dustin penner has been mentioned lately in the rumor mill...could he be the other big forward on 1st line? dd seems to thrive playing with 2 big guys. I haven't seen enough of him in the past 3 years, so i'm not sure what's left in his tank?

You wouldn't be giving away Beaulieu, but trading skilled young d for skilled young forward.
Would love to see Beaulieu be a top pairing d-man this year, but same can be said about Gallagher getting 50 goals this year...nice dream.
Don't think anyone questions Beaulieu's confidence, skills & skating; but, his mental game is suspect.
As well, Habs have guys with good puck skills in Hamilton, in Pateryn, Bennett, Dietz, Thrower (and uggg... Nygren), which may make parting with Beaulieu for skilled forward palatable (unlikely but wouldn't be a huge surprise).
yes, I agree that you'd have to give up quality to get quality in return...however, i'd take beaulieu over those defensemen anyday..and any two nygrens! isn't he the guy that played 1 shift in winnepeg, was totally awestruck, then therrien pinned him to the bench? three weeks later he moved to Sweden. he may have sealed his fate right there. either way, I bet beaulieu solidifies his place by November and has an amazing career in mtl

man, if I were bourque, i'd be a little nervous with 3 young studs knocking at the door. he'd better play like he did in the playoffs rather than lollygag through another regular season!

why give away beaulieu? kids got serious skills and I wouldn't be surprised if he supplants markov this year.
