SI.com - Best uniforms in N.America - Habs #1
Cataclaw replied to Cataclaw's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
Umm, I fail to see what's so great about the Italian uniform. It's blue. With some white. ... Nothing even remotely distinctive about that uniform. Heck, my soccer uniform when i was a kid looked exactly the same. What's the big deal? -
Rivet will resign for under a million, Abby and Niinimaa will both be sent packing, Markov and Souray will stay. Both will ask for and get raises, but they won't be exorbitant. Mark my words.

I think the second line is doing much better than it was a while back. While it's still not up to our expectations, i think they're getting by "just barely" to avoid significant line changes for now. I don't expect anything major to happen unless we start dropping games from now until Higgins' return.

Tucker is such a crybaby. It's always the same with this guy. He cheap-shots someone, then is scared to face the music. I remember when he clipped Kovalev in the face, and was all surprised that Kovalev steamrolled him moments later. Gosh!

KoZed: Heh, alright. I guess i'm just not like that. Around here if a player has a good game, we shower him with adulation, if he has one bad game, it's "TRADE TRADE TRADE!" I just can't be like that, i guess i always try to look at the big picture, the long term, etc. Truth be told however, even the "big picture" and the "long term" for Rivet isn't all that good at the moment. I remember that breakaway goal he had coming out of the box in some game earlier in the season, but that play and a few other good defensive moves are about all i can remember from him. I wonder if he's just starting to get tired/old. He needs to step up, so does Kovalev... -

I agree, hell, you're absolutely right, he hasn't been contributing enough, but that's no reason to disrespect him. I guess you're entitled to your opinion... but although there are some Habs players i dislike (and some in the past that i've hated totally), i respect them all for wearing that jersey. Something you apparently do not. -

All this hate on Rivet is sickening. Sure he's less than perfect sometimes, but i would think all the years he's contributed to the team would have earned him a bit more respect than this. You guys are mocking him outright. For shame. Kovalev needs to take a break or something. He seems to be lacking confidence and hardly playing up to his potential. Thank goodness for Huet, Koivu, etc. I hate giving the leafs a point, but at least we're ahead of the leafs by 2 with 3 games in hand! GHG -

Wow i'm speechless. Koivu... incredible. When things are going bad, the captain is more often than not the one who steps up and leads the team to victory, and here he's done it again. I hope i live to see his number raised high above the bell center one day. -

Carbonneau wouldn't be the only one. I'm growing increasingly impatient with Alex. I'm a fan, i love the team, i like all the players, (even Rivet, KoZed), but my patience has limits. For once i'd like to see the Habs beat a team 6-0. With Montreal it's always "down to the wire". Sigh. I'm going to go punch a wall or something, relieve some of this frustration. -

Thanks for confirming that, KoZed. I'm royally pissed off at the moment. Kovalev has a way of infuriating me sometimes. I wish he'd channel his anger into his scoring ability instead of wasting on some referee verbal abuse. God damnit. -

I heard a 2 minute conduct penalty for having said something to the refs after the hooking call. Sigh. KOVALEV WAKE THE FARK UP! START PLAYING TO YOUR FULL POTENTIAL! Kovalev is paradoxically the most frustrating and yet the most enjoyable player to watch. Sigh. -

Awful period. The RDS guys are right, worst 1st period of the season for the Habs. Only good from that 1st was watching Bouillon level that leafs player (forget who it was) and then get smashed by tucker, but he gets up, drops the gloves and pops Tucker one right to the nose. EAT IT, TUCKER THE MOTHER F*expletive* -

Toronto... Montreal... This game will be epic, as usual. Time for Kovalev to put another People's Elbow on Tucker. -

*BLIP* WELCOME TO THE FORUM, PRG *BLIP* Whoa, what just came over me? -
I tend to agree. Points don't always go hand in hand with raw skill. Sometimes line combinations/linemates, teamwork, luck and overall team ability can have more to do with your point total than your skill level.

1. Girls know when there's hockey playing, and they know all guys like to watch hockey, so i've noticed over the years they always conveniently try to schedule dates on hockey nights, to test you to see if you're more interested in the girl or the hockey. 2. My only pre-game ritual is blasting the HNIC theme at 100dB just before i watch the game. Also, if Habs win, i will always play "I feel good" really loud too. (Similarly to the Bell Center ritual) 3. I don't drink anything during games, it distracts me from the action. I'll drink before or after, but during the game i'm 100% glued to the screen following everything in detail. I won't even blink until the commercial breaks

He may take days off, he may be lazy sometimes, but there is no denying that Kovalev is the best stickhandler in the NHL.

I turned the TV off. 42 shots on Huet. I am not overly pleased. -
Hi Does anyone object (especially Spider-Man NL) to me doing the game threads on dec 21 and 23?

Spelling nazi to the rescue! Maneuver is the correct spelling. You can all go home now, the streets are safe once again! A *decent* second period by the Habs. The third period has been the strongest period for the Canadiens so far this season, here's to hoping for another strong third so we can seal the deal and bring 2 pts home. -

Hehe, poor dark_faerie87 How old are you? I used to be pretty thin too until i hit my early 20s, then I stopped growing "up" and started growing "out". By the way, welcome Pocket_Rocket_Girl! Haven't seen you here before. Is that you in the photo? Wow we got some good looking women on the forum
