  1. 90-100 points. Will be a 4 or 5 seed in the playoffs. Then due to the team's speed, the habs will shock some people in the playoffs. I dont see a stanley cup this year due to the team is still a little to young. But next year is the year to dominate because of the cba, teams cant hold big money players easily. Teams like Ottawa and Vancouver have to win this year because next year I doubt they can keep some of their stars. Thats why I like the habs to challenge for the cup next year. But this year I wouldnt be all surprised to see the team end up in the eastern finals.

  2. I think the only part of canada cherry represents is the prairies. Anyway a great guy they could replace him with would be a Barry Melrose type. I have always liked Barry and he's got nothing to do now that espn doesnt have hockey. He's a smart hockey man, and he represents the prairies with the mullet.

  3. i see that... but the logical next step is to point out that SRC, which is the french equivilant to CBC, is a bit Montreal biased as well... although both SRC and RDS habe some degree of love for OTT...

I think the love for ottawa has to do with Gatineau and western quebec being senator fans. On Cherry, he is an idiot, remember they used to put a delay on the broadcast, not for player obscenties but because they didnt know what the heck was going to come out of Cherry's mouth. CBC just needs an overhaul on their broadcast when Cherry gets fired or dies or retires. They need more professionalism in the broadcast. They need to find the bob costas and howard cossell of hockey. There out their somewhere. My local teams broadcast team for example has bernie federko on it he's pretty good but not ready for primetime. But anyway I think the next people they put into the booth should not try to be don cherry copy cats. And for godsakes learn the names of the teams players. When I want to watch a hockey night in canada game I want to see a professional broadcast not something produced by high schoolers.

  4. I dont buy that argument that it hinders playing ability. Forsberg and Jagr where visors and it has not effected them. AND university of montreal did a study and came to the conclusion that the modern visor does not hinder play. Another thing is that kids these days play in full masked visors and last time I looked they really didnt have any problems. But as I said before it takes a legend to be killed by a puck to cause change. And goonism has nothing to do with a puck hitting you in the face. Another example is that the machoism still exisits in this sport aka Don Cherry. For another example is that ww1 fighter pilots would not where parachutes because it was being a sissy. The same thing happend when baseball players started wearing helmets and when Jacques Plante did his best jason impersonation.

  5. When are they going to adapt this? Is it going to take someone to die by getting hit by a puck for the Don Cherry's of the world to come to their senses? I'm sad to say I think that will be the case. Look how long it took them to put a safety net behind the glass, it only happend because a poor little girl on her birthday had to die. And its got to be a star player, my example of this is nascar. Nascar refused to have mandatory head and neck restraints because the drivers said they could not see (kind of like the excuse the players give today). But what happend, a legend who was adamently aposed to these devices had to die for nascar people realised that the safety device saved lives. So who has to die for the NHL comes to their senses about visors.:?-

  6. I still think the NHL screwed up by not taking the espn option but to the defence of the NHL Espn never really cared much for the league. I mean NHL 2night aired at 1am in the morning and never was on espn always on espn2.
