Another thought would be Ilya from the khl. He has said he wants to come back to the nhl. Just think of a top line of
Max-joe-ilya. Could be just what we need to put us over and make us true cup contenders.

For the window of opportunity that we have to try and win a cup, Thornton would be a perfect fit here as a number 1 center.

We are a playoff team but not cup contenders. I say we are still a few players away. A big number one center, a number one right wing game breaker sniper and we need bigger more physical d-core to box players out from trying to crash the net and get to price. Until we fix these things this team will always have trouble playing bigger faster physical teams.

Gonchar needs to play. He is the only one on this team that has won a cup. He needs to bring that cup ring into the dressing room, and tell the guys if they want to win this ring you all need to step up and play hard. The way your playing your not even going to get to sniff this ring. Maybe then they will wake up.

Not bad a lot of grit and speed in that line up. We are a team that rolls 4 lines and I think the trades today helped a lot.

I say he stands pat. Don't over pay just to make a deal on deadline day. If it's going to cost to much walk away. We have money come July 1st, no need to over pay now.

Under the right system yakupov is a 40 goal scorer. It's just Edmonton put a bunch young guys together and expected them to be good right away. Look at how we have brought in gal. If yakupov was brought in the same way he would be a much better player today.

Kessel could be this year's gaborik, for a playoff team that's needs scoreing to put them over the top. The thing is he is going to get 29 million over the next 3 years. That's alot of money. It's 8 million a year but bonus put it at 10 million a year over the next 3 years. I would say no to that. But if leafs eat 4.5 over the 3 years because after that it drops off, then I would do it. Paying Phil 5.5 is alot better then paying him 10.

Does anyone know if eller and emelin no trade kicks in right away our is there a window in which we can trade them before it kicks in.
