prust's often injured shoulder has me wondering about his effectiveness.
-
Well if either one of Beaulieu or Tinordi gets sent down then I guess MB signs Bouillon. Great.
lets hope boullion is done...nb and jt should both make it
-
Patrick Kane can be a lazy back checker at times. Lucic is a better all around player.
???? u must be smoking something other than stogeys
-
i'd say that it's very likely he'll be given every opportunity to succeed with the habs. he's already accustomed to playing against men in the khl...a league that may be more similar to the pace and size of the nhl than we think. therefore, i'll guess that he stays and contributes on a 3rd scoring line..that's right, the habs offense will be much deeper this season.
-
He'll probably start the year in Montreal I would think
at the risk of losing yet more veteran presence, travis moen's roster spot may be better suited to a young up n comer..jmo
-
OK, I think 99.9% would take Bjugstad, but was never a comparison between he and Gallagher, not sure who proposed that?
Like saying Patrick Kane is better than Lucic, no one would trade the smaller guy for bigger, but dumb comparison.
Look in hall of fame and majority are average sized players and I just say SIZE blinds some dumber GMs (who are so dumb or lazy they cant tie their own tie) and many fans and is overrated (cept on defense, where size/strength can be a big advantage around own net/in corners).
i'd take Patrick kane over lucic any day of the week and twice on Saturday

Yeah I agree, there just aren't enough of the fergy's and proberts to go around. They played regular shifts and looked after their team mates. Today's tough guys cant play hockey. I still think a John Ferguson or Bob Probert et al can play on anybody's
yep, couple of bad dudes right there

no
Scherbak Galchenyuk Gallagher
Lehkonen Eller Anrdighetto
Sekac Bournival McCarron
De la Rose Holland Crisp
Tinordi Subban
Bennett Pateryn
Dietz Thrower
Fucale
===============================
Pacioretty Desharnais Parenteau
Bourque Plekanec Weise
Prust Malhotra Thomas
Moen Dumont Fournier
Beaulieu Gilbert
Emelin Nygren
Ellis Weaver
Tokarski
Who win's? Tokarski or Fucale?
no contest..the vets will toy with them

That's why your not a g.m . Im sorry to say it but Gallgher doesn't even come close to Bujugstad. The kid is 6'6 220 and put up 16g 22a which lead Florida in points in his first full season. Good shut down guy with a laser of a shot. He's honestly a model player. Watch this kid next year if Florida's struggles don't persist. He's a gem.
I agree 100% stogey..bjugstad is an elite first liner..Gallagher is a 2nd liner. no comparison. theres no gm in the world that would trade bjugstad for Gallagher. although I love his heart and motor, id rather take bjugstad
-
there will always be room for tough guy in the nhl..however, these guy will also have to effectively play 3rd or 4th line minutes..i think the one-dimensional "goon" position will eventually become obsolete
-
ryan johansen is the next superstar..guarantee he gets 40+ goals this year

clark vs mcsorley might've been the best fight ever.
-
I'm sure many here remember Chad Kilger.
yep, 6'4" of mamas boy from right here in cornwall
-
Your statements (all of them)are music to my ears. Finally somebody is getting it. KUDOS
haha, thanks blue, i'll be here all week! don't forget to tip your waitresses
-
i'm pretty sure mb will not sacrifice a ounce of skill or speed in order to get bigger! that's why i'm saying that it's a process to transform the team. these type of players don't exactly come to us in every round of every draft. and yes, you build through the draft...however you can add the random free agent to supplement the roster. it'll take some time to find enough of these guys.
...there are players with size that don't actually use it too...anyone remember that huge waste of space peter popovic? imagine if Frankie b had that size?
-
kings did it every series. going through the sharks in 7, ducks in 7, and hawks in 7 is quite a bit harder than going through the lightning and bruins. kings are big, tough, skilled, and tenacious...that's why they're champions
We have Tinordi.
you're right..i can't wait to see him play a full season. he'll be a beast by dec, then look out
-
exactly..and im not saying we got abused either, because we threw the body around just as much as they did..but that too takes its toll, for sure. we're better off without gionta, briere and gorges. if only douglas murray could skate, damn!
-
matt schmaltz is going to be a tough one..i seen him in Sudbury..not bad for a young kid
-
no, my thinking is that its a tough grind getting through the playoffs..believe it or not, the bruins series took its toll. the rangers series wasn't close. most of the shots were from the perimeter. that's a tired bunch. and Thomas vanek doesn't even deserve to be mentioned..he quit when he was removed from 1st line. eller, and bourque did well for most of the playoffs, galchenyuk was ok when he returned. pacioretty is the next john leclaire, just watch
-
having a size issue against Pittsburgh isn't the same as having it against the kings or bruins. it's a tough grind getting to the scf. the habs had very little gas left against the rangers this year. does bigger mean better? no not necessarily, but it may make them more durable for the long haul. mb is changing the overall dynamic of the team from a small, fast regular season team with skill into a bigger, skilled playoff team with just as much speed....much like the prototype of the past several sc winners. habs are close to being perennial contenders
-
it'll take McCarron 2 years before he even gets the chance to get 15 pts with the habs. sekac may be this years diamond in the rough that sticks with the big club. having de la rose, andreghetto, crisp, and sherbak in the pipeline is encouraging too. if you take a good look at the past 10 sc winners, how many of them had size issues? none. mb and his staff are changing that..slowly, yes, but its a process
-
my sentiments exactly. bickell plays that tough playoff style hockey. we need more guys like him. plekanics line was highly ineffective in 5-on-5(mostly because of giontas weak board play)...and during playoffs, 90% of the game is at even strength
-
how can the habs pry bordeleau out of Colorado? he makes 1 mil this year and next...maybe travis moen and change? I know he makes more money, but he may only have one year left in him
-
42: Amount of games last season Bickell played where he played less than 13 minutes in the whole game.
2: Amount of games last playoffs Bickell played where he played less than 13 minutes in the whole game.
He's a weird player, but it's like him and Bourque and Penner are in the same category. Big guys who only wake up in the playoffs.
that is weird..wth is with these guys? hard partiers or what? sure seems like bourque plays with a hangover!

100% against this foolishness! eller is about to have a breakout season, beaulieu has the potential to be an allstar for many years, and you want to throw in a first rounder just for kicks? I thought bob gainey left the team a few years ago? holy mother of god, what were you thinking? eller was our best forward on the way to the eastern finals...wow don, not cool
