Just checked (took me a while) and the answer is no.

Nov 4. We scored 1st and trailed 2-1 after 2 periods.

Nov. 5 We led 2-1 after 2 periods and scored to make it 3-1.

Well I was close. Thanks for checking...:/)

    You are welcome.

Looks like we are starting to apply some pressure.:ghg:

    Peter Puck, love the avatar!!!!!!!

Actually, what you said is the truth. Low, Low scoring game by the looks of it.

Thanks, I liked my Gainey/H. Richard avitar but I thought I should go with something more in character.

    :)

That Avatar was something??? puck in intermissions when I was a kid. cannot remember his name. Was it Peter Puck? It was great when I was a kid as I liked the intermissions.

Yep - that's Peter Puck. Here is an article

The fact is that Dagenais is a marginal NHL player who had the misfortune of starting his career right before the new rules came in.

If it werent for the premium now placed on speed then his sniping abilities and large frame would make him a decent player..as it is hes too much of a liability defensively for what meager offerings he does bring to the table.

All of that aside..with the large number of injuries we are seeing develop over the course of this season I just feel that his presence here takes up a roster spot that could be filled by a player with much better all around skills that would be useful to the team in many more ways.

If he were not french canadian from montreal then RDS TQS LA PRESSE and the journal would have been hollering for his head for months now.

I completely disagree with the highlighted statement. I do not know who we could replace Dags with. We don't want to bring up one of our prospects - they are much better off getting ice time in Hamilton than getting 2-6 minutes per night with the Habs. We could bring in a new player but we don't want to spend any more than we pay Dagenais.

Although you may not feel that he was worthy of 3rd star against Florida his contribution to that game certainly put him in the top 6-7 Habs for that one night. I think it very unlikely we could find someone more useful for similar money. In many respects Dagenais is an excellent 20th guy on the roster in the new NHL with its shootouts.

Again, here's a post that I made on another string about this subject. I'm adding it here for your consideration.

"Carey Price is experiencing a cruddy beginning to this season. Here's his stats so far:

    7 games

    389 minutes played

    210 shots against

    29 goals allowed

    0 shut outs

    4.48 average

    0.862 save percentage

    1 win

    5 losses

Don't know what the factors are. The Tri-City Americans lost 6 - 2 last night but it wasn't Price in nets.

The Tri-City Americans have the worst record in the whole WHL with 3 wins, 7 losses, 38 goals for & 48 goals against."

    :hlogo::ghg::hlogo:

Well Price has really picked up his game since shortcat1 posted the above on October 27.

    Here are his current stats:

    18 games

    1026 minutes played

    559 shots against

    53 goals allowed

    0 shut outs

    3.10 average

    0.905 save percentage

    5 wins

    8 losses

That means in the intervening month he has these stats:

    11 games

    637 minutes played

    349 shots against

    24 goals allowed

    0 shut outs

    2.26 average

    0.931 save percentage

    4 wins

    3 losses

I'd say he is back on track.

    :can:

very nice work and calculations, pp. :/) Truly appreciated. :/) :/) :/)

You are most welcome shortcat1 (is there a shortcat2?).

We all have to help out watching the prospects - especially now that Beckham is trolling elsewhere.

Yes they played two or three (or more?) quotes. The ones I remember were Tucker exhorting his teammates after the 2nd, 3rd and 4th goal. Each time he was shouting that "the next shift is the important one" and something like "we can get back in this game".

IF montreal stays out of the penalty box, they should get 6 points.  They proved early on that they could defeat conference foes so I expect wins....

Do you mean conference or division. The first non-conference game of the season will be December 3rd when LA visits. I am guessing you meant we must win in our division.

However, I don't see why it makes much difference, except that we play the majority of our games within the division. Of course, by some unexplainable fluke the games within the division are also against our traditional rivals. If we thought we could win the division then it would be important but no one is going to catch Ottawa.

I think it is more important to win our non-division games since these tend to be against weaker opponents. I hate losing to weaker teams.

Mont Royale, I heartily disapprove of posts apparently complaining about people padding their number of posts, but in reality made in order to pad ones own total. Tsk, Tsk.

Blast - you caught me! (the more we talk about this, the higher my post total gets.. hahahahaha)

That can't be right can it? That would be totally unfair.

in my opinion they should have been allowed to work through a bit of a slow start and would have been fine.  ryder's early injury during camp didn't help things as far as jelling under new rules together.

i don't believe it helps to keep rotating wingers on and off that line and dagenais has been working as hard as anybody.  i haven't been at any of the practices but whenever rds shows clips he's working hard there too.

anyway, that's how i feel and like i have said on an earlier post, i believe dagenais will score an awful lot of goals in this league and i would prefer them to be for les habitants.  same goes for ribeiro.

I have to admire your nerve for posting this. Keep your head down. The "lets dump Dagenais" mob will soon tell you why you are deluded and a threat to the Habs.

You can't. The station broadcasting the game collects the audio and then replays choice sound bites at various points during the game. They do this to ensure that nothing is heard which should have been bleeped.

Murray scored first two goals and was chosen first star. But he left halfway through the 2nd period and didn't return. Looked like it might have been a pulled groin.
