Not sure why Flyers keep tossing it the length of the ice ... empty net isn't worth the risk

That's only half the story. A good number of Habs have played like crap too.
Always the challenge for we fans to apportion blame for a poor effort ... we focus so much on our own team ... as is natural ... but agree, it is not entirely Philly ... but not certain it is 50/50

Gallagher coughing it up in the Philly end with a blind pass to a Flyer...jesus he's been useless in this game.
He hasn't looked like his usual self since some point in the Pittsburgh series.

This has been a shameful effort. Sloppy passes, halfhearted forecheck more often than not....I'm pissed.
TVA guys were noting that much of the credit has to go to the Flyers upping their game from Friday and not letting the Habs free wheel as much

Muller needs to lose it in the room...wake some guys up. They are pissing this game away.

Just occurred to me ... as I thought that Price must be getting fed up of almost always (last game a rare exception) having to pitch a shutout, or limit them to one, to have a chance to win ... Price "losing it" would certainly get their attention ... of course his "losing it" would probably be stern but not a yell.

I know that. But the comment was not about where the refs
are
from but about how they called the game
Think there was just a miscommunication ... seems you accidentally typed coaches instead of refs ... hence my confusion ...

I do not know which game they were referring to, but seemed like it was a game where reading was biased against the Habs

Flyers have three coaches from Quebec/QMJHL (Vigneault, Therrien, Lapierre)... Habs have two (Waite and Ducharme)

Interesting that Philly is dumping the puck to our right side over and over. Most teams have success at dumping to our left side.
Surprised they are dumping it along the boards, or at least so firmly along the boards ... Price is often playing it before the forecheck gets there ... hope thbey don't figuire it out

I have NEVER liked the idea that a whack to the face is only two minutes if there is no blood but a tap is four minutes if there is blood ... the penalty should be based on the action not the result ... using the result just makes it a spin of the penalty wheel.

Evans is 24
Poehling is 21
There is the difference.
Evans is just further along in his development and is ready to play a role in the NHL. Poehling may have been drafted higher, but he hasn't had the same development time (he skipped JrA hockey to go to college early, still spent less time in College than Evans, has one less year of pro experience). It all matters. In time, Poehling will get there, but his one year of pro shows he needs more development.
Totally agree ... think the biggest question mark is in what role ...

Don't like this one bit ... I agree he has likely lost his teammates ... but if he shows up at training camp the BBs are on the hook for $7 million next season, unless the can trade him or buy him out (cap hit of just shy of $2.67M and $2.17M for 20/21 and 21/22) ... is he likely to walk away from that money? ...

He may have just decided that he’s had enough of this; I think he has earned over $50M to date so he could decide that it’s enough, and he’d rather spend his time with his wife and kids.I hadn't seen Rask's statement and the interview with Sweeney (my subsequent post) and they shed a different light on things ...

Something different worked and him playing 4:00 PP time is huge change, over the 0:04/game of reg season.
Julien just wasnt a fan i guess.
And you apparently are a HUGE fan ... time will tell if Mete remains a productive PP contributor

It is almost always the key to having a good game.

Mete had 2 ppa's & played 4:04 on the PP yesterday, he had played 3:20 on the PP in total this reg season.
So is Mete on the PP suddenly the solution? Doubt it ... the first assist was a good pass to the wide-open Tartar for his second goal ... but the other was just a neutral zone head-manning of the puck
Friday was a hustle-won and well-deserved "downhill game" .... meaning that the Habs earned control of that game through their hard work, but it became a proverbial game of the ice being tilted downhill for the Habs ... almost everything went right

Jack Edwards at his finest - after Andrei Svechnikov suffers what looks to be a serious ankle injury (and knee perhaps), while most are talking about hoping he's okay, Edwards posts this instead:
That is neanderthal "the skirt she wore was too short so she got what was coming to her" thinking ... but hardly surprising from Edwards ... although, in fairness ... not certain there was any intent to inure or disregard for the kid's safety ... just an unfortunate play

Which is true if everyone stays where they are and the PK box is withdrawn taking away lanes with there sticks. But the moment the PK is activated like say Pitt series and players have to move which is ideal, then all is lost.
Which is why I only linked the "handedness" of QB and the Bomber as being important ... not saying movement is not integral to a good PP, it is ... but the QB will spend most of his PP TOI along the blueline and the Bomber at the blueline or down the side "opposite" of his shot ... once either of those leave their "usual" spots then all that matters is for all players positioning themselves to be able to take a good shot or make a good pass ... or screen the goalie ... but why not at least optimize one pair of players.

Remember, they've tried the 4 one hand, 1 the other hand before and the success has been iffy which is why they haven't stuck with it for long. I took a look at the best combos during the regular season on the power play - Weber with Petry had a bit of a success and probably was worth a longer look but their most successful units were two lefty forwards and two righties.
The Habs really don't have a defenceman other than Weber and Petry who belongs on the PP
IMO the leftie/righty issue is important for how the traditional QB and the Bomber interact ... a RH shot QB on the right/middle point can position themselves to pass to a RH-Bomber on the left point/sidewall while still being able to shoot or pass elsewhere without twisting his body or moving his feet to do so ... (reverse for LH shots) ... but for other players it is somewhat less so, the correct players are IMO more important than how they shoot ... Habs just are short of ideal PP guys.

Maybe not as much of an issue as we might think ... may provide context for his previous post-game statements ... BTW, newborn is about 3 months old

Hudon had a fine rookie season.
Fine seems a bit much ... but whatever descriptor one uses, Hudon has "earned" less TOI, and fewer games, each season since ... on a team short of pure offensive skill

Gardiner missed 14 games and played 3rd pairing minutes ... so don't think it is a surprise ... reportedly he didn't consider Habs because of the pressure of playing in Montreal ... maybe that should have been a clue for the Canes ... hard to count on and expect much from players looking for the easy route.

Agreed
No ... but I think you were being tongue-in-cheek.
I agree ... Nick is fifth generation Canadian and one quarter Japanese by heritage ... but nature abhors a vacuum ... and fans have yet to settle on a nickname (undoubtedly Habs use something "original" like Suuks)
