montreal
Looks like he will play for Team Belarus in France this saturday for the WJCs. From IIHF.com, U20 Division I, Group B (Briancon, FRA, Dec. 13-19) Belarus had a mixed bag last with its junior hockey. It’s U18 team finished in eighth place at the U18 World Championship, just enough to keep it in the top division, while its U20 team finished a disappointing 10th at the U20 World Championship. Now those players from the surviving U18 team will make their way to this year’s U20 Championship and hope to work their magic to promote Belarus up to the top division. Belarus will undoubtedly rely on the one-two punch of forwards Andrei Kastsitsyn and Kanstantsin Zakharov. Kastsitsyn made history by becoming the first-ever Belarus first rounder in the NHL-draft being picked 10th overall by Montreal last summer. He was also second in scoring at the U18 World Championship with six goals and nine assists. Zakharov was a third round selection of St. Louis. The biggest obstacle for Belarus will be host France, which finished an underachieving fourth at last year’s Div. I U20 World Championship after being in the top division in 2002. France and Belarus have an interesting history at the U20 World championship. In 2002, the teams met in the Relegation Round and Belarus needed a lengthy shootout in the final game to earn the right to stay in the top division. France was sent down to Div. I and has struggled ever since. France will be looking for redemption when it gets another shot at Belarus."

Is he Andrei's brother ?He wears #22 while Andrei has the #23. Also, does Belarus have to win the his championship to go to the WJC ? Kasty is tied for 2nd in scoring in the tournament, as a teamate of his has 10 pts. Siarhei is Andrei's younger brother. I think that Belarus has to win this tournment to move up for the next tournment, which would be the world cup. But maybe that doesn't count, so they would be moved up for the next WJC, which Kasty would then be able to play, which would be his 5th trip I believe. The game is at 1 pm tomorrow and it's for the championship, as Belarus has only one game after that, against Japan, so a win tomorrow and they should win it all. :hlogo:
