  1. Luongo is not letting a goal go by now. This is the worst
  2. Who was watching the Habs Halloween dress up party? These guys look like they have a pretty good time off the ice too
  3. This discussion is giving bad vibrations, but Gainey and Julian did put Ivanans in the line up until he got hurt. I don't think he should be at every game and Dags or whoever they choose not to dress when Ivanans is needed will still dress most of the time. We need a goon for Ottawa, Toronto, Boston, Philly and probably Carolina. When those teams drop their Belaks, McGrattons, Brashears, Orrs we won't need goons. As long as they have them so do we. We don't want to turn Komi or Souray into a default goon. And the only time we beat Ottawa this year in pre-season was when Ivanans went two rounds with McGratton for the draw. We beat Toronto too when he was there and not when he wasn't. These things seem small but they affect they way the whole team plays. No pro will admit to being intimidated but of course they are when they're up against goons with no one to protect them. Philly won consecutive cups on the idea.
  4. I was guilty of being a Sundstrum basher until I watched the Pre-season game that we beat Ottawa 6-3. I watched Sundstrum all night and he made almost all the best defensive plays. Since then I've only seen the good in him and wouldn't dare lose him. I've always defended Rivet for his heart and role off the ice though. Also for beating the crap out of Marchment. Not to say there weren't times he pissed me off. [Edited on 2005/11/1 by Lister110]
  5. woops happened so fast, thought it was Zednik, still a beaut pass
  6. What a goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Way to go Zednik, hot wife! Have I missed much. How are we doing? Its 0-0 what should it be?
  8. First these Power Rankings mean nothing because even if they are true the way we have so many divisional games means that power teams will not all make the playoffs anyway. And isn't that the point This Cullen is so full of shit. He claims to not look at special considerations, like how the teams actually play(?), but makes them on account of Toronto running up the score against Atlanta. The only stats he's using from the looks of it are goals scored. Thats why the return of Thorton is weighed so heavily. He considers Boynton not being in the line up and forgets Zednik. Plain and short this guys way of collecting stats is arbitrary and aimed to deny Montreal recognition while boosting Toronto and Boston. This is TSN's target audience and this is who he sells to. One might easily ask why PPK's, goaltending, shots on net are not included in his stats. above all games won and in Montreal's case without overtime or the loser point in overtime which Toronto likes so well. 9. Thats some good writing! ------------------------------------------- From another post: As far as hockey insights and being a good habs fan are concerned, I don't see the two entirely related. I mean you should know some of the players names if not all of them and have a general understanding of the game, but even these aren't pre-requisites. I know there are people on this board that know more than I do about the Habs and hockey and I don't consider myself less of a fan (the money I spent that I didn't have during the Tampa series on going to a game and Habs peraphenalia is some proof of that...geesh!). Some of the most die hard fans I've met know nothing about the game, only that they love the team they cheer for. I'm sure there will always be someone that knows more and that shouldn't make you any less of a fan in their company. If that was true the only "true fans" would be the sports analysts and pro's. Pretty sad state of affairs. One of the greatest things about hockey or sports is the way it brings so many different people together. Lets try and respect difference of opinion here, for the good of Les Habitants :/)
