  1. Happy 100th boys. A special hockey prayer to the CH ghosts tonight... may they guide our warriors to victory tonight, on this most special of nights. :hlogo: :hlogo: :hlogo:
  2. Sigh... the guys really snatched defeat from the jaws of victory tonight. Oh well... a point's a point.
  3. As a person, i'm a big fan of BGL. I've met him, he's a great guy. As a player, there's room for improvement, let's just say... I'll be the optimist of the thread and hope that: 1. He returns from his suspension fired up and ready to play well 2. He plays well 3. He plays really well Stranger things have happened... i for one am hoping my prediction plays out!
  4. Poor Gui.. would have loved to have him score the SO winner Rodney - stopped!
  5. Whew... got a point. Let's get that second one now and get one step closer towards .500
  6. What does that have to do with anything? Obviously the official name is "Le Club de Hockey Canadien", and "le Canadien" and "les Canadiens" are technically nicknames... but that's all beside the point. "Canadien" in the official name is still an adjective, and as an adjective, the correct term should be "Les Canadiens". I'm not knockin' ya for using "Le Canadien", KoZed Free society, yall can use the terms you like. I just prefer the grammatically correct "Les Canadiens" which is also the official name used by the hockey club itself. (See : canadiens.com)
  7. Canadien is an adjective, so the correct usage should be "Les Canadiens". Actually the CH itself uses "Les Canadiens" (just look at the official web site). By your logic, the Pittsburgh Penguins ought to be called "Le Penguin", the Anaheim Ducks "Le Duck", Boston Bruins "Le Bruin", etc. Les Canadiens de Montreal Les Bruins de Boston Etc.
  8. These are tough times to be fans of the CH... nevertheless i keep the faith. Just a matter of time before #25 comes along! GO HABS GO! On a side note, i'd like to rant about how RDS and Journal de Montreal refer to the Canadiens as "Le Canadien". C'est pas "le Canadien", c'est bien "Les Canadiens". Il y en a plus qu'un! It just seems grammatically incorrect. "Club de hockey Canadien" = Canadien is an adjective. Therefore a member of the team is a Canadien and several members (aka the whole team) are "The Canadiens" or "Les Canadiens". Pet peeve! Désolé
  9. A game to forget, but it happens. We're still at .500... for a new team, without its best player, still learning to play together and develop chemistry, it ain't too bad at all. Lets have a beer to wash out the bad taste this game left in our mouths and get the job done in Chicago. :hlogo: :hlogo: :hlogo:
  10. Halfway through the game and 1-0 Habs, outshooting 16-15.
  11. I don't want to digress from the SK discussion, but adding on to the Canadiens' performance thus far: .500 after 10 games, for a totally redesigned team, that has yet to fully build up chemistry and cohesiveness, is not too shabby at all.
  12. I'm starting to really feel attachement for this new squad of Habs players. It took some time, but the new team is growing on me. I feel like they're proving that they're true Habs now. Not because they've won a few games, but simply because they're really trying. Putting in some decent effort. They're not winning every game, but they're trying. I respect that. (Well, there are exceptions.. AK46 seems to be asleep, but i digress) :hlogo:
  13. For a small guy Gionta can sure as hell skate... I think Cammalleri is due for a pair next game. Exciting game to watch but it could/should have been 5-1 had it not been for an outstanding goalie and some pucks hitting the irons.
  14. I want to see the CH stand atop a reasonable .500 at the end of their first 10 games. 2-5-0 so far, that means we must win our next 3. Come on guys.. get it together. Sure, luck hasn't been on our side lately, but champions make their own luck. Time to make some luck! 5-2 CH. Cammy gets a pair. :hlogo: :hlogo: :hlogo:
  15. At least the effort was there. Some players need to step up... .400 after the first 5 games is not the end of the world, considering the team is new, the chemistry hasn't installed yet, etc. That being said... i expect a win at home next game. :hlogo:
  16. Wow, this game thread is really quiet... 1st period Habs were in control, they outplayed the Oilers.. an unfortunate goal put the Oil up 1-0 when the CH deserved to have the lead 2nd period Our guys looked slow, confused, awkward and nervous. So did the Oilers! They were just able to capitalize... That sudden burst in the last few minutes was impressive. Gionta ripped a good one, and the play in their zone nearly led to a second goal. If nothing else, this shows that our offense has talent and skill, they just need a bit of a spark and some momentum. 3-1 after 2 is not insurmountable... here's hoping we come home with .600! :hlogo: :hlogo:
  17. Pacioretty, chipchura, i just get the impression that none of our prospects have progressed... at all. Pretty bad 7-1 loss tonight, but keeping things in perspective, I'll be pleased if we can manage to come home with .600
  18. You all mess me up when you say CC! People call me CC as well on other forums
  19. That was an impressive goal. Took some mighty quick reflexes to catch that one and pop it in like that. GO HABS GO! We clearly have things we need to improve and work on, but we can at least bring the hustle to every game, we'll win plenty while we continue to iron out the rough spots!
  20. Hey hey hey how's the game? I'm going to watch the third (couldn't watch the 1st or 2nd) I don't know how they played in the 1st or 2nd, but they better give a good show in the 3rd ;) I like how Moen has 2 goals in 2 games. I had very low expectations for him, but so far, he's giving us great bang for our buck!
  21. Grabovski 2.0 I always felt Sergei was a little childish. This just proves it.
