Habs77
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=50...149&hubName=nhl 8/10/2003The Boston Globe reports that veteran defenceman Bryan Berard accepted the Bruins' offer of $2.51 million for the 2003-2004 season in a brief arbitration hearing Friday in Toronto, but general manager Mike O'Connell told the paper it's highly likely the club will not accept that price and instead risk losing him as an unrestricted free agent. He's no use to us because we already have enough puck moving LDs (Markov, Hainsey, Dykhuis). If he would have been a RD, would have been a great replacement for Brisebois... if Breezer were to be dealt of course.
Habby1197
He's worth 2.5 million... not much more but thats a fair offer. Bruins are cheap as dirt.
ch_nl
Veteran? I could see Berard fit in Montreal. Just like Ace Venture would have said: Like a glove.
