  1. you cant compare the two just because of their salary. briere got his money because he's clutch in the playoffs year after year. mb signed him for just that reason..and yes he did help us this post season. however, eller will get more icetime because hes an outstanding two way center. the egg line will contribute as a #2 offensive line, and earn their extra minutes. pleks line will be #3, but their icetime will be determined by the opponent. would I put the egg lines minutes against dd patch and parenteaus? yes anyday

  2. mb is kicking himself for that bridge deal. should've given him 6.5 for 6 years back then! he's probably pissed off about it because subban has all the bargaining power. and after ellers contract there's still about 12 mil left under the cap. wow, this is gonna be huge

  3. yes it is rare..but some lines do stick..even get dubbed special nicknames. wishful thinking on my part..but ive got a ton of faith in these guys.

I don't recall saying I wanted the Habs to re-sign him for $1.7 million? Which post did I say that in?

yep, you did..you said I expect them to re-sign him for 1.7 a few posts ago
  4. chew on this before you close the thread: suppose the egg line plays together for an entire season(highly probable)...Gallagher and Galchenyuk are both up for new contracts next year..how good are they going to be this year?! all you naysayers had better recognize when eller gets 70+ pts!! that line will get their fair share believe me

  5. Whomever? piss on that, he leaves the Habs I hope he folds the first year.

did u cheer for larry robinson when he went to LA after his hall of fame career in mtl or did u piss on him too? obviously I wish pk stays for atleast 10 years but that's becoming more n more rare in todays "business first" nhl. should he be traded or sign elsewhere after a stellar career in mtl, I guarantee he'll get a heroes welcome much like robinson and koivu did.

  6. YESSSSSS!! Eller is locked in for four years! I don't care what he's making, just glad he's in! still 12 mil left to work out subbans deal and we're all set. personally, i'd sign pk at 8 mil per year..then save whatever for intangibles throughout the year. maybe a rental again at the deadline who knows?

  7. nothing but every other tram in the nhl would give him 8 in a heartbeat. I don't like long term deals either but this guy is the exception. have some faith don.

wouldn't it be nice if subbans career resembles that of a chelios or lidstrom? he's off to a great start for sure..lets hope he has the durability to give us(or whomever) a 20 year hall of fame career!

  8. lets not forget that eller just turned 25 years old here. he's entering his prime, and that playoff is only the tip of the iceberg for him. far too many of you fail to realize that everybody developes at a different pace. some are ready at 21, some at 27, and rarely do u ever see an 18 year old Nathan McKinnon step right in. believe me, lars ellers playoff was no fluke! and from the looks of things in mtl, the egg line just may be reunited. you want 70+ points from him? you'll get it, just wait an see

  9. say that subbans srbitration case rules on a 2 year, 7.5 per contract..does that necessarily mean that mb will have to trade him within 2 years so we don't lose him to ufa? and, will he not bring a huge return because every team will know they can just wait out his deal, and not give up the house for him in a trade? man, im stressing again, and the season isn't even started

  10. I wouldn't want to play with Plekanec either. I don't think any od them do. I remember Cammalleri griping about not playing with Desharnais. Plus he was a free agent, you run that risk with rentals.

I wish someone would take the #13 so I can replace the Cammalleri nametag on my home jersey! Gallagher would be an ideal #13!!

  11. Even after seeing Vanek shit the bed in the playoffs, I still would have signed him for what Minni gave him. That top line of Vanek-DD-Pac had some serious chemistry in the regular season.

I was loving the acquisition until he was taken from the first line. that's when it sure looked like he quit on the boys. gotta question a the mans integrity when he says "I wasn't feeling it" or " there was no chemistry" the habs don't need anybody like that. and I don't care if he succeeds in minny. heaven forbid if he doesn't play with parise or on the pp.... good riddance, big baby!
