  1. Lets just call it even and nobody gets suspended, I think both players have learned their lesson. I'm definitely willing to overlook the Holweg hit if it means Kovy not being suspended.
  2. I would have been a lot more confident going into Tuesdays game if we would have won today. But oh well its back to nail biting time. I just hope this team has the confidence to win a couple of games without kovalev, because more than likely he will at least not be in against ottawa on tuesday. Worst case the rest of the week.
  3. Tuesday and saturday, but now is as good a time as any, hopefully Alfie wont be back for another few games.
  4. Lol, fresh legs, I'd say rusty. Halak hasen't played in over a month, except for a period in relief if i'm not mistaken. But I can understand Carbo's decision to stick with huet since he was playing so well, although todays game definitely opens the door for Halak to get a start or 2.
  5. Yes it was unfortunate that koivu's penalty led to a goal, but to blame collapse on that 1 powerplay goal when we still had a 2 goal lead makes no sense. Kovy gave the puck away right after that, why isn't it his fault? What about the rangers first 2 goals? Huet should have had them both, why not blame him? No forward giving Markov a stick on the rangers 3rd goal. I'm saying I understand that the powerplay goal started the trickle before the dam broke. But had it been koivu who gave the puck away on the second goal I can just imagine some of the comments, but because it was kovy not a word was said. I try not to bash anyone on the team, because its comments like that from the fans and media, that make no player want to sign here in the offseason.
  6. We gotta bury one of these chances, Lundquist is starting to take over the game
  7. Only a fool dumps on a player he dislikes every chance he gets. Koivu has an assist in this game by the way, and has created multipe scoring chances. Why havent you been saying the same about kosty for taking the charging penalty, or komi for roughing. Or any other player who ever took a penalty in a game and we give up a powerplay goal. Honestly, the mindless Koivu bahing is getting a little old.
  8. It was more of a battle along the boards, Gomez should have gone for diving too. and if this team is so mentaly weak that they fall apart after one goal, then they have no business challenging for first in the conference.
  9. Here's hoping for another strong start. Line matching should be a little harder tonight, Carbo's gotta find a way to keep Markov and Komisarek on against AO's line all night (I cringe whenever he has the puck, such an explosive player).
  10. We gotta keep Markov and Komisarek on against Ovechkin at all times, and try to stay out of the box. If we can do that I don't think there is anything to worry about.
  11. Barry Melrose is picking the Habs and the Sharks to meet in the finals this year! http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=3218474 "Melrose: I had the New York Rangers and San Jose, but I think I am changing to Montreal and San Jose. The Sharks haven't been as dominant as I thought they would be, but they are still right there in the mix. The Canadiens? I like the way they are playing right now and have good depth in net. I have to change at this point as the Rangers just don't look strong right now. Ottawa had a strong start, but it just doesn't look dominant anymore. " ***It's probably a long shot, but it's nice to finally be getting a little bit of respect around the league again.***
  12. I don't know how I feel about that, Thomas is obviously the better goalie, but we seem to have his number. And recently there has been a disturbing trend of Backup/third string goalies playing well against us. This is a really important game I think, because we have NJ next and we know that will be a really tough game.
  13. According to TSN's ice chips: Defenceman Patrice Brisebois had an MRI on his left foot Monday where doctors found two broken bones. Brisebois says he'll suck up the pain so he can play. He could rest the foot but then he'd lose his game-shape which is something he'd rather avoid.
  14. Taken from Wikipedia: In human anatomy, the hip flexors are a group of muscles (including the iliopsoas which passes through the pelvis) that act to flex the femur onto the lumbo-pelvic complex
  15. Well we haven't been seeing much offensive production from him playing on Koivus line either. Saku, Higgins and Ryder have some chemistry together, hopefully they can create some chances tonight.
  16. Crosby went down tonight, out 4-6 weeks. I heard somewhere that Sundin asked not to go. Kovalev's gotta be a shoe in now.
  17. Koivu had a few chances in the first, and set lats up for one that he should have burried, but instead shot wide, thats like 4 open nets lats has missed in the past few games. Koivu cant go over and hold Gui's stick for him too.
  18. I somehow had a feeling this period would be like this
  19. What did he do try to play the puck with his stick in the crease, or did he give it away?
