He’s made his mark as a fighter and said the tough stuff will always be part of the game, despite criticism fighting is unnecessary.

“Everybody has their own opinion. As far as the rules there’s still going to be a need because some teams will play it tough. Some people might think there’s no need for it, but Anaheim (Ducks) had the most fighting majors last year and they won the Stanley Cup,” Bonneau said after the Rocket practice.

“(A) fourth line player has to make a contribution to his team other than just fighting,” said Bonneau. “You need to be responsible in your own zone, you need to be able to skate, you need to be able to be very physical especially with defencemen down low in the offensive zone, go to the front of the net, create traffic, you know, bring something else like that.”
