  1. I don't know. I'm just answering his question. Perhaps they want a guy who can shoot the puck for Jagr to set up. Who knows.
  2. If Lundmark is available I would take that trade. He's young with potential and he has great speed which is very important these days. Doesn't look like Dags is going to crack this line-up so we should try to get something for him even if Lundmark has to go to the Bulldogs.
  3. I don't agree with your assessment of Robinson and Gainey. Larry Robinson is probably the one of the best all around defensemen the game has ever seen. He could do it all from carrying the play offensively, to play it tough and be a defensive stalwart. Gainey was the best defensive forward the game has ever seen. They invented the Selke award just for him because he was so good that they had to have some sort of trophy to acknowledge him. He won for the first several years it was in existence. The coach of those Russian teams that came over to play the NHL in the 70's and 80's said Gainey was the technically best hockey player in the world. That's no small compliment coming from a guy like that. Those 2 numbers should definitely be retired (19, 23). :hlogo:
  4. We're not going to see any 2.12 avg. at the end of this season from any goalie. Those days are over. As for Theo he has let in a few bad goals but it's not time to panick yet. It's going to be a long season so let's give it a few more games before jumping to conclusions.
  5. Hey kaos, I said case closed so your ignorant comments aren't going to goad me into a flame war. Nice try loser but this really is the last post I'm making in this thread. Go sh*t disturb somewhere else.
  6. I fully agree with you, Mark. He's there as eye, ear and brain candy. A big rush but not a whole lot good value to it. I just sit there and laugh (not in a deprecating way) but just enjoying what he's saying. :hlogo::ghg::hlogo: would you guysbe as willing to laugh it off if he made derogatory comments about visible-minority players or jewish players? If you are then you also are racists just like Cherry... bigotry is no laughing matter, even if it is about french-Canadians. Well I am usually laughing at him not with him if you get my drift. He's just like a car wreck; kind of revolting but hard to look away from.
  7. Thank you CoRvInA and others for having a sense of humour concerning the original comment. It was meant half jokingly but as it turns out it was completely accurate. I guess the mood and intent of the comment was lost on some :eyes:. From what I have experienced at this board so far I wouldn't expect an apology from kaos seeing that he has the rep as a trouble maker and all round......well nevermind, the matter is closed for me now with the article on RDS confirming me to be right. Case closed. :ghg:
  8. Just wanted to give Streit a chance to play. Story on RDS.
  9. This confirms exactly what I suspected Ribiero was taking about after the game Saturday: http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/189665.html All apologies can be rendered at your leisure.
  10. Wow what a bunch of nancies. First off a little english lesson. I said it SOUNDED like he was talking about Dags. I didn't say he was definetly saying something about him. Thought this was a hockey board where one could freely express opinions and just have random thoughts. Can I expect a court summons next . Sheesh. He could of been talking about Pierre Trudeau for all I know. SO WHAT! But wouldn't it make sense that he was talking about his linemate that was sitting out?? DUH...... Perhaps he was saying he hated Dags and hoped he died in his sleep. Wow touchy crowd. That time of the month or what.....
  11. I'm not really drawing any conclusions that aren't logical given the situation. They are friends and Ribs probably wants him in the line up. In fact reading over what I wrote, I draw no conclusions whatsoever. All I said was it sounded that way. Perhaps you need to learn to interpret written language better.
  12. Come on this is Don Cherry you're talkin' about here. Did you really expect him to be impartial? Everybody knows that he's pretty much a joke and what to expect from him. He's just there for shock value and entertainment, not to be taken seriously.
  13. It's good to see some familiar names here that have gone missing from espn. Dalhabs I suspect that the now banned beckham was Linden_Fan. He was very negative like Linden_fan and racist in his views of European players. Luckily we don't have to deal with either one anymore.
  14. I think it was Theo's weakest game so far but not all the goals were bad. The Domi deflection and the one where he was pushed into the net were not his fault. Luckily the Habs made up for it by finding their scoring touch. Koivu was awesome and Kovalev is starting to play better as well so it's lookin' up for the first line.
  15. that's all I heard last night in an after the game interview from Ribiero on the French cbc. I don't know exactly what he was saying but it sounded like Mike missed his boyfriend last night:D. I think Ribiero has to get over it because it's not lookin' good for Dags right now. It's good to be loyal to your friends but not if it hurts the team. :hlogo:
  16. I've been around the espn boards in one form or another for the past 5 years. Just registered for this place recently as espn has gone to the dogs. Anyone know what happened to Kozed? Haven't seem him around forever. Perhaps he had a name change.
  17. Well it was on cbc tonight. Can you afford a tv?
  18. I think fighting is gonna be way down this year because every little hook and slash is being called so there is less reason to fight. Fights usually start with a slash and since they're not allowed to do that anymore, there's not as many guys getting mad at each other and fighting goes down.
  19. The first goal on Theo wasn't too good but the second was deflected...nothing he could do about it. Theo is the reason Habs are still able to go 3-0 this season so I wouldn't be sitting him out yet.
  20. Told ya he had some jump out there. Another nail in the coffin for Dags.
  21. Habs are not looking sharp at all and are very lucky to be undefeated and tied in this game. The top line is not clicking at all. Not impressed at all except with Perezhogin who is the only one showing some jump on that line. Perhaps breaking up Koivu and Kovalev is in order. Leafs are doing a good job on the forecheck not letting the Habs getting anything going. Seems the refs are letting some stuff go already as there was a bit of hooking and obstruction by the leafs not called. Hope the Habs start playing better because their luck can't hold out forever. A good deal of the credit goes to Theo for keeping them in these games. :ghg:
  22. OK here's my part to make this thread bigger . I think the Habs will finish higher than the Leafs this season. When was the last time this has happened? It's been a while, I'm guessing close to 10 years. I know the answer could be easily found by doing a search on the internet but I'm too lazy for that right now. Anyone know off hand? :ghg:
  23. Do we really need to trade Dags right now? I mean we have enough players as it is and Dags makes a decent backup player. I say use him sparingly for a few games, use him on the power play and let him rack up some goals and then trade him later in the season for some D. We're not dying for someone to fill some space on the forward lines and what we would get for Dags right now is not much. Let him get some pp goals when he's filling in for injuries or otherwise. If he could get another 15 or so goals in 40 games his worth will increase and we may get a decent dman if we package Dags with someone else such as Dandeneault or Rivet. Let's be patient with Dags and his value may go up. Who knows maybe he will adapt and become a scoring machine. Ok I'm dreaming.
  24. I had the same feelings as you JeanLucPilon regarding Dags. I would often defend him and wonder why people would get on his case even though the guy is a one dimensional player but he could score goals and was cheap for the Habs to pay. Like you said he was on pace for 30 goals in 03/04. But with the coming of this new era in the NHL his weaknesses are becoming all too apparent. He is too slow and his lack of finesse causes him to fall behind the play and take bad penalties. His size isn't so much of an advantage anymore either because the new rules make large size much less important and somewhat of a hindrance at times because large players tend to be slower. Can you imagine a young Oleg Petrov playing for the Habs today? He would scoot around the ice like a water bug unimpeded and rack up some major points like he did in Europe. That would of been awesome but the rule changes came too late for him and us. Anyway back to Dags, these rule changes are very bad for him and the second line in general because it is a slower line but I think that if the speedster Perezhogin were put there it would make up for Ribs slow speed. Ribs is smart enough and has enough vision to adapt to the faster game. Defenders would be so busy trying to keep Perezhogin in check that it would give Ribs the time and space to setup his teammates. It's amazing what one guy with speed can do to a line and Ryder is adequate in that category as well so I think that line would be ok with Ribs there. Dags makes a good backup player because he can step in if someone isn't performing or is injured. He will always be a good guy to have on the power play where he can be setup for one-timers and unleash that rocket of a shot he has. I wish Dags the best but sitting out Perezhogin in his favour is a bad move. :hlogo:
  25. Just checked on the internet and Serge was 18.
