Huge game for the boys. A big win tonight before a tough 6 game road trip , would setup things lovely.. . Defence needs to come together more as a whole and no softies from price..
4-2 Habs

Never understood the hype over him. Makes you wonder why fans take to certain players with no apparent reason.
It’s because he’s a first round Russian prospect! I even remember when he was drafted, one of TSN panel experts called him a cheap version of Alex Ovechkin!! ( are you kiddy me) lol

Agreed hes not going. No way.
Hes the third line c. That isnt happening.
Agree also.
Basically getting Rid of Plekanec, was to make room for Kokanee on the 3rd line all season,..

Giving Niemi two starts in a row isn't a bad thing.
Either let it light a fire under Price.... or give Price time off to get his head right.
I’m not going to be that guy who brings up the 10.5 mil everytime things go south with Price. ( he’s getting paid for being a elite athlete in NHL) But “light a fire under price”? I certainly hope that’s one thing we don’t have to worry about him for next 8 years at that price tag! Getting his head back with focus and releasing all issues in his head , I’m all in on that .
I will not be at the game tonight but hoping for a odd win in Edmonton..

Back to back wins perhaps...
Price usually shows up for these MSG games.

Danault is playing the role that we had Plekanec in for many years. This line is being matched against the other team's top line. I don't see them taking him off that line and putting Kotkaniemi there.
Tatar and Gallagher are defensively responsible, also are producing offence, and can play big minutes and be a two way threat as a line with Danault. I think this would be the last line Julien breaks up... and its telling that it is the only line that has never changed. It has been a line, every single game and practice since the first day of training camp.
In that way, Danault is doing his job on that line.
If you put him with different wingers, all that means is that Tatar and Gallagher will get less minutes at ES, and Danault's new wingers will get more (as that line will still be used against the oppositions top line, and the opposition is going to play their top line big minutes). All good points and your probably right with all this. . I was on the line more of thinking of spicy up the first line with more offence and Danault with a more shut down line on the 3rd.
You and coach Julian seem to be on the same page with all this. And with the team wining , I stand corrected! ?

Great game by the boys last night! I was hoping for a top five pick or even with a little luck winning the lottery, but how do you go against these guys !
Am I the only one that was disappointed with Danault’s game last night? It seems like he’s not bringing much to the table during the game and Especially on that line with Gallagher and Tarta. . I would eventually like and expect to see the kid Kotka mid season or so spend time on that line and have Danault back centering the third line where he belongs...
Price looks a lot better then last year, but I’m not 100% convinced yet.its early and I’m sure he’ll work himself to top form.
The biggist reason for this turn around this year, imho is Gallagher! Even thoe this kid has been a great player from day one with this club. He’s brought his game and leadership to the next level. With the absence of Weber there is no doubt in my mind he is the true captain on this team right now and everyone is following suit..

Benn and Alzner on our top two D pairing? That scares the crap outer me!

I wonder if Weber will grab the torch
He has too! It’s a Habs tradition which comes with pride and honour...

I was very surprised and pleasantly happy with Domi’s play last night. Best player on the ice between both teams.. leafs had no answer when Habs threw out Domi 3rd line out! buzzing with speed, rushes and scoring chances...

Kotkaniemi reminds me of Bobby Smith..

31-39-12 74pts
7th Division
201 Goals
28th overall
Win the lottery and pick first overall
Price with a Mysterious injury and misses 8 weeks during the season

Calling it a Lower body injury, knee perhaps?
-
Galchenyuk put on IR.
-
I like the choice also.
Gallagher is all heart and soul, bleeds Habs colours and well respected by teammates, fans and organization.. But We all talked about Weber becoming a captain ever since the trade, great leadership and well respected by the league and referees...

The St. Louis Blues are likely going to keep Robert Thomas. He is one year older than Kotkaniemi. They have a legit top 3 Cs in Schenn, O'Reilly and Bozak. Kotkaniemi has done more in pre-season than Thomas.
By that measure, yes, you can justify keeping him.
He's done nothing in camp other than play well enough for a spot on this team.
Its a hard choice but I'd send him to Finland.
1) He can bulk up.
2) He can still get NHL games at the end of the Finnish season.
3) His dad is the coach in Finland and will give him first line C minutes. This isn't the typical Euro coach who sees a young kid and isn't invested in him long-term, and is only about the here and now and winning now and development of an 18 year old be damned. This is a coach who will truly care about Jesperi's development.
4) The Habs aren't winning... don't waste a year of his ELC, a year towards free agency, and a year towards him needing to be protected in expansion, on this season.
He can come in next year with Suzuki and Poehling, and perhaps our 2019 pick and they can really grow all together.
Well said....
thats what I meant to say! lol

Technically he's ready.
But there is zero point to play him as an 18 year old.
Give him his tryout games, send him back to Finland, he can come in next season a little heavier with a shot at the Calder.
I also agree with this totally. If this was a season of making the playoffs and taking a little run, absolutely he’s staying. Let’s not lose focus on our rebuild with hopefully a top 5 pick in the upcoming draft. Next season team will be younger, faster and top end prospect a year older. A better outcome on climbing the standings and hopefully one day soon, bringing old Stanly back home....

Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and 2nd generation Apple TV’s no longer work with NHL Live
It is still available
I only had a PS3, so I went out and bought a chromecast (paid $45) and it works with that.
Great!
I’ll look on purchasing one right away..
Thanks

Not good on price. This can be a minor day/day treak or a more escalated serious injury moving forward .
0-3 on this road trip.
