  1. Oh thanks, yeah I suppose they asked the sky the moon and universe from Gainey, meanwhile the Blues got 3 high draft choices and a mediocre player for a hasbeen like Thachuck. However Im sure Gainey would have been forced to give up Carey Price Kotsi Plekanek and higgins for the same draft choices???? Guerin a near 40 years old player was able to garner very close but Im sure Gainey would have had to give up the farm to get the same players??? As for Souray, we can always sign him for 5 million a year and also sign markov for 5 million a year and sign Bonk for 3 million a year and Johnson for 2.5 million a year????? As for your sarcasm a bozo like you should open a site called sarcastic bozo.com
  2. What really bothers me is that Begin took a selfish stupid penalty that changed the game. What did carbo do about it? Begin did not miss a shift. In fact he replaced some players who Carbo decided to bench. That's sending a message to the team Carbo??? Another thing that Dandenault sure has a scary shot, scary in how weak it it is.
  3. I totally agree, it's over for this year. On the bright side I really like what I have seen in Perez and Kotsi the last few games. Both of them have shown they can beat a man one on one. They both have shown really good speed. However, where did they learn how to shoot. Perez almost always misses the net by a few feet and Kotsi after deking out three players tends to flip it into the goalie's pads. I think we do have some exciting forwards in these 2, add to the group Plekanec and Higgins and even Ryder is still young we have a good young nucleus. It would have been nice to have added some more young players by trading Souray. This will delay our development for sure.
  4. Funny stuff, but maybe it would have been Chris Higgins or Tomas Plekanec or Micheal Ryder or Mike Komisarek or
  5. I agree, not sure the habs needed Smyth this year though. I hope they sign him in the offseason
  6. Id say our chances of making the playoffs are 50/50- we have teams behind us that have games in hand. We have teams that have strengthened their team today for the stretch run. Do we need a rental player at this slim chance of making the playoffs? Will we go far with our goaltending??? I think we should have been a seller and sold not only Souray but a few others
  7. Dont you think its Gainey's job to know if someone is available??? Dont you think its Lowe's job to sell Smyth to the highest bidder in terms of talent??? You could be right
  8. This has nothing to do with a UFA- Souray could have brought in good young players and draft choices. If Souray resigns I agree there was some positive to this.
  9. Problem is Souray will likely go away next season
  10. You know I think your right- but why get rid of a young goalie that costs nothing?
  11. I don't care how Gainey deals with GMS or what happens , all I see are the results. Gainey got us a leftover free agent in Samsonov last year and he got us a great trade for Rivet, but he could have done better in terms of trading other players. If we lose Souray during the summer and if the Habs do nothing in the postseason I think Gainey will have to be held accountable.
  12. I almost feel Leighton is a slap in the face for the fans of Montreal. Though I think Gainey did it cause the Flyers didn't return his calls re Forsberg
  13. I think Ryan Smyth is exactly the player the Habs needed if not for this year but for the next few years. Okay he is 31 but he still has legs. He likes to stand in front of the net, unlike everyone else on the team. He scores a lot of goals on the powerplay. Hope the habs sign him next year. Anyways as for Gainey stand pat attitude, I can't believe we couldn't get anything for Souray of substance. I still doubt the Habs will make the playoffs and if they do with the goalies we have we are going nowhere fast. I could be wrong. I don't know if Souray has told the club he will remain. Anyways
  14. Another Eklund posting Souray to Anaheim "Growing Possibility Tonight" That according to a few sources. One Duck's source said to me the rumored deal was Souray for Ryan Shannon, Kent Huskins, Fourth Round pick. I have also heard that Bryzgalov could be involved in the deal. I have also heard the first round pick that came from Tampa tonight is "a necessity." Gotta love the west coast rumors….sleep is for the weak…
  15. No Im sure your over 12 but your mentality is underage no doubt about it, and I was old enough to see Beliveau score in 1965 to win the cup. Im sure Ive seen more hockey and probably more art then you will in your lifetime- finally one final thing you seem desperate to ask other people for their opinion -apparently you need other people's approval sounds like a real inferiority complex finally one sharp marble
  16. Sign him or trade him by tomorrow simple
  17. Bill Guerin no way, no more old folks, Kovy looks old and he is 5 years younger then Guerin, I think Atlanta and Nashville were foolish for getting the over the hill gang- Atlanta's GM is desperate to make the playoffs, if they dont he is gone.
  18. I think if the Habs lose on Monday it will be very hard for them to make the playoffs with all those games in hand the Leafs and islanders have. If they lose I see Souray traded and in this market its gonna be for some great drafts and young players. I think if a team could afford Kovy they may take him as well.
  19. on second reflection it looks like Gainey is about to rebuild- I wonder now if the Habs lose Monday he cleans house gets at least 2 first rounders and young players for Souray and maybe Kovy is sent packing for another first rounder and young players?
  20. The only thing I wonder about is Gorges was never drafted
  21. The only thing though is the way Carbo has treated Kovy and Sammy this year. Markov I think likes to be among his fellow nationals. Carbo has been on Sammy's back from the beginning of the year and Kovy seems to be on the outs now. Maybe Carbo may be a sore point for Markov. Anyways I didn't know about him becoming a canadian citizen but didn't Oleg Petrov become a canadian citizen right before he was traded.
