  1. See what I meant when I said he can skate backwards better than he can forward. Beautiful hit on a very big forward. He still blows his coverage once in awhile. But he's the kinda of guy who I think is going to break out in the playoffs. The Thornton hit last year really shifted the tide in the series and Komi brings it and then some for big games.
  2. So Theodore is making how many thousands per save tonight?
  3. I'm not going to continue this banter on much longer because I already won this childish and definitely lopsided argument... but just to tell you... 6 figures isn't impressive. I clear that easy even if I paid taxes. All you've shown is that you're a gopher for a canadian band. Big whoop... you live out in bumble###### and the land value of your house (and the four stilts of wood that it's made out of) is less than it costs to send my two kids to prep-school for a year. What's funny (or sad, depending on which way you look at it) is that's the reality.
  4. Don't start... you're biting off way more than you can chew... son.If you followed the Habs like a real fan you'd know that the only reason that Dagenais is on the team is because of Ribeiro. Everyone on this MB will back me up on that statement. He's getting a shot because of his chemistry with Ribeiro which now seems non-existant in the New-NHL. He'll be gone by December. Wanna bet? Oh wait, you're probably broke as a joke -- nevermind. As for the McGratton comment, I guess you missed the game last week where he plastered Ribeiro into next week on an illegal hit. Actually, you probably were watching the game... just that head was just up your ***. And FYI, Vandemeer isn't on the team.
  5. Yes, we do need a goon. McGrattan looks like trouble and you know Toronto is always down for the cheap shots. And Dagenais is an insult to the 2005 edition of the CH. If you deny that, then you don't know hockey. Plain and simple.
  6. From watching him live in a few games this season, I've noticed that he's much better at skating backwards than skating forward. Which is a good thing for a defenceman. His recovery speed does need a tad bit of improvement but his most glaring skating deficiency is on the breakout.[Edited on 2005/11/1 by goHabs2005]
  7. He's been playing well of late and is starting to log some decent ice-time. Another 15 minutes tonight. It's a shame about his off-ice issues. Hopefully things get better at home and he can concentrate 100% on hockey.
  8. He really has no one to blame but himself. Our best trio has been Higgins-Begin-Perez but they aren't getting any ice-time and none of those individuals are getting bumped up... even with Zednik out for the last 3 minutes of the period.
  9. Wow. Dagenais definitely has compromising pictures of Boivin or Gillett. No way this stiff deserves to still get ice-time let alone PP time.
  10. Arghh... Why couldn't Lundqvist break Dagenais ankle with that slash?
  11. How did Dagenais regain a spot in the lineup? Sure, he played decently for 6-7 minutes on Saturday but he's still our worst player by a fair margin.
  12. He's not paid near enough to play with that crappy excuse the Habs call "defense." He's taken average teams to the playoffs, and the 2nd round (twice). I'd say that's amazing enough to earn him that contract. Considering Theo has never played with a good, consistent All-star defensemen like Martin Brodeur or even Dan Cloutier, I was surprised he didn't leave. Oh right, our horrible defense that's among the league leaders in shots-allowed. And in addition to not allowing many shots, you can't say that Theo is facing a plethora of high-quality scoring opportunities every game. Our defense is average and it definitely isn't the reason for Theo deciding to not show up so far this season. He carried an awful team back in 2001-2002... and got rewarded for it with a hefty contract. He didn't do anything spectacular in 2003-2004 and was horribly inconsistent. He was seeing alot of rubber, though, and that season could of been worse if he didn't steal us the occaisional game. But there's simply no excuse for his sub-par play so far. He gets paid the big-bucks to make the big stops, and he's simply not getting it done. [Edited on 2005/10/30 by goHabs2005]
  13. It's pretty clear that Theodore isn't earning his salary. :contract:
  14. We don't need to. Markov-Rivet Souray-Komi Boullion-Dandenault
  15. It was a turnover by Zednik, not Dandenault. First clearing attempt, second one I saw #25 on the uniform... Maybe my peepers are failing me too. RIS just showed the Dandy Man give the puck to Vermette. I dont have to fix my peepers just my hearing... HOORay!!! Got to go guys it was a blast.... [Edited on 2005/10/28 by Howie_Morenz] No chance. Dandenault made a no look pass right to Zednik's stick and he lost control and tried to kick it away... but the puck went right to the goal-mouth where Vermette put it in.
  16. that's not what i'm hearing... i'm hearing that he played well but that he was responsible for this mistake... not bad for a guy who's been away.. And what exactly was he trying to do on the 3rd goal? Kick it out of bounds?
  17. He should be on a shorter leash because he's much older than the other rookies. 5 years older.I do not agree. Isn't there a proverb about old dogs and their abillity to learn? Treat Streit as a rookie. He deserves it. He is one. I consider him as less of a rookie than a guy like Komisarek (I know he's not a rookie, but he's the closest thing to one on our D) who he was taking ice-time away from... so that's why it's an issue. It's not like our forward situation where our rookies are replacing stiffs like Dagenais.
  18. He should be on a shorter leash because he's much older than the other rookies. 5 years older. Anyways, it looks like Julien heeded my remarks since Streit's been riding the bench after that stupid giveaway. Looks like it's all she wrote for this guy.
  19. I'd give him all the chances in the world if he was invisible on the ice and was working to cater his game to the NHL level. Unfortunately, he's not... and caused another glaring mistake tonight (Is Chara not big enough to see?) that we can't have if we want to finish in the top-6 of our Conference. Get this bum a plane ticket back to Switzerland.[Edited on 2005/10/28 by goHabs2005]
  20. I'd rank the Swiss league as around 5th in europe. They're behind: the Swedish League, the Russian League, the Finnish League, the Czech League, and the Slovakian League. In other words, what Streit did over-seas is a very poor indicator of how he projects in the NHL. It means nothing to me, personally.
  21. I think Streit has been lousy. He brings nothing special in the defensive end and he's easily pushed off the puck. On offense and on the PP, he hasn't managed to impress me and last game he not only didn't do jack, but he made two brutal plays on our power-play which led to scoring opps. for the Flyers. He's not even a big deal with much in the way of potential... A 27-28 year old that tore up the Swiss league? Whoop-de-doo. All I know is that he shouldn't be taking minutes away from Komisarek and that's pretty much the only thing I've disliked out of Julien this season.
