To me this has been happening every year for a long time around this time of year. Teams play loose at the start of the year and it plays good for the system that MT has. But when teams play more of a defense system when trying to make a push for the playoffs , this team seems to go in a tail spin.
MT isn't the right coach for this team. I get why we hired him in the first place. But now there are a lot better coaches out there it's time for a change.

The only one who needs an earful is MT. This guy has more lives then a cat. Anyone notice every year around this time the team seems to slide.

Forget about him we don't have the prospects or talent to make a big trade like that. I say MB does nothing big at trade deadline.

drafting smarter, look at the 03' draft we could of had Bergeron and getzlaf on this team. We have missed out on a lot of nhl stars and drafted players that haven even ended up in nhl. That's what I mean by drafting smater.

Red wings, Blackhawks, pens, Sharks have all drafted good players . You don't need to tank just draft smarter which we don't do.

Mb isn't building throught the draft. The fact is our prospect pool is weak ever since the cord now was called up (price,pac,gally) and at the time subban we never really re stocked the farm. Now we are feeling the effect of it. We don't have high prospects to pull off trades for top 6 players. Prospect we have now in the eyes of others are bottom 6 players. Don't know what we are doing wrong but we need to improve our drafting and re stock our farm system.

Why would price's comments irk anyone? He didn't say anything bad about anyone. All he said was Shea game fits the habs better because of the way the team is coached. He is right in what he said. If we had any other coach PK would still be on the team. That's what I got out of his comments.

You want to break down this trade...
With PK we finished 9th last in the league.
With Weber Nashville made the playoffs and had a good run.
PK is top 5 when it comes to offensive defenseman
But when it comes to defensive defenseman I wouldn't even put him in the top ten.
Weber is top 5 when it comes to defensive defenseman.
When it comes to offensive defenseman I would put him in the top 10.
When it comes to trying to clear the front of the net in the last min of a game to get the win I would much rather have Weber.
I would say we got the better of the trade for what we need now.
What I don't get is if your going to trade a top trading chip like PK is why not get what this team hasn't had in the last 20 years which is a top playmaking center. That's what I don't understand.
But when you take that out and look at the trade itself I think Weber is the better player.

After taking the time to look at this trade , I like what Weber brings to the team over PK.
If we got Weber and PK was not part of the trade everyone would be loving this trade. But because it's PK going the other way people don't like it.
If we traded markov 5 years ago this trade doesn't happen. If we signed PK long term at the 6mil he wanted at the time this trade doesn't happen. If we fired MT this trade doesn't happen.
I want to see what MB does July 1st and who else he brings in before I give up on this organization.

Weber is the type of guy we need on the back end to help this team. But I would of never traded PK I would of traded max befor I trade PK.
PK is traded because MT doesn't like him and never did.

This is all on Mb. He could of had him for 3mil less a year. Now that PK doesn't have MT holding him back look out .

If we're going to throw trade proposal out, here is one trade I think would work out for both teams.
To Edmonton
1st round pick +fucale +Galchenyuk
To habs
Hopkins
We get a number 1 center, and this deal helps save Edmonton money for when they are going to have to resign McDavid after his rookie deal is done, and also reunites gal with yak.
We then deal emelin to a team for a pick to save some money.

If I am the habs I am hoping a teams top 4 d goes down and a team comes calling for emelin. Try and get a 2/3 round pick for him.

When it comes to trades with big name players, teams when asking for a young roster player always ask for Gallagher.
I hope mb just goes after ward. Ward is money in the playoffs and that's the type of player we need.

If someone signs gal to an offer sheet let's say 5mil/7 years if you're mb do you let him walk or match it.

Dd is our 1st line center because he is from Montreal. Otherwise he would be a 3rd line center on an other team

Eller, Tinordi, and Prospect??/Picks for Yakupov, McCarron, Khaira

The one thing I learned from ek is when he post news about the habs and players linked to the habs, those players never end up coming to the habs.

That tells me the price for sharp is way to high, and no gm is willing to pay it.

We don't need to over pay for a top rw. We just need to bring in people that show up in the playoffs. If mb can get picks for Eller and emelin I would take it. With the money we save Sign beauchemin, hodgson, frolik

What gets me is he says he won't trade top prospects , but when you make a trade like the PK trade. You are saying your all in and trying to win a cup now. If that's the case then to get a top guy that will put you over the top now you trade that top prospect to get him. If your not then the PK trade is pointless .
