*** IF *** this is true, it explains his absence ... but why not just announce it? ... trying to avoid the "official" concussion protocol? ... conspiracy theorists want to know.
The possibility of it being concussion-related raises the question of when that occurred ... he played all 82 games this season ... was there an incident in the final game vs TBL? ... since then?

With Guhle eligible to sign an extension come July 1st, the Habs should be so lucky ...
NOTE: For some reason the bottom of the Twitter post is cut-off ... 6 yrs @ $4.6M AAV -

you are right, I was surprised by that one but the kid is really good.
The names on @GHT120 's list had too many old names, and I woul dbe surprised Koivu JR is favoured by this management team.
But those names had nothing to do with "sentimentalism towards the history of the franchise or are any interest in dipping into nepotism" ... nor did I ever suggest that Koivu Jr would or should in any way be favoured by HuGo et al ... he had been described as "81st, so a NHL long shot depth player" and the names were just intended to point out that picks in the early-80s have panned out in the past and that is why teams still draft instead of just passing.

As broken down earlier in another post, I wouldn’t do CC for Zegras.
...
Moving to rest of proposal ...
NOBODY would do CC for Zegras (I hope) ... but THAT is not what is proposed ... it is a single, multi-facetted proposal ... it involves giving up the current best NHLer, a D with potential but possible defensive concerns and a late first rounder for a highly skilled NHLer (who HuGo would have to in part assess in terms of what MSL could do with him, as he has done with CC) and a guaranteed TOP 5 pick in a top-end, deep draft.
*** NOT *** suggesting anyone has to like the deal in its entirety or support making it ... but it has to be considered in its entirety ... broken down (as some have done) Montreal would never do the NHLer-for-NHLer aspect and Anaheim would never do the "futures" part ... but as an entirety it is I-M-O a fair proposal that both sides would have to consider.

I'm really not keen on giving up Caufield (with better growth prospects and better attitude) for Zegras.
Whether or not it is a good idea ... it is a "little bit" more than Caufield for Zegras.

Not sure what rumour was about this, but basically Zegras for Caufield? Why?
Dont think adding more draft picks is Hughes big focus, more young NHL-ready kids maybe.
Hardly Zegras for Caufield ... a guaranteed "Top 5" pick in a top-end, deep draft is a little better than "more draft picks".

Do they still keep Willie out?
Do you believe that TO has chosen not to play Nylander or that he has been physically unable to play?

I think a deal like this could come back to haunt us like the Leclair/Desjardins deal did.
If a "big" trade proposal doesn't have a reasonable potential to come back and haunt you then it isn't anywhere near a reasonable trade proposal.
-

I would NEVER even CONSIDER that. That is a massive overpayment, when Caufield may end up being the better player.
Depends on how HuGo evaluate all the pieces of the proposed trade ... you don't get a guaranteed Top 5 pick and a former 9th overall pick without giving up someone/thing that ***MAY*** end up being a better player than what you receive ... it is the nature of a big trade.

I think that ship is parked on the marketing department and away from hockey decision.
I agree with what you said, but in no way understand how it related to my post ... I just looked up the most familiar names with the most games played at each draft position.

Mailloux for?
Mailloux, CC and Winnipeg's first for Zegras and Ducks #1 ... as an opening offer

They have him at 81st, so a NHL long shot depth player am assuming.
81. Aatos Koivu, C — TPS (U20 SM-Sarja)
Anni Karvinen – Aatos Koivu is a strong-skating center that has had a steep development curve during the season. He is physically quite raw which partly explains why he flew under the radar for so long. Koivu possesses a plus tool in his shot that he likes to fire frequently, especially from the half-wall. He also has a quite good hockey sense especially in the offensive zone where he is good at
making himself available as an option to pass the puck to. He can play responsible two-way hockey and he’s already developed some mature habits like good scanning.Longer shot for certain ... but Alexei Zhitnik, Joe Juneau and Steve Kasper were 81st overall picks ... Brian Gionta and Adam Henrique were 82nd ... and Matthew Barnaby and Matt Murray were 83rd overall picks ... so, there is always HOPE.

That makes perfect sense as almost all of their good young defensemen and forwards shoot left. They would be less likely to draft a guy like Lindstrom and more likely to draft a Levshunov.
Believe it was also referring to trade targets.

An important factor to take into account when considering any trade proposals involving Anaheim
In terms of the draft ... Leshunov, Helenius or Parekh might fit the bill ... unless he means players already in the NHL.

Canucks or Jets cup win would be great, to see either of them get a 1st cup... If not Go Oilers!
I have to admit ... I am in the "Habs should be the next Canadian team to win the Cup" camp ... it isn't in any way logical ... but being a fan generally isn't.

The craziest rumour I have seen in a long time. I would be embarrassed to go to LA with a proposal like that. Might have to top it up with a 4th round pick. LOL
Obviously some crazy, delusional Hab fan came up with this.
Wouldn't it have to be the "traditional" 2nd round pick?
I don't listen to BPM, so no idea where the suggestion came from.
But I "enjoyed" it. -
A "rumour" so crazy even Tony Marinaro can see it:
Gallagher and Anderson for PLDI might at least think about it for a second ... before saying NO.

I know that I’m in the minority here but I think Kovacevic is far ahead of Barron.
Kovasevic is pushing the boundaries of second pairing (he can’t handle it yet).
Barron is pushing the boundaries of #7 Dman
IMO
Not certain I agree that Kovacevic is "pushing the boundaries of second pairing" ... but I agree he is a better 6/7 option than Barron ... he is I-M-O far superior defensively and THAT is what I look for in a 6/7 defenceman ... he also brings an element of physicality ... but we all have our favourites ... "Potato Head" is an unabashed Barron fan.

Im not sure that Barron has a NHL career, I think he is on the borderline.
But, perhaps better to allow Mailloux to "fully bake" in the AHL and put up with Barron in the short -term ... for the start of next season, it isn't a question of picking who will be the better player in 2-3-4 years but where each player is best placed for the benefit of the Habs in 2-3-4 years.

For Stamkos I'm thinking he could be the offense version of David Savard along with a ton of playoff success (been there, got the t-shirt) for when Montreal makes the playoffs next year.
For Utah, most of the Montreal D are an immediate upgrade over anyone on their roster. I'm thinking the Price dead money would be better spent on a serious offer to Guentzal.
I think we all understood what you wanted to do ... the question isn't why the Habs might want Stamkos or Guentzal ... it is why would they want to join a team that is still in a rebuild, that may or may not challenge for a wildcard next season (especially Stamkos, who turns 35-yrs-old on July 2nd, so better sign him July 1st) ... and ... why would Utah want to lock themselves into the absolute lack of salary cap flexibility that comes with going into LTIR, and spend the extra $15M in real money over the next two seasons ... I expect they will be spending their $43M in cap space to try to make a BIG move up the standings next season.

Didn't see this coming ... but he was the last coach (14 seasons ago) to get them to the playoffs.
