GoHabs2002
Bob Gainey held a press conference today to speak on his first quarter evaluation; www.rds.ca Only a few noticable comments: - LIKES Claude Julien's coaching (is this one of those votes of confidence before firing...I don't think so) - THinks that if the team played to its maximum more often we could have 3 or 4 points more than what we do have. - Says that Koivu has only played to his maximum in up to two games so far, and he and Zenick could play better (first criticism of Koivu since coming to Montreal???, he'll take that as a challenge and come out strong). - Says that it would be easier if there were bigger players (duh) and said that he would like to see his current players play up to par before making trades (no sh!t, makes it a helluva lot easier to dump players). - Lastly, speaks about Comrie and that he doubts He'll come to Montreal. Nice for him to come out. THe onus is on the players now, they know exactly what the GM thinks Also, I like the fact that Gainey speaks to players individually. First Ryder, then Hainsey and Hossa before they were sent down. Great organizational leadership.
gazer
Obvious comments mostly but like you say good that he is doing these and is not afraid to comment on Koivu for example. Frankly if Koivu and Zednick don't come finish closer to a point per game we'll end up with a top 5 pick in next years draft.
