  1. Given a choice, I would sign Sergei. I am think he's the better all around player. And younger. Not saying I want him
  2. Are you Slack from HIO?. He has the same schtick, patrolling the site for any kind of negative posts about MB or MT. You're busted, lol.
  3. I will not apologize for the 86 cup team that kicked ass all year long. I loved the Nilan era almost as much as the Lafleur era. ( not as much). Bruins are still physically intimidating. I wouldn't Pat ourselves in the back for diamanting them. Chiarelli did that
  4. He's 20/21. Ton of talent there. Devil's advocate: I thought AK 46 was top 15 talent back in 09.
  5. He's played LW and def. I don't know think he's as bad as you say. He plays decent defensive positional hockey and obviously serves a purpose. He's played on some good organizations. No offense skills, but a few Habs don't either
  6. I suspect Galch won't sign for that small amount. Bridge or not,he's not taking DD or Eller $. He's our future star
  7. Smurfs or not you can't argue that we're the softest team in the league, constantly pushed around. Our than Scherback and Mccarron, our top forward prospects are Hudon,Andi,Reway,Lekhonen. Add Thomas and Bournival and that's small. Even Carr at 6' is around 175. Where's the beef ? Ooh a name caller. Cool
  8. I think that the level of satisfaction could definitely be broken down by age. Younger fans (30/ under) are much happier than 40+, based on what is a success. Both sides have the right and good reasons for their opinions. And the 40+ do understand about cap, # of teams etc. And there are exceptions. As for entertaining: its an NHL thing,we will never see the run and gun, intense hockey of the 80's
  9. I consider Flynn a smurf. There is no magic height.5'11 vs 6'. Under 6' isn't smurf when it was the Cube, who would be tougher than anyone on this team and was one of leagues toughest pound for pound.
  10. Everyone saw Habs finish first. I didn't read about any suspension or Federal investigation about Pens throwing a game.Revisionist history to fit your argument? Bruins pounded us,and Philly pounded us because of the yearly softness issue. Why do you think BGL was signed. Why did we get to eliminated by Bost or Philly from 08-13. Size and toughness which we lackedOttawa,Chicago,Tampa,Dallas, Isles,Caps Winnepeg are pretty entertaining. You only mentioned the one team of those that didn't make playoffs
  11. wtf happy if they missed playoffs?.Seriously?
  12. 23 years isn't impatient, lol. Max is all-star calibre.MB has nothing, zero,Nada to do with this core. AG is his only offensive contribution, and was a no brainer
  13. Vermette as a UFA ,only if DD got moved. Having both doesn't do much.
  14. We'll disagree then. We had a real top 9 then. We don't have a top 6 now.(DD,Weise,and/or Kassian?) BG only deadline move that year was trading our #1 goalie, Huet, for a 2 nd rder and riding a rookie goalie . As for the last 3 "successful"seasons . Division titles and boring hockey doesn't interest me. Anything short of conf final is not a success. Not in Montreal anyway
  15. I've read so many posts regarding how good our prospects are, even post how Scherback should have been in the playoff lineup,AHL team languishing near the basement every year is not a good sign. It was also a comparison to our 08 team's youth and prospects
  16. Well look at the return on every Stewart trade. Now look at what Kassian was worth. Same as PAP last year, an addition by subtraction for Nucks
  17. Why did we have to dump Prusts salary? He was worth the 2.5 for one year.Especially since most of that went to the soft, useless 4th line crap we got from Buff
  18. Don,not a Leafs fan. You are one of the aggressive attack dogs that chase good posters away from this site. Very juvenile, tacky and droll response to people who don't agree with you. Grow up ,we all like the Habs have different opinions of what we want and how to get there. Regular season success doesn't interest me anymore, especially with boring games. How do you feel about raising division flags?
  19. I would have rather taken a shot with Stewart on a 1 yr deal. I actually would have rather acquired Stewart than Kassian, without having to give anyone up. Anaheim is a very smart organization.
  20. I would say last year's Price's historic led season was a bigger mirage. Kovy had 84 pts,SK/AK were pre bums,Higgins 28 goals,Koivu younger Pleks etc. They were very entertaining,(unlike last yr)talented and had a great future. BG/PG screwed it up.We have no better prospects than any other team
  21. Agree 100%, but at least RB showed up in playoffs
  22. During 07-08 we were first in the east, but the decades old refusal to get bigger/tougher cost us a shot at the cup. First in the east with PK,Pacs,McDonough as prospects,Price a rookie and many good young players. It's folly imo to compare this team to that one. And our "blue chippers" to the ones then.
  23. It is ridiculous to compare last year to the 11-12 disaster. The previous years were similar to now. We are a Price injury and maybe one or two more from a similar fate. There have been many, many good offensive players moved the last 2-3 years. It doesn't cost a CP. Don't buy the snake oil.
  24. $7m for DD/Eller,$2m for Buff garbage aka Flynn/Mitchell.There's your $9m savings
