  1. Start with Halak against the Rangers. If he looks sloppy at all, or lets in even one weak one, yank his ass before the game gets out of control and put in Huet. Assess Huet during the Ranger game, and the decision on who starts against TO is based on performance.

If Halak plays well, and gets the win, stick with him until he looks weak.

The decision doesn't appear to be that hard to me.

  2. I didn't search for the thread, but a few months ago, there was a thread about who would be the Habs' best player. I stated that Koivu would be their best player, because, He Is There Best Player. I'm just doing a little gloating. The fact is, when Koivu plays well, the Habs win. You can take any other player out of the picture, and we will do OK, but if Saku is out or not performing, the Habs lose. End of story.

  3. OK enought already. I haven't posted on this subject, because frankly I don't care, but Bobby and some others are whipping a dead freakin horse. Even if he did say that stuff about racism, get over it. At this point, the Habs are better with Kovy than without him. He scored two goals last night and that's all it takes for me. He's forgiven for what he did or did not say. Politics doesn't win hockey games. Goals do. If he plays he stays, if he doesn't he'll be down the road. End of story! Let's move on.

Bobby and other gossipers... all replies will be ignored by me. I would suggest others do the same.

  4. Ovechkin scores, while down by 4 goals and celebrates like he just won the cup. What a putz this guy is. Great player, but real moron when it comes to realizing that being down 4 and scoring one doesn't desearve a major celebration. Watch him after he scores, it is comical to say the least.

That's funny. It's true too. This guy is friggen obnoxious.

  5. Late reply, just got back to Toronto an hour ago...

Wow is all I can say, the Bell Centre is something else, the atmosphere there cannot possibly be compared to any other team in the NHL, especially against rivals like Toronto.

Every time i go to the ACC to see the habs (previous ones were losses, 5-1 and 4-1) i have to take the walk of shame back to the train and having all the leaf fans chirping the habs fans...Finally it's good to be the majority instead of the minority and every leaf fan got an earful in the halls after that one haha

Heading back to Montreal on the 31st to see them play the sabres...

    That city rocks

In your avatar, Kovy looks like a toothless old man.

  6. Looks like Kosti is here to stay. One of our top forwards lately. Dangerous with the puck, great speed, and has not shied away from the body. Hope he can continue his solid play. Definitely has a spot on the wing for years to come. Very excited about his future. Now he looks like he has the confidence.

I definitely take back what I said earlier in this thread. Kosty has earned a position on the top 2 lines. I was definitely wrong about that. I would still love to see Grabovski get called up too though. He's got serious freakin wheels.

  7. HALAK IT LIKE THAT!

The name of the place is HALAK IT LIKE THAT!

I could see that on a sign at the Bell centre soon.

My guess would be because Kovalev is the best Canadiens player in the shootout and he strikes fear in the opposing goalies. The choices tonight were perfect if you ask me.

Panthers score 2 empty netters 8-5.

I don't know man, I think Koivu is pretty friggen awesome at the shoot out too.

  8. Perezhogin scored on every single shootout in the pre-season. He lead the pre-season league in shootout goals.

Nice, so those goals help us how?

Perzhogin is good on the third line. He HAS been given lots of ice time. I realize that he has potential, but who would you send down to the third line so he could get a chance on the first? The first line has been getting points lately, even though Koivu is not at his best. Leave the first line alone.

  9. You can't play with an ear infection. It makes you completely dizzy and could actually be really dangerous. I'm glad Kosty will get a chance.

Ya but I say send him back down when Kovy comes back. I liked the team in St. Louis. They seemed more defensively responsible. The forecheck was great too. I would leave Murray in the line up. He has looked good out there grinding lately. Lapierre has impressed me most out of all the rookies this year. Can you say future Captain?

  10. Sounds like Craig Rivet at the beginning of his career...

    Pairings?

    Markov Komi

    Souray Gorges

    Bouillon Streit

    Dandenault...

I'd like to bump Bouillon and Dandenault out... get a big guy to play with Streit.

    Or maybe do as follows:

    Souray Dandenault

    Gorges Streit

That way we only have Cube on the bench.

I agree that Dandnault shoud go, but I love the Cube. I hope he finds the same form he had last year though.

  11. Perezhogin hasn't been used properly, I give him some slack there. And anyone who works hard on this team deserves to get on the first line simply because of the lack of hard working individuals on the team. They are both fast, probably the fastest on the team and if we want to get a player in the top 50 point leaders in the league we have to develop these talents with our best ie. koivu.

Putting these guys on the checking line or with other rookies isn't going to help their development.

Good point, but I still think Grabovski should play instead of Kosty.

  12. Yes, the top 2 lines are reserved for our "stars" like Koivu, Kovalev and Ryder......doesn't matter how lazy they are or that they don't want to dig in the corners etc. and hustle.....they play a regular shift.

Imagine the rookies sitting on the bench, knowing that they have to go out there HARD EVERY shift just to get another shift when other guys (KOVALEV, etc) can just float and stand in open ice waiting for teh puck, and when they don't get it sulk. BUT the difference they're out there for there next shift!

Thjese guys need a kick in the arse with a steel-toed boot to get them motivated/going!

You are right about that. The bottom line is that the only time these guys work hard is when Koivu plays well. I just don't think that watering down the line is the solution.
