TheAussiePosse
Just looking back over ancient scouting records (well, not that ancient). McKay did really well in NJ on a line with Bobby Holik and Mike Peluso. Now 'Lucy' is retired, but Holik is in New York. 2 trade ideas: 1: Back to NJ (I've been saying that for a while, but I think they don't want his contract or his age) 2: To NY. Put Sandy McCarthy on LW, you have a humdinger of a line. Even a 6th rounder like Gilmour would suffice. McCarthy-Holik-McKay If McKay didn't pick it up, I wouldn't be shocked or upset, but i'd be the same if he did. We're probably stuck with him for another year at least, and you never know, he might actually play like a real forward this season. I'll end with a quote about him from the '95-'96 season (CBA if you remember): "McKay is an absolutely ferocious fighter... Not one player has a backhand shot like McKay... More than once last season McKay beat the defender 1-on-1 by setting his skates wide, dangling the puck, then drawing it through the defender's legs and blowing past him for the shot - and often a goal" Remeniscient of Zednik? Wide legs, good move, scoring chance. well, i thought so [Edited on 2003/5/28 by TheAussiePosse] [Edited on 28-5-03 by Habs77]
