sundstrom, trade him to Phoenix. Gretzky said that Nicklas Sundstrom was one of the smartest players he ever played with and really likes him. We could get a quality defenceman in return.
