Habs77
Apparently he has accepted a 5 year deal with an undisclosed team rumored to be either Atlanta or Anaheim. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=47...192&hubName=nhl [Edited on 17-7-03 by Habs77]
puck7x
4-5 Million per year imo is way too much for a player of Prospals level , 1st of all he had a career year , he has never had a year even close to last year before , 2nd of all it was a contract season , and 3rd of all he was playing with Lecavalier and/or Richards etc ... Whoever pays him 4-5 million per year will be making a big mistake.
sakiqc
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=47509 5 years 17,5M$ Great deal for him! He was making 1,55M$ last year.. now, after his best season in his career he got a long term 5 years deal, and a 3X time his salary
Habs77
I'm guessing that with all the bonus clauses that are never included in the deals that are announced... the deal ends up looking a lot like the 5 year 20-25M deal they were talking about last week. Prospal has cashed in with a team desperate to sign someone, anyone, to make up for the Kariya fiasco. Good for him, but he's not worth that much... especially not in this budget-conscious environment. They overpaid. Not bad for Prospal, from sunny Tampa to sunny Anaheim... life can really be hard sometimes
